Hmmm So I was really looking forward to FFXIV but once the benchmark was released and I found out I could only run that game on Medium/low settings on my desktop I figured rather than spending $400 to upgrade I would look into a game with perhaps more modest system requirements. Now I don't have a bad computer, but its not a hard core gaming machine either. It can run games like AoC,Aion, Fear2, The saboteur, prototype, WoW & Empire total war on max settings at 35-50 FPS or higher in some cases its just not a quad core liquid cooled monster of a machine. There are people who can run crysis on maximum settings but on the FFXIV benchmark test only scored in the Medium range, which is surprising. It does not look like Square Enix is to worried about PC accessibility with the game coming out on the ps3. According to the benchmark I can run that game at around 25- 30fps on medium settings Its not to bad...but I still don't want to have to gimp my experience so much.
From what Iv been reading this game is going to have realistic system requirements. And I am not surprised since accessibility is important to Korean developers. I have also been reading that this game is very much skill based over gear based. So If I am to understand correctly, this is the kind of game where if you want to block you raise your shield up in the proper direction and block, if you want to attack you press or click a button, for every swing, real time combat "Ala Monster Hunter style" if this is the case this could potentially be the only mmo on the market that involves player skill over gear, or any random stat factors. It seems like a very worthy alternative to FFXIV.
Just a few things I haven't been able to find
#1 Subscription fee or F2P?
#2 Any estimated Release dates yet or beta dates?
#3 How long has this game been in development?
#4 A lot of people are saying that the team behind this game is a really strong one, Can you elaborate on this? Is it the FFXI team? The Lineage 2 Team the WoW team or a combination of all? Why is it such a strong team of devs?
#5 Just curious because I can't help but notice the obvious similarities in art style and architecture...did they completely just rip off or buy off the rights to the Aion designs for the cities and textures?
Are classes going to be tied to Race or Gender?

Thats all you need to know
Basic benchtest for Tera: http://www.nzone.com/content/nzone/srl/nzone_srl.asp Just select UT3 from the list.
General game guides: http://www.terafans.com/forum/30-general-game-guides/ Subject to change.
1) P2P: I would have to guess around $15USD / month.
2) 2011
3) No idea.
4) People form many different companies. I think you can find a few names here. http://www.tera-online.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2
5) Yea it does look alot like Aion in some area's.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Yea Im looking forward to this game. Unreal 3 engine! Woohoo! Not thats all left to wonder is weather the game will be released as tera online or tera: the exiled realm of arborea.
Tera actually means The Exiled Realm of Arborea. So my guess is Tera Online
tera graphics looks slightly better than ffxiv so i doubt it will have less PC requirments than ffxiv
also being action mmo will raise the par even more
my punches are as strong as kicks
1. P2P
2. 2011 western version launch, soon there should be some info on beta tests so stay tuned
3. No idea but most likely since 2007 (the year when BHS has been established)
4. Actually Bluehole Studio is established by former NCsoft employees that were working on L3 and previously also on L2. Additionally some ppl working for En Masse, publisher of western version, worked for Blizzard (and their work was somehow related to WoW)
5. Yeah, some artists in BHS are former NCsoft employees so don't be surprised that it looks similar to Aion and most likely will look similar to B&S too.
And regarding requirements. Visit official TERA forums. There are a few topics about system requirements where some closed beta testers posted their spec and their feedback on game's performance. Additionally minimum spec are now in FAQ I think.
VideoCard will do the graphics while the Cpu will do the collision detection in the game. Some testers have said that they see an improvement or difference when going from a 2 core cpu, to a 3 core cpu, but not big a notice from 3>4.
Small scale war should be good, just don't know about large scale.

I'm rather convinced that FFXIV's benchmark is purpously bugged.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.
Yea I would not be surprised if it were bugged. Seems to high of a standard.
