Hmm. DAoC pre-ToA. The only game I know of that didn't require getting together with people you don't really like being around to progress(ie raids).

Hmmm, tough. It would have to be LOTR just for the epicness. I can't count the amount of times i've wished to be in a Lord of the Rings set, punting Orcs and kicking ass.

Waiting for the next big thing.

    good question

i think i would choose ao (pre shadowlands) as fixer or swg (pre nge) as droid engi

after all i'm a man so another possibility can be playboy manager, but this game is not out yet and i have no clue how the game/world will be but i think you get the general idea image

EvE online - Being an insanely rich Virtually immortal god with the power to level a city with a single thought would be pretty fun.

Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

Easy for me, City of Heroes hands down. Who wouldnt want to be a Superhero? Your job would be taking down bad guys and you would get paid good for it, and having super powers would be sweet. DC Universe Online isnt out yet or I would say that one, but having yet to play it I cant judge.

Second behind the Superhero genre would be Age of Conan. All those badasses going around and just being able to kill who you pleased would be crazy, WoW would be good too.

Way too much concern here over death.  I mean, if you live in the game world, you can also be ressed, respawn, etc. amirite?

    FFXI for me, most likely.

EVE Online of course. As a mercenary working for rich bastards and blowing stuff

Definitely EVE Online for me as a pod pilot. Being able to fly a massive ship myself that normally takes a large crew of normal pilots would be amazing, plus the ability to clone, explore, fight, etc.

Second choice would be WoW actually, especially vanilla WoW because it was a pretty well-fleshed virtual world and it has cuddly male taurens in it. I'd prefer to come as either a female undead or blood elf though...

The one world I would hope not to live in is Fallen Earth. No thanks to struggling for survival in a post-apocalyptic world. Scary stuff!

Playing MUDs and MMOs since 1994.

WoW without a doubt... little to no death penalty and gold practically falls out of the sky for you as you play.  Oh, and its easy easy easy!

Funny thread, but it really stops you and makes you think.

Fun, food, beer, friends, good female to male ratio, employment, money and companionly entertainment... I'd have to say Silvermoon City in WoW.

I could make enough farming the dead scar, and there are two Inns with plenty of food and blondes everywhere.  image

Since you ask what class we'd be, you'd presumably be in that world on the terms of a player character. In that case, yeah, Eve sounds pretty good. Capsuleers, even the least of them, are essentially immortal gods. Being an ordinary guy in Eve, on the other hand, would really, really suck (read some of the official fluff; Eve really is a crapsack world except for those at the top. Fortunately, capsuleers *are* at the top). Of course, the class question in the strictest sense is meaningless here since Eve doesn't have classes, but I'd probably be a miner/industrialist. Combat isn't nearly as fun in real life as it is on the PC screen.

Final Fantasy XI would be another good contender. In which case, I'd want to be a Red Mage.

If I had to live in an MMO I would probaly live in world of warcraft its super easy to gear up and there like no death penalty and if it was my ass on the line a low death penalty would be nice :P

FFXIV or FFXI. I can be any job I want at any time, the world is fantastic and feels real, what more can I ask for?

you can be any job you want but if you have no friends you aint gonna level plus IRL I could never handle waiting 15 min for every air ship ride between cities and I bet chocobo's smell pretty bad in person

    Ultima Online or EVE Online.
