Star Wars: The Old Republic will feature many explorable planets. Devs have revealed the latest, Nar Shaddaa, also known as the Smuggler's Moon. Nar Shaddaa is a tough place where the black market rules and everything comes at a premium.
The bowels of Nar Shaddaa hide some of the galaxy’s darkest secrets. In the pursuit of advanced technologies, unscrupulous enterprises conduct hazardous experiments on unwilling test subjects and crime lords employ slaves as fodder on industrial assembly lines. Fugitives hide from the law after committing heinous crimes, and prisoners who’ve vanished from all over the galaxy are held in anonymous and inescapable private prisons. Criminal enterprises beyond Hutt control compete for power, as well – foremost among them the Exchange syndicate, the Hutt Cartel's only genuine rival. While the upper levels of Nar Shaddaa may be one of the most desirable places to visit in the galaxy, the moon’s lower levels are a place which anyone in their right mind would avoid at all costs.

Oh the thought of safe haven for many a criminals... Aka Bounty Hunters Paradise XD I love stories about Nar Shaddaa, also great planet in Kotor 2. Glad they are putting it in for us to play on
QFT This is the first place I think looked really interesting for me.
Very interesting...
Looks nice and shady. A great place for lots of adventure.
Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.
I loved Nar Shaddaa in KOTOR2, this is going to be amazing!
Looks like a mix between Tokyo and Vegas to me.

Not a bad first look.
I know where my smuggler is going to be hanging out.
When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!
My Trooper is gonna get it down in the Smuggler's place.
Just so you know, plummeting off skycrawlers toward your untimely death has also been confirmed by the devs
Reason enough for this place and Coruscant to be my favorites...

Can my friend catch me in a speeder after you push me over?
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?

Yes, but he'd better have some wipers on that windshield of his XD

"I'm sorry sir, but Galactic Insurance doesn't cover idiots landing on your speeder."
Dangit!
I mean, this is greta and all. But in typical Bioware fashion I'm rather certain its going to be like the big beautiful city-world from Mass Effect 2.
Meaning, like Zero, explorability.
As i wrote a dozen times before replying to posts like yours, instead of assuming things invest some time on TOR's website. You can find usefull info there like the one stating that the planets will be almost fully explorable (90% or so).
I just imagine that classic cantina music in my ears now. I wonder what kind of wicked pleasures we can live out there, hehe. XD

A world built entirely over by a city will be 90% Explorable?
I wish I had your blind faith.
A nice video. I've seen it before.
Look, Coruscant is my favorite planet. It has been since I was a kid. I used to stare at Ralph Mcquarrie's concept pantings as a kid and day dream about how life must be on a world like that. To be able to explore it is a very amazing concept for me even now, decades later. (even in the far inferior timeline as the KOTOR era)
But nothing in that video said "90% explorable".
Maybe it'll be great, maybe it won't. Based on my extensive experience with Bioware games... their enviroments are far from great, and no more enjoyable than a stage with a shoddy set-design.
I can understand both sides. So far Bioware environments were small. But then, the Old Forest in Breeland of LOTRO is small, but the design makes it feel like an endless maze by the art of placement and design.
And then, if you had Coruscant as a place of dreams (and I know I had too), you have too high a measure. NO video game can EVER be as large as our imagination.
Still, I am open to be positive surprised and try to be in a balance between skepticism and looking forward for good stuff.

Bah! I can't play KOTOR II, it refuses to work on my Vista... : /
This is not the first time I have heard that Nar Shaddaa was awesome on KOTOR II and I wanna play it!
/BackOnTopic, Those screens made me jizz my pants.
Total MMOs played: 274|Enjoyed: 9. >:|
James: Just like I was talking about earlier, these worlds are huge public spaces. When you go to the world of Coruscant or Tatooine, you’re going to have a huge world to explore with many square kilometers and it is all public space.
As said before, the info is out there for everyone interested to find it.
I just hope with so so many planets that they sort of find a way to allow a lot of people per server, so that the world isnt a large void. But glad to see more added to the game, looking forward to this MMO.
I wonder how large the planets will be. i wonder if it'll truly be free roam or like Mass Effect.
Ha it kinda does look a bit like vegas
Awesome! Kelethin has been re-born and I'm itching to play this game!!
