Stunning graphics. As stated earlier, the look of metal is just awsome. Makes me cry when I compare them to my own EQ1 screens. But when I switch to this game, Im gonna be a tank so I can look flashy and all that (though it will prob look like crap on my system).
That's what I am and I can wear the same armor tanks can.
I went this path:
Priest --> Cleric --> Templar
You can wear heavy armor at lvl 20
A. You get to sport the nice gear B. You can sport a Moses 10 commandment tablets while smiting your enemies C. You'll never have to worry about grouping. D. You are one of the games best soloer. You can wear the heavy Armor PLUS heal yourself.

Well, the problem is I played a Cleric for well over 2 years in EQ1 so Im a little fed up with the whole healing buisness. For the most time, I was just sitting on my ass and casting "Complete healing" every once in a while, otherwise I would consume to much mana and we had to take a med break.
But playing a healer seems sort of different in EQ2 and beeing able to solo well sounds interesting since Clerics couldnt solo shit in EQ1. So maybe you can convince me healing classes are more fun in EQ2 (especially templar/inquisitor)?
I played Cleric in EQ1 too ( up to level 47) and yes, so far it is different from EQ1. Basicaly clerics in EQ2 have heals, heals on gettting hit (you get hit, you heal automaticaly) thats a new one and I love it, 2 buffs so far (AC STA also a chance to proc a damage on enemy on succesfull attack), 2 debuffs (1 stat debuf and another resistance to your nukes debuf), 3 nukes (1 nuke is only vs orcs though).
If i would compare EQ2 cleric with EQ1 cleric id say EQ2 cleric is a slightly more powerfull cleric with one or two skills from other classes like mage and shaman. Im only 14 so i dont know what skills ill get at later levels. But so far it seems that Clerics do verywell solo and in groups, although if you are grouped i think it will be required of you to mainly heal/debuff, which I dont mind but you do it seems. Since grouping is where EQ2 realy shines, id suggest to think carefully before making one if you realy realy hate healing.

I played my cleric in EQ1 to level 65 and for quite a while after that, including heavy raiding for a long time. I always loved him - the need to heal and buff never bothered me - so I definitely wanted to have a cleric in EQ2. My Templar in EQ2 is now level 26.
I would say it's somewhat different, but with respect to grouping not drastically different. In soloing, yes, it is very different, as I can solo like the proverbial bat out of hell. Soloing oranges is quite manageable.
As far as grouping goes, the job is pretty much the same - keep people alive. The healing scheme is quite different though. The reactive heals are fabulous and sufficient for routine grouping, but not generally enough to keep a group alive in nasty fights, so you use a variety of heals. In general, fights are faster and thus in my view you feel more involved and don't get that feeling of sitting back casting something once in a while. Plus, it's generally easy to melee while you're doing it since there's no need to sit.
You do get a few debuffs, but I don't see those as earth-shaking. God knows why we get a translocate type spell, but we do. Some other fun things too, plus a useless but endlessly amusing spell which forces other players to bow to you
In sum, yeah, grouping is faster and more fun overall, even though a clerics job is essentially the same. In soloing, you kick ass.
I agre with wickes... One question though, when do clerics get that "force-them-all-peasants-to-bow-to-the-divine-power" spell? OMG i want that spell now!!! LOL it reminds me an item in WoW that was a clicky (u activate it on a target) and target was forced to dance hehe.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
lol, I'm not sure but I think it was level 20. It's not one you get automatically ... you have to buy it. On the good side it was sold in Qeynos Harbor, as I recall.
Actually I enjoyed playing my cleric (otherwise I wouldve changed character) and had no problem with healing, though it sometimes got rather repetitive. And I realize that in group your role is always keeping the group alive and not to nuke, melee etc
What was that part about no need to sit? Dont you regren/regain mana faster when sitting in EQ2? If not; Yay SoE!!!
uMMm, have you been hitting that oxycotin bottle again?

I havent played EQ for a while so they might have, not sure on that one. I thought you still had to sit to regen mana faster.
Anyway, not having to sit to regen mana must be a great improvement for all casters. Sure, maybe they shouldnt be in there meleeing all the time but its nice to be able to just move around etc. Think I'll buy EQ2 in a couple of weeks if things turn out the way Im planning.
Pay Fadeus no mind En1gma ... the boy simply has no aesthetic sense. That's a very attractive bedspread ... what would we call that, say a cornflower blue or a powder blue? Goes very nice with your overall decor. I particularly like the way you have that table at the foot of the bed ... must come in handy eh.
I'm going to have to put up a shot of my bedroom now, if only my video card would stop acting up =(( Actually I need to get a new bedspread ... The cat likes to hang out there and he's really making a mess of it.
i have no bed , no chaits, only one table, 2 books (some old vintage porn, ELF on Human action ), a dirty mirror and a chandolear I havent dusted in centuries. Since i have no bed, i have to sleep on a floor, sometimes i have to sleep outside becuase i have no windows either... but guards dont like it and use me for target practice their bottle throwing skills.
