Ok the trailer is cool in terms of drama and visual beauty. No doubt here. And, we get a reason why things are as they are.

But... IMVPO it showed way too much of some not likely happening future and too less of the actual timeline we are supposed to be in.

probably just me but i'm tired of cg rendered teasers that really end up leaving you feeling let down once you get your hands on the game

    so say we all

sucks that FFXIV is coming out so damn soon

As awesome as this was, CGI trailers never mean squat when it comes to the true game.  WAR has a cool CGI trailer too :P

Yup. I remember the greenskin catapult and went WOW, then got the game and it was more like OW.

im a huge comic fan so i'll definetly try this one. CoH just doesnt settle the need for a superhero based mmo. not sure if this will either but i preordered the ce edition. lets see if it stays in the play pile or joins the war, aoc, coh ce pile.

Ok, I'm a big comic fan also.  I collected comics when I was younger, played CoH, have a lifetime sub to Champions.  But I have to ask: why would you pay an extra $50 for the collectors edition???  The only things you get for that $50 are 2 in-game items (which by their nature are 95% cosmetic/social status items and 5% useful) and a plastic Batman figure?  You can go onto any number of websites or you local comic shops and use that $50 to get one or more Batman (or any other hero you prefer) figures/statues that will be far nicer then the one you will get with the ce edition.

I agree.  None of the CE things flip my switches.  Out of all the standard version extras I like Deathstroke's short sword or the Amazonian bracelets. But, I hate waiting on deliveries so even though their item sucks I gotta go with Gamestop so I know I can pick it up locally on the day of release.  I considered Steam for Bane's injector but the DL says 30gigs of HD space and I do NOT want to have to download that much.

The trailer was meant as a look into what the backstory of the game is based around. The actual timeline for the game hasn't started yet.. that's for when it releases :)

This only happens to dumb people.

Reasonable people realize that CG trailers are a good way to illustrate the main conflict and visual settings of a game that is not yet released.  No reasonable person goes in expecting the game to look anything like the trailer, and we see it as simply as extra bit of awesome to enjoy with our upcoming game.

Besides, video games are the only companies really pushing adult/action themed CG masterpieces.  Movies are still stuck in the Pixar/it's mainly for kids perspective.

The trailer does look really good on many levels.

At the same time the newer trailers are getting a bit over the top with the action sequences that do not even closely resemble what the game will offer.   I can understand where people may find them misleading as they are made to build public interest in the game.

  • Pest138Pest138 Member UncommonPosts: 114

While I agree these CGI trailers can be misleading I always enjoy them.

Think this one sets up the back-story very nicely.

I have to admit it is one of the best trailers for an MMO that I have seen. I do not plan on playing this game but it definately make a person interested in the game.

We will see how it does after 6 months seems like that is the life of most of the new MMOs...

The trailer was mighty impressive. Drew me in right away. I showed it to a friend and his response was "They should make a movie like this!!!"

I'm amped up for this game. Hopefully it will justified.
