I have played so many FTP and PTP MMO's out there and one thing I have learned is that there is always going to be a game-changing patch that will come. Sooner, or later, there will be something that completely alters my gaming experience.
EVE-Online - the drone bandwidth change (I know I'm whining, but geez)
Entropia Universe - OMG VU 10.0. MindArk had an awesome game at VU 9+ that I could have played forever.
WoW - usually the changes are Ok and if they screw something up, they "balance" them again later.
Change is the only constant of the universe. Everything is orbiting everything and moving through time and space. It seems I have no choice but to start my own game and be god of my own universe :-) /I wish
Of course, some of the changes are good too! It doesn't rain every day.
