I know I loled so hard that I just canceled my CE x) Have a good day
He would surely express his dis pleasure here how Squre Enix cheated him out of Oben Beta nd how he had to cancel so many appointments to play a video game ;p

Nothing wrong with using a sick day and cancelling appointments for a good day of gaming/fishing/trolling/making love. With games though you should learn not to waste it on a beta that will be wiped, and definitely not on launch day. I think about 10-14 days after launch is the prime time to set it up.
Soft spots are for my wife only
P.S
I canceled my preorder because when a company makes fals promises when a game is not even released I don't believe in the end product either. I have played FF14 already and it looked really promising but 12 hours before an open beta and they cancel the apointment then I prefer waiting on something better (in my eyes) since everyone has there own taste in games. Not saying its gonna be a bad game but not worth my waiting.
Im guessing you are an only son...
Still mate, you are making a problem out of nothing, its a games open beta for god sake. Go breath some fresh air. Take your free day and go talk a walk with some friends, read a good book or something.
From my point of view it almost seems you are crying because of this, and it is a pretty unimportant thing
There are no false promises. game is still releasing on the set date and CE players are still getting their head start. if due to some critical bugs they had to delay OB for few days its not end of the world. Those who have played CB know for fact that FF apart from few minor issues is ready for release.
Its your own loss really.

The words silver spoon, silver platter and spoiled come to mind as I read some of these replies.
Oh no, my plans have been interrupted how dare they!? I'm canceling my preorder, I'm canceling my birthday, I'm canceling Christmas, because I didn't get my way.
Sheesh.
So it's delayed. Big deal. Happens all the time, to expect it to NOT happen is being willfully blind to how Real Life works. Best laid plans tend to go awry. Always expect the unexpected....bah, why am I wasting my breath. This will go in one ear and out the other as they blame everyone but themselves for their "plans" being interrupted.
Anway, one interesting note, if you plan to play in Open Beta and keep your character name into the LIve game, you will need to pick the server in Open Beta and keep it the same for Launch. Have fun
SE can take its time & fix things up til they think its ready for OB. We're all mature enough to wait, aren't we? Well, maybe not the spoiled brat type, which we have a fine specimen here, but eh, we don't want them in this game anyways... win win.
edit: When I say ''we'' I'm really saying ''I'', but I'm sure I ain't alone on this...
Open Beta Delayed? I expected it. XD I can still remember the fuss that happend when FFXI was delayed in release.
Lets tone down the intelligence level a bit to exspress what happend.
Got a bus ticket taking me to Vana'diel. Time to get a ticket now they're available. Get to the counter. Sorry sir. The bus to Vana'diel is having mechanical problems and has to be fixed by the mechanics. So departure is delayed. Please come back another time. Have a nice day.
Beta delay? Oh de dums....
I still can not believe that people want to play this. Everything I have seen about this so far makes it look just like your average auto attack EQ clone.
So no biggy that beta is delayed. Perhaps it gives them time to add the basic element of being able to jump into the engine !
Oh and please do not delete this post mods as someone stating that they do not think that this game is up to much from what they have seen is NOT worthy of deleting someone's post. I am not flaming or trolling just stating my valid opinion.
Really of all games you would call XIV a clone? It is one of the most unique MMORPG's to come out ever. They are against jumping and always have been. I would much prefer having no jumping over the hillarious jump systems in other MMO's where I have to deal with kids bunny hopping everyhopping in full sets of armor.
To each his own...
I just had that happen not long ago with a flight. Postponement is not a bad thing. I was fine not getting on a plane that may have had "critical bugs" and feel the same about getting into FF14 that has critical bugs. It's one of those things that regularly happen. Be like the willow and bend with the wind.
