the longer your connected the more connections to download from will be come available and the faster it will download, just give it some time or try a turrent to get it faster

My Torrent upload speed is maxed so I hope that helps those trying it that way. I am also going to leave the client running, not sure how much that will help as well.
If you have a Megaupload account a member posted 7 files that if you unzip gives you the files you need, then you just paste them into the proper folders and your done.
Just be patient and DO NOT shut it down. Mine was at 99% for a long time the other day and then it finally finished. Not sure why it does that, but just hang in there.
It timed out, so I did it again and now it's stuck ag 99.9% once more. And it's still uploading. Nvm it just finished, it's doing something else.....6.5 hours to go!!!

dude I left it overnight and it was still going 0 kb down.
no need to use utorrent or stuff, just leave it on eventually it will finish
Eventually being about the time the game launches.
Left mine on overnight to see if it would resolve itself, all ports open, firewall off, etc. It had downloaded about 10% when I woke up. Shoved the torrents in utorrent and downloaded in a few hours.
I was having the same problem until I found out which ports need to be open for the downloader to work properly. Make sure the following ports are open on your router and firewall:
54992-55551 TCP
80 UDP
443 UDP
After I opened them it only took about two hours to download the client.

The first thing I did was find the cients ports and gave them permission thru my router and Windows OS. Still never saw much DL speed except on a brief occasion when it would spike then slowly drop to 0. But I would have a constant upload speed of 50+
I am now using Utorrent my self i was getting horrible download speeds but i changes some settings now i'm dl at 1mb a sec this is what i did. I brought up my upload speed to 800kbs and my download speed to 5000 because i have a 10 mb connection. I than opened up to 200 users per torrent. I also opened up to 30 up load slot.
When i brought up my upload speeds I started downloading a lot faster
Just turn your firefall(s) off for the duration. (I keep windows firewall off all the time because it sucks anyway). I usually just have my router do DMZ mode instead of forwarding ports and all that fun stuff, then turn it back when I'm done. Pretty easy once you know the address to access your router.
Yeah, this downloader is complete crap. I hope it isn't indicative of the rest of the game. It doesn't bode well that they are leeching my upload, and giving me no download in return. I understand it's a beta and all... but how do we report bugs like this? And why in the world was something so crucial (one could call it a critical bug) not found before this?
because the bug didn't happen till someoen opened up and tested the open beta client which has a lot more content in it than the closed beta client did.

10%! That's about 9% further than I got after leaving it run overnight.

Probably a combination of port settings and the fact that this patcher is a piece of crap.
I suggest googling how to use utorrent to patch if you can't get it to go!
Could be that SE wasn't seeding it because they were fixing stuff. Mine is all finished so I'll let it sit and upload to you guys while I'm out! =]

Patience is always lacking on beta connections. Or is that everything now a days?

Now with 57.3% more flames!

After 15 minutes I was DL over 1 MBs. Stick with it, it will get there.

I went from 2 days 12 min to now 2 hours left.

I did all the port forwarding and static IP nonsense and still couldn't get anything leaving the official downloader running for 3 days.
I ended up just using Utorrent instead and it finished in 3 hours.
And how do we, as beta testers, report this bug?
