I have played World OF Warcraft almost since it first came out back in 2004/2005, I loved wow, it was the best game, I enjoyed almost everything about the game, but when The Burning crusade came out, and I noticed that Blizzard was adding new skills, omg NERF, Change this change this class, and adding resil stat ruined pvp big times, all the twinks, and unfair pvp, this made me quit the game, because I really did not like it from the point of burning crusade, but then I resubscribed again, and I really did like wow from then on due to some of the changes to spells, and additions to wow, this was only for like two months at most I hit like Level 70, and quit playing again due to boredom, pvp was no fun because everyone is geared, my character wasn't, resil stat ruined pvp, and PVE gear just wasn't anywhere near good unless you spent hours grinding, and farming raid instances.
Then Wrath OF The Lich King came out, I did like the expansion, but honestly I think the whole Terrain thing sucks, some of the maps like howling ford I believe it was with all the wolfs attacking, I did not like it, The quests too confusing of where to go and such This expansion just annoyed the hell out of me, and so I did not feel like playing due to the way this game sucked.
To me the Classic WOW was fine, just great, but then they added all these expansions, changes I did not like to wow, and changed the entire story of wow, like How did the lich king get here, I mean seriously An ancient evil just comes into wow all of a sudden, I never heard anything about this in the original wow, and the burning crusade, and that just really tore the story apart, I cannot say for sure how the expansion is going to be called Cataclysm, but I assume it will suck as well in quite a few ways, but I think it could be better in some ways.
Honestly the changes I would like to see to wow are.
1. Fixing of the annoying and confusing Maps/Quests in Lich King/Howling Ford Area.
2. Don’t charge so much gold for flying mounts, but allow users to buy their flying/Mounts for money, I mean like seriously New players to wow don’t always have gold, and it gets annoying, to have to buy so many mounts for each and every charge, Farm Farm Farm Gold, that’s all wow is after all. While this might not be a problem for someone it has for me since wow went to flying mounts.
3. Do not add Lame Unlock each quest for manual flying in old zones.
4. Make PVP about not just about gear, but skill, sure someone should have more health, and rewards for actually having better gear, but not make them unstoppable in pvp, If someone works hard enough in PVE give them some decent ways to enchant their Gear, and get it just as decent, or close to PVP/Arena Gear.
5. Don’t charge people for Extra Skill Bars in WOW, Make it free, you hit level 20, or 30 you get your second talents unlocked 100% free.
6. Quests Go Here, Kill things, Deliver This, Drop X Off @ Y, these quests are annoying after awhile.
7. Allow people to hide achievements, and stats from public View, This is an option for those who are picky about who has done what, and doesn’t want to group with people, or kids.
8. Give character customizations similar to Runes OF Magic, Honestly I don’t like to say this because I hate most free to play MMO, but some recent changes to ROM, makes it better than wow in my opinion, while the game is not 100% like wow, I enjoy a few things. Runes of Magic, allows people to keep their Old Armor looks, and Upgrade it with stat stones, so a user can keep their favorite costumes in this game, you can choose to hide certain parts from view which everyone can see, and such. Why doesn’t blizzard have this, I think this is really stupid that they don’t. I think this would be cool because some people hate armor looks in wow, for example I farm all my arena gear but I think that armor sucks ass in its looks, so I take my level 40 Robe out, wear it, and put the stats on it from my mother armor, which would be nice to be able to do.
9. Honestly I have to say that Since I first ever Played WOW, for me personally it has went way down hill, maybe if they do this expansion really good I will come back, I have no Idea yet of what my plans are depends what they do, what good changes come, and such.
10. Possibly add housing features, and such to WOW, along with other cool effects, and features to the game, Balance the mage fire spec to be able to compete with Arcane, Warlocks, and Ice Mages, don’t leave certain specs gimped, actually make it better.
11. Blizzard makes Billions OF $$$ Every year, its not like they cannot afford to do these type of enhancements, and add some decent features to wow. Like for example, why do people have to get Heroic Unlocks, Farm constantly Grind this, get keys for this dungeon, do this, and its very annoying, I cannot stand it, if a player wants to do a dungeon it should be simply group up, and go there, rogues should be allowed to pick the locks, and simply do the dungeon, but anything else is really annoying, and makes the game no fun to me.
12. Balance Skills More.
A Priest shouldn't be able to kill any class, and self heal, over powered, ect.
Mages, and other spell casters, as well as melee should get interrupt skills that keep them from simply spamming heals, dotting you up, running away, fearing your ass, and win every time. This game needs balance, maybe a lot of kids don’t mind, but I mean like seriously. As a Fire Mage for example.
13. Compare wow to other MMORPG I have played in 2009/2010.
Runes OF Magic over all even though I hate the bag problems with characters it costs $5 a month for unlocking all bag slots, and it offers really good customization compared to WOW, you can buy your runes, and stats apply them to any armor you want, and PVP is a lot more fun to me in that game. In WOW it simply got annoying to me, constantly doing the same pvp instances over and over again, never really getting anything rewarding without doing hundreds of battles for armor, grind fest, and all that type of stuff, which is why I could not enjoy wow really.
Mounts in runes of magic are simply like $10 USD in cost, or small rentals for mounts in game cash, there is no big costs for mounts, I am not saying go full items shop, or do anything, but possibly make flying skills and such 1 time purchase per account.
Aion, You get Wings, 100% FREE, there are updates, but you are not required to purchase, wow you don’t get anything free.
WOW Default User Interface Sucks... Possibly give interface customizations, and such.
Don’t Limit Skills to gathering in wow, Allow unlimited gathering by anyone, you still have to skill them up, but make it more like 2010 MMO.
Crafts are unfair? People can do Tailoring, and Enchanter, but all people have to pretty much go Mining, Black Smiting, and mining counts as a primary skill but serves no purpose other than a few transmutes, and making bars and mining your own ore. Why should tailor be any different, or enchanting, instead if its going to be like this, Make tailors have to get cloth from mobs, use a skill to weave it, which could proc into more cloths, and that is primary skill, same for enchanting, or give no limits.
There are a lot of changes I could think that should be added to wow for a 2010 MMO to greatly improve it, I doubt Blizzard will actually be doing many of these things in this coming expansion, and if it is better, I will come back to wow, if it isn't im going Back to Vindictus, and other MMO, because wow is just really too old outdated, and seems to only get worse for me, and as a game in my view.
The way I feel about Herbalism, and Mining, it doesn't really take Real Life skills to do such, and if I was picking Herbs like it does in wow where they disappear, I would just pull the whole plant out of the ground and toss it in a bucket, I mean seriously, as far as mining Neither do those, but I think adding general Mining/Alchemy together would be a great Idea, and instead of making mining, depend on black smithing, make Alchemy depend on Enchanting, and Inscripting depend on something else that actually has a use, this way people who want to make stuff such as Engineer, and do armor craftinng, or weapon crafting, and such they could do it, or simply make engineer since it doesnt serve a really good purpose besides trinkets and fun stuff a secondary. Make wow more fun, not time consuming, Happy Customers = Paying Customers. Not simply to keep players in the game they have to work their ass off, because Today I dont spend hours more than 8 hours a day in a mmo compared to when I was a wow addict, and Who cares if I ever hit level 80, have the best gear, I would like to, but its not something I have to do, and I can just play a decent non scam F2P MMO like JD, or ROM, and do these things, paying less than $15 a month, unlike other rip off F2P games. You are not required to buy EXP boosts, and in JD you can afk days and get XP, so its pretty good. Also New MMO Comming out like Guild Wars 2, and Tera might be better, if some decent changes to make wow more fun dont come soon, it may end up being the end for World OF Warcraft one day, I cant say when, or how, or what game, but I can say that WOW if not improved will have serious competition.

Got through the majority of that and it does make me wonder whether you have ever actually played the game or whether you have just patched together old posts from somewhere, but some direct responses;
1 - Nothing confusing, just read the descriptions carefully and/or use the built in quest helper
2 - Mount costs were dramatically reduced and gold is so easy to gather in WotLK that it hardly matters anyway
3 - No-one knows for sure yet how the old zone flight is going to work, so wait and see
4 - PvE & PvP are two completely seperate paths and always should be in my personal opinion, if someone works hard for their PvP gear they should have the respective advantage
5 - No idea what that is supposed to mean?
6 - Questing is questing, will always be repatative no matter what game you play
7 - This is 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, then you have an issue with people claiming achievements they have never done, can't win.
8 - Armor customization is coming in Cataclysm
As for the rest, well you have to realise that the game isn't designed for you alone and what you may not enjoy many others will, just the nature of the game.
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.
You can make 5k gold from the Northrend quests alone, much more than that if you combine profits from AH sales while you quest. Getting gold has never been easier, its beyond trivial.
The only reason someone would want to hide there achievements would be so that others can't see how little they have achieved.
The entire wall of text posted absolutely reeks of a lazy playstyle and lack of dedication, you seem to think everything should just be handed to you with the most minimal effort possible. This game has been made easy enough to cater to people with that mentality, it doesn't need to be dumbed down even more.
All games require some time invested to get something, hunker down and save gold it's very easy now a days. Good lord I remember when BC came out and the big thing was saving for a flying mount. It took me months of farming mining ore and selling it on the AH. But profits trippled once I had access to epic flight travel + crusader aura. Find a nitch that the masses need and work on being a supplier for that to build up cash if you can't handle the quest grind. Although, I can't imagine anyone finding WoW difficult now. Seriously.

I guess the hate comes from the fact WoW has effectively made the MMO market stagnant. Game after game have come and gone cause they could not measure up. And many have just plain died because their community left for WoW. I for one am wondering when we will see anything new or are we looking at Blizzard's logo for decades to come. It's no wonder there are more companies turning to console and single player PC games rather than try to compete with Blizzard's internet monster. I've played WoW since day one but I for one would give up my left arm for something new and different.
Not really because you could respec since EVER, at no point did ppl just stick with one spec it was always very common for ppl to respec to pvp and pve, or even for pve when it was needed for raiding what blizzard effectively did was remove a pointless time sink, go to town, pay 50g to respec, put all your talents, get glyphs ( at the latter date ), configure hots bars.
Adding the 1000g fee for dual spec was a smart move by blizzard in removing a pointless time sink, it doesnt defeat the purpose of a spec it actually enhances it since you still have to spec how you want its not like you dont have to spec.
OP good observations.. not sure I understand and agree with everything, but in general I would say that 90% of your observations are spot on.. I and others have noticed the same areas of concern and have expressed them to Blizzard, with ways of correcting them.. What I mean by correcting them doesn't mean changing them to what we desire, but giving players alternatives.. Such as quest grinding. There are times I'm just not in the mood to go questing, and wish for a change of pace such as camping.. How I do miss camping with a group for hours.. That is much more social then anything I have done in WoW so far.. It gaves us time to converse and socialize between pulls.. Something that WoW is seriously lacking IMO.. Can questing and camping co-exist? Sure they can,, IF the devs would spend the time to code it in, and make some minor changes in the game..
Your observation about PvP is spot on too.. PvP is dead to me.. The grind for PvP gear is incomplete and tiresome.. Open world PvP is almost dead anymore.. 99% of the open PvP happens in WG every 2.5 hours.. /sad And yes, PvP is all about the gear chase.. IMO there should not be 2 different types of gear in the game.. Adding resil stat was stupid, however that was put in to compensate the stupid crit value.. WoW allowed the crit values to get out of control, which resulted in resil.. I would reduce the crit hits to a more reasonable number and delete resil stat from the game. In addition, there needs to me more incentive and fun to do PvP, especially in the open world..
One thing that is my game breaking area is raiding.. A mmo, IMO should be about socializing with fellow gamers.. End game raids should not be hard capped to a number such as 10 or 25 man limit.. I'm old school, and believe a raid should be about bring as many or whoever you wish (within reason) to the fight.. Degree of dificulty of boss mobs should be generalized.. Let me explain.. I would design boss encounters for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 persons.. Each tier level of encounter would have their own "drop table" If you noticed what I put down has 10 tiers of "loot".. For example sake, a tier 1 chest drop would reward a "lvl 200" item, whereas a tier 4 drop might be a level 220 items, and max tier 10 drop would be a level 250 chest piece.. I would get rid of the ID system, and hard caps.. If a group of 30 people dressed in greens and blues want to pug and attempt to get tier 4 (level 220) drops, let them.. Are they attacking a boss designed for 20, with 30? Sure, and since they are in blues and greens, there is a strong chance they might wipe a lot.. There is always a chance that some people might try to farm lower level encounters, but why farm lower level BOP's that you can't use, when you can challenge yourself af the appropriate level.. Raiding should be about socializing and fun.. Raiding in WoW has become so Esport, that gear score has become the EPEEN measuring tool.. Think about it.. If you allowed open limit raiding, who would truely give a shit about someones gear score.. I know I wouldn't.. A dungeon might be designed for 10 people, but because a couple new level 80's are joining the raid, we'll go into the fight with 12 or 13.. or maybe 15.. We take extra people into the raid to make up what their gear might be lacking.. OR talent.. Why should less talented players, that pay the same $15 a month, be black balled from raiding because fo the hard cap limit??
The above option has NO effect on the power gamers one bit.. If your raiding guilds wishes to grind raids the Esport way, then by all means, keep doing what you're doing.. But why should your way be the ONLY way.. Why should less geared or less talented players be forced to look in from the outside because the Esport gamers need to have their cake and eat it too? One thing I would do tho is have a cooldown on how fast you can go from one raid group to another.. I'm not a fan of gruild hoppers, and I would equally dislike raid hoppers too (since the ID system would be gone)..
