2 versions of Aika?

harvschmarvharvschmarv Member Posts: 83

So there are 2 versions of Aika - a global one and a gpotato one?

What is the difference? Do you pick by where you live, or is there an obviously better choice?

Thanks in advance.

I was blocked, when I tried to play the gpotatoe one. Now I tried the other one 2 days ago and it works. So yes... one is a global version.^^

Edit: so the Gpotatoe seems to be US-only

the different is that in Gpotapo their version got release earlier then the global one. so they will have more content then the global. besides that also the game is heading the road to Buy 2 Power and their customer service just suxs(sry for my language).

GLobal version just release their Open Beta in august 27( dont remember the date but it was late august) and we don't have much info to determined how its going. but from my EXPeirence the servers are pretty populated and there are helpful people helping new people.

It is true for now (but gPotato was not world first, before were Aika in Korea and Japan, and i think those are still ahead of gPotato version), but global version is hosted by game developer (t3fun is branch of Hanbitsoft, which developed Aika), so we can expect that global aika will be changing faster and smoother than other versions.

I agree! I've played Aika Global since the CBT and so far, all their promises are met. The service is very satisfactory. The game experience is nice. It's not totally outstanding but it has all the qualities that I am looking for in an MMO game. What I enjoy about it is aside from I get to play with my friends (all my classmates and some people I know who play WoW are playing it already), I also get to meet alot of friends worldwide. There are some who would guide and walk me through the game. I think it's what most MMO games lack-- dynamic crowd. And Aika has it. There, I met alot of French and Spanish and alot of Europeans who are really nice and friendly. Sometimes, the monsters are freaking me out of my seat. HAHAHA! I hate them so much. But isn't it what we're really looking for in a game? You have to feel it and playing Aika makes me want to kill them all. Hahaha! And by the way, all those rubber monsters are kinda creepy to watch. And hey, the gm's are very nice. Their huge heads are owesome I hope I could pop my head that big also. MY PRAN IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED!

Here is the publisher list for Aika. As i know, if you are in a publisher's territory, you have to play Aika with the publisher; no publisher else. I read a player from China banned from Global Aika...

    ------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------

    Dear Aika Community,

Due to territorial agreements between Hanbitsoft and local game publishers, please be informed that Aika Global will not be opened to residents of the following countries:

    North American Aika (Publisher: gPotato)

    ·         United States of America

    ·         Canada

    Brazilian Aika (Publisher: OnGame)

    ·         Brazil

    Southeast Asian Aika (Publisher: Asiasoft)

    ·         Singapore

    ·         Malaysia

    ·         Thailand

    Russian Aika (Publisher: Citadel)

    ·         Russia

    Chinese Aika (Publisher: YouQU)

    ·         China

    Korean Aika (Publisher: HanbitOn)

    ·         South Korea

    Japanese Aika (Publisher: Hanbitstation)

    ·         Japan

We truly hope that you enjoy the game and support the mentioned publishers as much as you have supported us.

    Thanks and Regards,

If i were u i would go for global, at least you can see GMs presence there and theres no gold bots spamming but well theres no buff in pvp channel in global wich sucks ._.

i play on global version and it rocks .but i wonder with the introdcution of cash shop .will it face same criticism as that of allods online?

I'm happy about Aika Global too. I dunno about Gpotato but their service really isn't that good. They even IP banned people without proper notice.

I agree with the others that the community is very good. People really aid me when I need help when doing dungeons or defeating a boss. It is also fun how people of the nation defend their relics when the other nation attacks it. It's pretty exciting!

The GMs are also there to help you. They're soooo cute too with big heads like that. lol. Some of them even dance. Haha.

So I am not sure if the gameplay of the NA and Global versions are the same. But either way, I prefer the global one for several reasons as I have mentioned.

    Played: Runescape, Adventure Quest
Currently playing: Aika Global, Atlantica Online
Waiting for: Cardmon Hero, Dynasty Warriors Online

That's true. And when you're tired spilling bloods, you can just hang out with the GMs, sing and dance and sometimes exchange jokes with them. Aika Global is by far, the game with the friendliest GMs. Their big heads kinda disturbing sometimes, but I've been thinking about it and I came to realize, if you're GM and you have all the power, you really deserve a head that BIG. Lol. See you ingame! Sparta is rocking.
