I was watcing at the official website of guildwars and i realized that some classes arevery easy to be seen at the profesions tab.
Heres what classes my eye catched.
There should be a gladiator with shield for sure or paladin who knows
I can see a mage maybe mesmer or healer,
The other one on the right is a charr.I think sth that has to do with guns or hand to hand
Finally the second from left is too small to be seen.I can t understand what this should be.
Guys what do u think for the upcoming classes?
Comments
This is my guess. I would add to this guess, the Male Charr figure (far left)is a specialist in Environmental Weapons (Engineer/Firearms) and to the far right, a Paladin (Warrior/Monk archetype).
Playing now: Cities: Skyline / Ori and the Blind Forest / Banished
-mesmer
-assasin
-paladin/templar/...
-Tech based(engineer?)
Yeah, that's pretty much obvious.
The only question is which one is the second new class? (The first one being engineer).
I guess it'll be the Paladin, but there is also a possibiliy mesmer will get fused with some other class to form a new one. Hmm.. My bet is on Paladin tho - a fusion of Monk and Dervish or Paragon? Hmm... But it doesn't really make sense as a soldier class. We'll see... Lol it's killing me, the wait is killing me!

i think they will definitely put monk and mesmer into the game.
monk was a key figure in gameplay in gw1 and also in lots of lore n stuff.
really no point for them to not include it. then again it will be more offensive, just like everything else in gw2.
i doubt assassin will be back. mesmer can inclue everything assassin had and still stay a mesmer.

There's already about 5 of these types of threads just for the remaining four races... why not necro (and read) one of those threads so we don't have redundancies?
First off... NO Paladin. Paladin is not a word Anet would use to describe one of their characters. It doesn't fit the lore at all. While the mechanics might be similar to some other game's pallys, the GW2 version will be more versatile than just a a tank with heals.
Second, I remember reading a statement from Anet that engineer isn't the name of the gunner class. (will try to find link later)
So the list of the final four classes in my mind will be:
-Tactician--the new gunner class
-Arcanist--mesmer mechanics, able to use pistols
-Vagabond--assassin/dervish hybrid
-Acolyte--the new heavy armor class (I'm hoping for it to be able to fight barehanded/ with a staff in melee)
From left -> right, here's what I think the 4 remaining classes are: (their names may be different though)
Gunner :: You can make out a charr holding a multi-barrelled cannon in the sillhouette
Assassin :: Aka christmas tree
Mesmer :: This sillhouette looks strikingly like the mesmer character from GW1
Paladin :: This one's a little harder to make out. He looks like he plate armor, and is holding either a staff or a greatsword.
While you may be right about the naming, the concept very much fits into the lore. You could think of it as a Dervish- like class, using the blessing of the different gods to help in combat. As was true in the first game, you are probably also correct in ascerting that it will not simply be a warrior with heals, but quite a bit different than that. If I had to guess, I'd say it would be a more support-heavy version of the warrior. We've seen a lot of DPS classes so far, but not too much in the way of group support yet.
When the Ritualist first came out, I thought it was an awful class....I thought they MIGHT rethink it, and keep it...but it's basically a turret-based class....wtf are you gonna do with that? You'll incorporate it into your new class...
So! My thoughts on the 4 remaining....
Assassin/Ninja: Never discount the possibility of renaming, simply from the point of marketing (you can play a frickin' NINJA!...yes, I know about Final Fantasy online)
Mesmer: A Guild Wars staple. This was so original, they would never get rid of it. I'm curious about its mechanics.
Monk: Yes, I think there'll be a new style monk....one closer to the fighting style...fists and stuff, but at the same time, be a great support character. (I hate to say it, but think WoW-style paladin).
Gunner/Engineer: I believe some Ritualist skills will be incorporated into this new class. At the same time, it'll be able to hold its own in a "firefight" (ie, people bringing axes down on their heads).
Those are my thoughts....will be interesting to see them get blown apart.
*edit*
I heard some people in GWGuru talking about a Corsair class, which would basically be a "Pirate" class. That seems VERY feasible to me, seeing how receptive Anet is to fan reaction. Pirates vs Ninjas? Yessir.
There will be 2 advanced classes based on assasin and Mesmer... they'll have a broader set of abbilities as the orriginal GW1 classes and a different name.
There will be 2 new classes, one of them should be a paladin like class incorporating both mellee abbilities and Monk like casting stuff waering heavy armor.
The other adventurer class should be centered about guns and and mellee, i doubt it will be an engineer as technologicall advancement is not equally dispstched through the races. A human engineer would make no sense.

Monks are officially not in game. They even have a lore explanation that has not been released yet.
Assassins and Mesmers are pretty different...If Mesmers are back in game (they need to be re-done if so), I doubt they'll take the place of a stealth/rogue class.
If there is no assassin I won't be surprised, since it seems the ranger took a lot from their "m.o."
This is my take on classes:
Blah blah blah ...
Necromancer
Blah Blah
NECROMANCER!
You stay sassy!
I would be a little. There's a concept art that is very similar to the concept art of the already revealed professions. It's dual wielding daggers and has a black aura about it. Rangers and Warriors both cannot dual wield daggers, so unless it's a caster class...
The other reason is that Anet said there's 2 returning professions left and then 2 new ones. Dervish and Paragon are not likely due to the removal of their weapons, monks have been stated to be out, and Ritualist seems like it was merged into Necromancer. The Mesmer's role (not style) has to change a lot in order to be in GW2, since there's no more hexes or e-denial and a lot less interrupts.
Just to clarify.
There is no primary healer= no monk or healer or cleric
Paladin= I dont Anet would ever use this generic and overused class
I am kinda interested in what the other 4 classes will be but since I see necromancer I already have my top pick in a class to play with second elementalist third dervish (not gonna be there from what I read) and 4th ranger. I am pretty sure well see assassin mesmer and the other 2 will likely be both new or a monk hybrid class and a new unknown just my guess.

A few things I would like to remind you of:
2 Classic Classes are returning, 2 new ones will be added: I am not 100% but true to form thus far, all 4 announced classes have been classic. I doubt you will see Mesmer under a different name, different mechanics for weapon usage maybe though. Guns and a larger focus on swords would be nice. Oh and, if Assassin is in, it will likely be called Assassin.
The other two are still up for discussion though. My bets are below
Also, There are 2 Adventurer (Ranger) , 1 Caster (Necro, Elementalist), and 1 Soldier (Warrior) left. That means if the Mesmer is in, the monk is not. However, a lot of you could be on to something with the "Paladin" concept, my vote however is a Soldier with spell capabilities. This character would take on a few of the Monks still applicable abilities and make Dervish players happy. The Engineer (Adventurer) would be there to make Ritualist and Paragon players happy.
I think they will be covering all their bases while leaving out classes that were really niche as far as the lore is concerned. That allows them to focus on lore, and spit out classes that are more streamline - and save names like Dervish, Paragon, and Ritualist for the history books.
All my opinion though. Assassin in my mind is definite, even if I will likely never play one.
People think it's fun to pretend your a monster. Me I spend my life pretending I'm not. - Dexter Morgan
I just started reading the book 'Ghosts of Ascalon', there was talk about a 'golemancer'.
Maybe that'll be a new profession too? Golemancer or Summoner could be.
Anybody has any idea if the main character in the book represents one of the classes? (maybe I should look it up on GW2Guru to see if that question has been mentioned there too in the book discussions)

I really really hope there have some type of hand to hand/martial arts characters. I love melee combat, but HATE being a warrior (its just so basic and i hate heavey armor) and I have being an assassin even more (don't care for beng sneaky). I like the hand to hand type class that deals good dmg and can move quick, but doesn't have to tank. This class has been missing in many MMOs lately. I'm sick and tired of being force to use weapons or magic.
Anyways, my guess is:
Martial Artist/brawler
Assassin
Mesmerish type of class mixed with something
summoner type class (maybe a ritualist only with more summons that can deal dmg)
I guess there won't be a paladin at launch, but rather a support/ smithing monk.

I was wondering if someone would bring up the comment about their different armor types limiting what classes there were. Glad you did. But I disagree about the Monk, because keep in mind with no dedicated healer class they could bring the Monk in as an up close hand to hand fighter. If they did that it would hardly make sense to give them Caster Gear. At that point I imagine they would slot into an Adventurer slot, probably not warrior just cause Monk + Plate seems weird in my mind. So I think Monk is still a distinct Adventurer possibility.
I like the idea of an Engineer class, they've made a lot of comments about the new technology playing a large role in the game. It would be kind of cool to use a gun user who got some nice abilities when using seige equipment and other environmental weapons. Dunno how likely the latter bit is, but I think a tech/gunner would be nice. Asura and Charr would definitely fit, Humans to a somewhat lesser degree. But Norn and Sylvari seem weird as a tech race to me. Since both are pretty big on nature/spirits/animals and what not. Tech almost seems too limiting. If it is in the game, my guess is it'd probably be Soldier.
Assassin/Theif is almost a guarentee, I personally always placed it as either the Necromancer slot [before it was revealed obviously] or the one behind it that looks like a christmas tree. I assumed it could be a big billowly cloak deal. But I think a duel weilding focused class is probably called for. Although someone else made a good point that Ranger has some of the same utlity now. I still think that they'll probably want something like Assassin for up close DPS and maybe some fun with poisons and that kind of thing. This would be Adventurer.
Edit: If you actually call it a Theif, then this is probably pretty close to the main character in Ghosts of Ascalon. About as close as you're liable to get with my guesses and what we currently have. Just putting that out there cause I just noticed someone talking about it above me.
And finally the Mesmer, the very female, kind of aluring looking woman pretty much got pegged as a Mesmer by everyone and their mother by this point. I have to agree, some weapon mechanic changes to update them to the current timeline would be nice but overall I think they will still be very recognizable as the final Caster armor class.
Give. Me. My.
Assassin.
Or thief, or rogue, or whatever the heck you want to call it. Just don't call it "Burglar" for crying out loud. Lamest name I've ever seen for that class in an MMO...ever.
