For those who bought the game, you have a chance of getting the inital price of the game back or to get another game of equal price for free.
Need to goto http://support.ea.com and present them with all information. Proof of Purchase and "maybe" Key Code. One friend was asked for it, I wasnt. Luckly I had saved all my emails from APB, so it was easy for me.

Yeah, a friend of mine just got credit from EA for his purchase of APB as well. Glad to see a company stepping up.
Pretty stand up of them. I wish I could've gotten a refund for Tabula Rasa. Sucks knowing you bought a game you'll never be able to play again.

It's not so bad if you really think about it. For the majority, EA is only offering one free game from their store as recompense for APB (only a few lucky ones are getting an actual refund), but there are also some strings attached, such as...
1. It can only be a digital game (can't be a physical hardcopy)
2. It has to be available now (you can't get a pre-order item)
3. It can only be used for PC games
4. You would have to tell them what game you would want when you contact them, meaning you couldn't save the free game for later or something (similar to #2 I guess)
As far as the coupon goes though, you could use it towards anything I think (console games, hardcopy games, and pre-orders, or future releases). You might even be able to use it towards SW:TOR, if that's something you're looking forward to. I went through the APB refund process myself and was offered one free game from their store, but would have much prefered the benefits of a coupon over a game. Spent like an hour looking through their store trying to decide what I wanted, because I didn't want any of them. I'd of much prefered the coupon myself for a future purchase (like SW:TOR for instance, or Crysis 2).
Well, I didn't want a refund, I wanted credit to buy a new game right away, since I can't play the game I paid for, and just because I bought it the 14th of july, it's somehow magically less frustrating for me, than it is for those who bought it on the 15th of july...?
And the coupon needs to be used within 60 days, so it can't be used for SW:TOR, I'm not sure I'm even gonna get that game anyway, but who knows.
I ended up getting a $20 promo code for my pre-7/15 APB. Better than 25% unless you spend more than $80 on games at once.
I'll take SWTOR for $30 over a random $50 that I don't really want.
you still need to use your promo code within 60 days.. So you can't use it for SW:TOR
