After playing many garbage storyiless and boring F2Ps I might go back to wow but then you wonder why you want to spend your nights wiping on saurfang with a shitty guild.

    Playing: WoW
Waiting On: SWTOR, GW2, Rift, TERA.

Because wiping in wow is still more fun than most other MMOs out there, sad but true.

I would have to say my fallback MMOs are either Vanguard or a handful of the f2p games out there.

Why do people say sadly when they refer to wow as there Fall back ? I am no games fan boy like I have blinders on for a game . Wow is the best MMO out there period . I just got done playing EVE online for a few months and that game is so f-ing boring and time consuming to no end . Wow will be my fall back until another game comes out that is just a well made Arcade style type game you can just jump in and have some good for for an hour or two get a few things done and call it a day if you like

So far ive played like 20-30 other MMO's P2P and also F2P and nothing even comes close to WOW overall polish ..however I have my fingers crossed that SWTOR or GW2 will take wow's place .

    LoTRO & EVE.

If LoTRO had come out same time as EQ2, i would have easily chosen it over EQ2 and would be playing it full time.  But as it stands, I've been playing EQ2 for 6 years, I'm very happy with the grouping and raiding gameplay it provides.  It has horrible lore and immersion however, so when i begin to miss those things, I tend to go play LoTRO and EVE.  Now that LoTRO is F2P, i think i'll keep as my permanent 2nd game.

I like MMOs in general, so i tend to try out most that are released.  Except WoW.

Where has some of your guys Willpower gone to?!!!

I read a lot of people who are ashamed to list WoW and add a supporting fact of "I know it's just going to be more of the same with more gear grinding and will be bored within 3 weeks". WoW was not my first MMO so maybe thats why it is easy for me to see it for what it is and be done with it for good? (started in EQ -> FFXI -> CoH)

Anyhow like other people posted I don't "need" an MMO so I don't have fallbacks, usually if I quit an MMO its for good. I did however resub to EVE after a year long break but I am mostly playing the market / PI while doing other things.

Maybe you guys should try other genres and games like League of Legends, World of Tanks, Team Fortress 2, Global Agenda, BF BC 2, R.U.S.E. or a deadly concoction of them all and Im pretty sure you won't be needing an MMO unless you happen to be newer to the genre (2005 and on).

    IDK just my thoughts.

They say sadly because it's like that fat chick. It's something, but it's embarrassing because it's garbage. If you consider 2 xpacks, no real additional content except for watering what's already watered down more, all the while having nigh unlimited funds "the best", then I question your ability to look objectively at any issue. It's no where near the best, it's just what you're used to.

    Wurm.

I played for almost 2 years then took a break for God knows how long. Got convinced to get back in my the buds I played with back then, and found out my deed (which I busted ass on) was still standing. So I was psyched, and have something to occupy my time when I'm not dabbling between half a dozen F2Ps.

    Guild Wars2

Untill now i have been jumping around and haven't found a good home since playing EQ, DAoC and WoW all for 3 consecutive years...

Guild wars 2 will change that.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Don't have a fallback mmo.. I don't fall back on an mmo when I'm bored of it. But I do have a fallback game:

age of empires 2, playing it online with friends, oldskool, fun, and my fallback :)

    It has always been WoW.

However, this thread proves that most people don't even understand the meaning of the word fallback :D

    I don`t have one.

This is my fall back MMo: yes MMORPG.com :P it's just so fun talking to people and trying to figure out some peoples logic and doing the repeatable dungeons, i like the different difficulity types like: This game is bad, this game will suck. I don't want to discuss things with you. Your an idiot (I like this last dungeon alot it gets funnier each time i run it)  It's truely the only MMO that keeps changing, though the repeats of some dungeon runs (posts) get annoying at some times. Wish i could just run all of them at once but alas,  not all dungeons can be originals and they do have to repeat each other as times. Guess thats just how MMOs go.

No really, my fallback MMO is any asian grinder or vindictus otherwise i only play games i'm really interested in until i'm not anymore.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

I might dink around with LoTRO when I grab a new PC for TOR next yr. Also bought a copy of DDO for 5 bucks that  I never used.

TOR will be the first MMO I have played steady since 06, and will probably be the last. If I end up not liking it at launch, and really wanted a serious MMO for a while, I would probably reopen my EQ1 accounts.

That wouldnt last long though I would imagine.

Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

  • FE and DFO, every once in a while I'll resub to one of them for a month, although I only end up playing for 1-2 weeks if that.

EQ2 and Runescape. They're always there for me and I enjoy them both (even though RS is newer to me as a member). I'll try a lot of other things, as I always have, and sometimes even spend years (WoW) playing something else alongside, but my "fallbacks" are my real game "homes." My houses in EQ2 and all my crafters....make that my all the time "home base." Those are places I return when other places go stale. :)

For years it was DAOC when something new  failed.  But I refuse to pay 14.95 a month for a game that hasn't been updated or anything in years. now it's DDO.

Having played all of the mmos I consider playable it is just betas etc for me these days.

Although I did go back to a game I had played a long time ago and avoided because when the game changed hands my old character did NOT transfer and I was unwilling to start from scratch...  Well it is several years later and ...

    Pangya golf of all things.

Other than that I have been fooling around with kitsu saga a bit.  Not a horrible ftp game if a little "busy."
