What's the point of getting excited about upcoming new AAA releases? I am not looking forward to being disappointed. I am, however, looking forward to all the gnashing of teeth and stamping of feet from self deceived players (ala FFIV) .
Ok. that's rather cynical. I guess I am looking forward to WoD and maybe GW2.
We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!
"Everything you're bitching about is wrong. People don't have the time to invest in corpse runs, impossible zones, or long winded quests. Sometimes, they just want to pop on and play." "Then maybe MMORPGs aren't for you."
The ease with which predictions are made on these forums: Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."
1. 40K Online; Vigil impressed me with Darksiders, so excited to see what the cross-teaming between them, Relic, THQ and GW will bring about.
2. Secret World: kinda-sorta lovecraftian/asian-theology near-future-flawed setting, okay, I can get behind that.
3. FireFall: Most impressive of all the MMO's that were at PAX this year, and it wasn't even playable like the rest...
4. Unnamed Undead Labs Zombie MMO: Hater's gonna hate, but I'm really excited for the prospect of a good, dedicated console-MMO. Standardized hardware FTW in terms of development pipeline!
5. DCUO: Sure it's SoE, and looks like a CoX clone, but hey, CoX wasn't that bad, and unlike both CoX/CO universes, I actually give a damn about DC characters. Fighting against-alongside characters you know/relate to is > random jack-offs that are just Batman-clone, Supe's-clone, Ironman-clone, etc.
I'm actually excited in general by all the work being done to bring MMO's to consoles. Sure, they're not going to be for the old-old-old-timers in MMOs, but they don't need to be. They just need to forge new ground into console MMO's and make their own names for themselves.
Lets Push Things Forward
I knew I would live to design games at age 7, issue 5 of Nintendo Power.
Support games with subs when you believe in their potential, even in spite of their flaws.
It's the only mmo that has put features on the table and provided interesting information as well as recently playable-demo footage to warrant any expectations of a fun/lasting game.
Guild wars 2 mostly, i'm also looking forward to TERA, but after what i have read about the EU publisher i doubt ill play it, but we'll see how it turns out. Maybe ill play it on the US servers if my ping isnt too bad, i got a 30/30Mbit connection so i think it will be okay, i can play Mount and Blade fine on US servers with 150 ping.
I think there was another game too, but i cant remember it right now, so its prolly not that interesting
Im hoping Mortal Online will develop to be a great game eventually, i really like that game on paper, but atm its lacking in the polish / content deparments.

In order of interest:
1. Guild Wars 2
2. SW: The Old Republic
3. The Secret World: 1st horror/urban fantasy MMO to hit the scene with the best theme and setting of them all. Period.
4. World of Darkness: looks definitely intruiging, plus it's CCP, so interesting sanbox mechanics are in for sure.
5. Rift.
6 and on: TERA, Vindictus, Firefall, Jumpgate Evolution.

Quite a few games that are interesting but as for the upcoming MMo, theres no question for me: ToR.
Running a somewhat close second is GW2. I may try that later if i get free time between ToR.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
1 - RIFT
2 - TERA
3 - GW2
4 - FORSAKEN WORLD
I guess that I could add The Secret World and Earthrise to the list.
These games holds some interest by me but not by far as much as those three games that I mentioned in my original post.
And I liked it better when The Secret World was called Cry Gaia because it stood out more and it's a much better name imo.
All those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
SWTOR
GW2 maybe someday when they do a collective release of all addons.
WoD
There is no MMO I'm planning to play longtime, though. For that, there would have to be a Vanguard successor.
Or any project really that would get close to my vision of the ideal MMO.
Here is my list:
1. Rift: Planes of Telara
2. Everquest Next (3)
I want to play mmorpg including high fantasy and gothic environment, Rift and Everquest lore has them.
GW2
Zentia - So far really impressed with beta
Isnt Everquest next out allrdy? i tought that was just the free version of EQ2, pretty sure ive seen commercials arround here for it.
Currently Playing Path of Exile
Guild Wars 2

Black Prophecy - looks interesting F2P so we'll see how it goes
EarthRise - also interesting but need more info
