DC Universe Online: Combat and Metropolis Fly Through Videos

From the 'better late than never' files: Sony Online Entertainment and the DC Universe Online development team recently released a pair of videos featuring a look at in-game combat and a fly over video for the great city of Metropolis. Folks who have been clamoring for all things DCUO will not want to miss either of these! Check them out at sister site GamerTube.com.

I guess the bad animation will be fixed when they get out of beta, but really, with all those graphics flying around...it looks like an asian grinder! Really dislike the looks of it.
I know it is just beta, but it is a shame that they have such a cool cinematic (with the disclaimer about it not being anything like gameplay) and such horrible looking gameplay videos.
I mean the overall look of the game. It looks like a mildly less gimpy version of CO.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

HOLY CRAP, all those EFX and HORRIBLE animations everywhere. The hell is the release date for this game? It shouldn't be for another year AT LEAST so they can get all that nasty particle EFX taken care of and the animations smoothed out. If there's one thing I can't fault CoX or Champions Online, is that they had smooth to smooth'ish animations and decent particle EFX at launch.
(NOTE: I said "at launch" because you CANNOT compare a 2+ yr old game to one in beta)

Oh my friends, the animations in that video are indeed horrible, but there are better animations out there, and the gameplay looks much better in the videos linked in this thread:

Thats the newest of the new in terms of videos and animations. The gameplay looks fantastic in those, the environments look good, and the animations are easier to see and look better to me.
For the life of me, I just cannot get past the fact that the game looks like a "console" game instead of a "PC" game. Even before I knew it was going to be on the PS3 as well, I had that odd feeling that this was like console action/adventure games I had played...

Err, those are old vids posted up here at least 2 weeks ago. There are other vids kickign around with much better animations, and just plain better vids... the eidting on those were terribad.
