Question About Mage Pheonix Skill

justing943justing943 Member Posts: 2

Hi Forum!

I'd just like to ask, I have a level 18/10 Mage/Priest, and I believe I stuffed up my Mage skills =S. They are as follows: At the moment, 18 Fireball[I never use it, ever], 18 Wisdom, 18 Flame[My most used skill] and 18 Phoenix[WOOPS]. I don't know what made me max my phoenix at my level. Should I reroll, or leave it ? =S

I've read that you get an advanced reset stone at level 30 or something like that, but I also read you need two or something to reset your skills...and from what I've read Phoenix prooobably isn't the best AoE skill, so I don't think I want to keep it at higher levels, either. Exams are almost over and holidays are in one week, so I have plenty time to remake =D What should I do? Oh, and also, on my Priest I have level 10 Rising Tide, Urgent Heal, and Regen.

My battle skills are ONLY Flame[at level 18, currently hitting 700-800, followed by rising tide and alternating].

Basically, did I stuff up my skills by maxing pheonix? =S

What would I be recommended to do

Thanks in advance,

-justing

just leave it.  getting any skill to 50 is really cheap.  just try not to make too many more mistakes like that because your main skills you want to keep close to max will start to fall behind.

there is no tp cap so even when you max lvl, you will still be able to get tp points

Cool thanks! =D Yeah, I'm going to try and put TP in my skills properly from now on. I've seen that there are pretty much 3 skills I wanna always keep on max, Flame, Essence of Magic, and...I forget XD

    Perhaps Lightning.

Just leave it.  You can max every single skill eventually as the flow of TP never stops even at max lvl.

i know this an old post but really, u never use fireball? lol i hope ur playing on pve carebear server.

    mage max's the following:

    fireball

    lightning

    silence

wisdom ( called wisdom but increases ur int )

intensification - increases dmg of next spell cast, cast b4 ur flame, watch things die

ull notice that all of the above are the shared mage skills, im sure u can figure out why ur gunna max them.....

if ur on pvp server and i hope u are, no reason to play if ur not, flame, lightning, fireball, flame, silence, flame, rpt as nessesary is ur standard pvp formula till u get higher levels. even then, the standard holds up nicely.

after u max those and in the case of flame, while ur maxxing those, ull max the following

flame, its ur nuke, without it u are useless

discharge, another stun, u cant get enough of these, aoe stun with damage, goodness and yummy

purg, purg is spammable aoe, pheonix is a cone shape, blah, purg is circle. purg wins. its my o shit spell. its also what makes u useful in some instances, discharge, purg, get used to it. also get used to moving while using it.

tstorm. slows them down and does 3 ticks of dmg. another aoe. usefull in all low level instances up to kalins id say, maybe hoto for trash mobs. also its ur pve starter spell, tstorm to aggro and dmg them, discharge when they get close, and purg to finish. its why mages level so quick.

fire knowledge - makes ur fire spells more effective. no brainer here

wind knowledge - same for wind, no brainer

the rest u can choose as to what suits u, u want antoher stun, level up the stuff that puts u in charge state. u want a fail aoe, level pheonix. blah blah blah and ect... there are other spells i cant live without and of course there are your elite choices, but this is the basic mage formula, tried and true. deviate at your own risk of fail.

Thanx i have been wanting to answer a question like this since i experrienced ROM first hand. Okay here we go, first the only good gear is the purp's and orange (Purps's have a low drop rate but orange drop rates are lol) If and when you get one of these drops you must then see if the stats will match with your dual class(They wont trust me) & this is where the item shop comes into play (And before i go on about the CS, let me first say that i have np with CS aslong as it isnt imposing, its just that if i had to choose i would rather get a LS to something on par $200-$300 over spending insane amounts of money on one character<--- Anything bought in the CS for a character becomes bound to that character even mounts) , you will need cleaning stones, drill slots, upgrade stones (And a lock for you gear if you play on the pvp server) The cleaning stones to remove bad stats, drill slots to create more slots to place stats on gear & upgrade stones to make them armore pieces nice and shiny like (The game will give you a free system to upgrade anything to level +3 but beyond that dont waiste your gold) now im not going to play the numbers game into how much all of this will cost lets just say ive done enough reading on there official forums and witnessed and talked to players who have admitted to spending upwards of $1000-$2000 to clean, drill & upgrade all of there gear. Because i knew i would never spend that much i let my $14.99 that i gave frogster sink down the drain and uninstalled. ROM is a good game especially for a f2p but trust others when they say things like end game is CS or that others wont want to group with you unless you are all decked out with uber gear in the highest dungeons.

It actually depends heavily on what do you expect from the game itself. If end game means running Raksha and nothing less then right now it is the truth. However instances like hoto or ori are still kinda reasonable although if you want to get to anything close to endgame by doing them you will see that you need significantly more time than players who actually pay. Especially if you are a tank. Far less painful in case of healers or rdps classes but still the difference is significant.
