I know there's apparently an MMO that's in pre-production right now for this IP, but somehow I doubt it will ever see the light of day. If it was done right I think it could make an incredible game. There's such a richness to the world that would really translate well to game form, I think, as long as the magic system was done right. I always thought Asheron's Call drew a lot of inspiration from the Wheel of Time, especially the Bael'Zharon story arc with the 7 crystal seals.
I think a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle MMO would be intersting, off the pen and paper RPG not just the cartoon. I just found it very limitless and open. Would seem easy to have unique player characters and NPCs.

I'm also tempted to add Wheel of Time, but I have the feeling that book series wouldn't translate well to an mmo.
Shadowrun would be so great as an mmo, too bad Microsoft owns the copyrights and all they've done with it is make a lousy first person shooter. Shadowrun, as a first person shooter, they all ought to be smacked up side the head.
Discworld .. I want to play around in Ankh-Morpork. I think that world is fleshed out well enough to provide a ton of humorous gaming experiences.
2nd choice .. Chronopia - http://www.chronopiaworld.com/kat.php?id=4 .. if you are bored and have time, you can actually download the books in pdf format from this site and read the lore. Enjoyed the stories and background for the factions, and the IP rights are probably cheap to buy up.
I'd love to see a Discworld MMO. Then again, the Discworld MUD already exists, and is close to perfect except for obviously lacking graphics. I'd expect something similar, and just be disappointed when they released a wow clone instead of something like a modern version of UO with a more advanced skill system. Oh well, it'll never happen, but I do think the game world and setting would make a great backdrop for an MMO. The lore, and locations would be mostly pre-defined, and awesome, but the developers would have (close to) full creative freedom when it came to designing game mechanics.
So what IP would you love to see become the next major MMO, but are pretty sure won't?
I personally would love to see a Robotech/Macross MMO.
I've always enjoyed the lore in that series and would be really happy to see a MMO set in that world. What fan wouldn't want to be a Veritech pilot or a Zentradi warrior.
Seeing how the IP is pretty old and not very popular anymore. I imagine it'll never find itself to MMO status.
You nailed my choice on the first post. Robotech would have a lot of room for a good MMO. That said, single-player Robotech games have generally been less then impressive in my opinion, so this might be a case of careful what you wish for :P

There! That's the post I was waiting for!! Ummm I cannot remember what IP I want made into a mmo....hmmm...Tron maybe..or The Pawn (I loved that game to death)

How about He-Man or Thundercats or G.I. Joe? Also, did anyone already mention the Dark Tower/Stephen King series? Or the Dresden Files/Jim Butcher IP? I'm sure someone could do better than the t.v. series...
A Buffy/Angel one. I always thought the whole modern world but living among demons, vamps, other dimensions, etc. would have made a cool MMO, especially if you could play good or evil.

Harry Potter.

I can't believe this hasn't already been said....Dragonlance. That universe is almost unbeatable in it's history and lore.
Wheel of Time

or
a REAL Star Trek MMO not made or touched by Craptic
I want a full on Forgotten Realms MMO but am doubtful I will ever get it.
A Fable MMO would be fun too.

Grow your own ships, swords with laserbeams. Nice.
Frank Herbert's Dune Universe would make a great MMO. Bene Gesserit, CHOAM, Bene Tleliax, Guild, Fremen, Landsraad and many others for factions/races.
Better than Star Wars IMO .
I wonder what classes there would be...
Ninja
Leader
Machinist
Cool Dude
Party Dude
Samurai
Mastermind
Footsoldier
Shadowrun
Mass Effect
