So yeah.. I like all those things in the title.. Is this game for me? Let me be a little more specific first tho..
I've been playing MMO's for a long time.. I've recently been playing f2p MMO's more the p2p; only because i've pretty much played all the p2p MMO's out there ATM! The only p2p MMO i'am currently subbed too is EvE! I like the game a lot but the PvE kills it for me.. It's way to basic and the missions are too boring to hold my attention.. I end up logging in, running a mission, updateing my skills, and logging out.. The PvP in EvE is fun but too far and few between.
Things i like about EvE: the player market system, the player ran corps/wars, the politics, corps being able to take over space sovreignity..
Things I didnt like about EvE: 1-sided missions usually all boiling down into the same thing, being way too behind people because how the skill system is set up, and how boring it is to earn isk mineing/doing other pve.
I also like Mechs.. I loved Gundam Wing.. I loved Front Mission searies.. A Mech MMO always intrigued me and this one is no different..
I'am a fan of PvP.. Any MMO i played has been pretty PvP-heavy.. I'am just tired of having to spend a fortune in f2p games to get good at PvP; or loseing to someone who has spent a fortune.. That's why i was pretty happy when i learned this was going to be released a p2p MMO.. I certainly hope this is the case!
So.. based off that what do you guys think? Will i have a good time with this game? Does it have the awsome pvp i'am craveing? Do you fight over land with you're clan/legion? Is the pve entertaining? It's really hard to find any previews on the game.. And before i downloaded the trial i thought i'd get some opinions first.

Meh i couldn't wait for any responses.. I'am downloading the game now! There are way more previews on the game now since when i last checked; must be because its had some weeks to develope and gain population since its in open beta.. Everything i've read so far has gotten me EXTREMLEY excited! I guess you could say i'am more excited about playing/testing this game then i have been for the past few f2p MMO's i started up..
It just sounds so much like EvE and in a good way.. I found out theres "Intrusions" or something added (or being added) that allows you to fight and claim for you're corp.. That takes care of my PvP questions! As long as you can fight for land like that then i know my PvP satisfaction is taken care of lol.. I also read how that the skills play out a lot like EvE; but you don't have to que them up all the time.. Which is awsome, now when i take off for a week on vacation or w/e i won't have to worry about requeing skills..
Only thing i'am unsure of is the PvE.. I certainly hope the PvE is better in this game then EvE.. And i can't really find anything about the "quests" in this game.. Is there quests? I mean, i don't mind grinding, but i'd really like a simple quest line sorta to give me a reason to do so.. As long as the PvE isn't as one demensional as EvEs.. I also read that mineing in this game is boring, but i'am not much of a "miner" anyways.. Even in EvE i found ways around mineing to earn isk lol
look foward to seeing you all soon! Jus sucks this game isnt "released", because i know that after open beta there will be a wipe.. Oh well, atleast i have a chance to test it for free now.

Hi. Ill be short.
Perpetuum online created by small team, and during beta-testing this team have close conversation with players.
Perpetuum online use procedurically generated world, and this world elements like terrain, plants, trees, resources can be changed by players.
Social and pvp sides of this game in awesome. Espetially stratigically and tactically based pvp.
In future content patch player organisations will able to build ingame cities, and make very expanded territorial control. And this is all in one server.
I think every mmo player must get some expirience in this perspective game, what have no analogues.
I find the PvE combat to be on par with EVE. I like the controls better because it is my beloved WASD, also hiding behind plants and beign able to destroy them is nice, but it is not otherwise a totally different feel.
"Never met a pack of humans that were any different. Look at the idiots that get elected every couple of years. You really consider those guys more mature than us? The only difference between us and them is, when they gank some noobs and take their stuff, the noobs actually die." - Madimorga
CCP should just buy the thing merge it with EvE and call it Planetary Pnteraction. (Yeah teh current one sucks...) Noone would notice it wasn't an original part of the game.
And CCP could even use it as an excuse to implement all the nice fixes to EvE gameplay issues that this game has come up with.
i thought this same thing. have people that only drive/fly mechs on the planet surface while a space battle happens above the planet? sounds awesome.
have things i likied in EVE
and dont have one i didnt like
i love that WSAD + terrain that is important in combat
i just played few hours only and now waiting for retail but i hope devs wont fail and game is finished and game will not fail in "endgame"
So this is EVE on a planet? Interesting.
I was never a mission runner in EVE. I can count the amount of times I did missions.. I think. I also hated rating for isk in EVE.
While the assignment system in Perpetuum is pretty close to the mission system in EVE, you may not like that side of it. But straight out npc hunting is much more fun in Perpetuum for me than ratting in EVE ever was.
The PVP in Perpetuum is awesome. And once you get into your first fight you will see how different it is then EVE.
PVP is a blast and they do have outposts that corps can fight over for control with what is called the intrusion system.
Later on corps will be able to build there own outposts/base etc. and also be able to terraform the area.
Been trying out the OB atm after stumbling upon it by chance a few days ago and I gotta say it looks just like what I have been looking for. Since Shadowbane went down there has been an mmo shaped hole in my heart and Perpetuum seems a comfy fit.
There doesn't seem to be a huge number playing right now, but it looks good, runs slick and once the initial disorientation fades, thanks to the tutorial, its quite immersive too, so that will likely remedy itself.
I think lack of exposure is the only thing holding it back right now. Sleeper hit inc?
Its Eve on the ground highly recommend this if you enjoy this sorta thing.
