Has there been a way to change fourm log-in information making it different than in-game log-in information? or vice-versa?
You know many companys do this?
Look at Perfect World Entertainment.. You use you're same log in info to get onto their forums.. and PWE is a very big F2P company.. Battle.net even requires you're log in info + CDKEY..
Dosn't seem like a real valid complaint LOL..

Hmm, I wouldn't really call it a complaint. But it is a question I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to as well especially with all the things that went on with WoW and Aion both with the massive account thefts for awhile.
Your game login and forum login are the same for any account. So this is how it still works...
The email / password you use to log into the game is the same you use to log in to the forums and account info on the website.
Read some of his other threads where he does in fact complain of this.. It is actually a standard affair for MMO games.. Sure it'd be nice for it to change, but theres no reason they'd need to do that.. If you have a key logger on you're computer then it dosnt matter if you type you're password in or out of game.. And if you fall for a false link to the website, well, tough luck i guess? It has happened to me once before back on Diablo 2 (7 years ago) and i havn't fallen for the that same trick once afterwords.

I'm not going to go into complete details on how to compromise a site or a persons private info, but...all one needs is...meh. i'll not go into it at all. If you people trust the way the site is set up, it's all good. I however have seen what happens..

This would only send the info to the owner of the email address.
cool - considering a second account
Why are you trying to scare people away from this game on a daily basis. Everything from RAM usage to making people think they are going to get there info stolen. Are you an disgruntled ex-employee of Avatar Creations or something?
I can' t answer your question with a simple lesson on account security, useage of same names and how easily it is tracked via simple means, as it would result in a ban...
I can say I feel like I'm asking simple questions that -we- the gamers -should- be asking.
I can say, Have you seen the amount of time the -perpetuum team- Has been putting into calmy, answering almost EVERY question I have asked? Does that not say something, right there about their dedication to the game? Does that not make you think "gee...if they can do that perhaps they really are capable of making a game and have it being a success" ?
Doesn't it make you think, hey these guys must have some real drive? Something more than maybe just greed?
I will part with this. People need to think outside of the box, and look at the way things are being handled.
++ REP to the people who have tirelessly answered my seemingly endless barrage of questions, that are being taken the wrong way. You know who you are
If you suggest doing it a different way, then what? Use your account's username? Something other than the avatar name you see on the forums? You do realize that ALL OF THESE would be stored on the website or some related server, so stealing that information would be just as easy as getting hold of the email address currently used.
Regardless, you need the password anyway, which basically negates anything even if you get the email of the user. Whats the point? Trying to make arguments filled with so many holes is just asking for your reputation as a game bashing butthurt troll. Sure, some posts may be helpful and even informative, but when its contrasted with threads like these it doesnt matter how much you try to be constructive in other threads.
I can not answer you with proper information as it will result in a ban.
You cant suggest an alternative method? Seriously? I'm not asking you to explain how to infiltrate their servers to obtain user emails and passwords.
Stop failing and read.
It isn't up to me to design security for a website. It is common sense amongst the MMO gaming industry and it's users that using the same info for multiple log-ins is bad.
Some sites were compromised and their databases were breached via exploits in the adds they were running.
Its good that the perpetuum site does not run adds on it then huh?
I couldn't tell you. I haven't seen adds, pop-ups, flash or any of that garbage in quite a long time.
