i would think it would be sweet if for example if you choose to follow Superman, to be able to train with him not only in Metropolis but also The Fortress of Solitude.

That would be interesting.
However, I think you do get the the opprotunity to go to the fortress of solitude at higher levels, especially as a villian. They've already shown that they've made special lairs like the Batcave raid material.
Hopefully, something within the story line has you visit there as a hero, especially mentoring under Superman.
I'm assuming from the character create video that we only get 3 choices (maybe more later on? hopefully.) I am curious as to who the third Villian choice will be I assuming the other two are Lex and Joker.
i think the third is circe.

Yes, Lex, Joker and Circe are the villian mentors.

how much potential do you think this game has? Im seriously thinking about giving it a go just because im a big DC fan and fan of superman (smallville)
Personally, I feel this game has tons of potential. Whether they can fulfill that potential I'm not sure. From what I've seen, the game play is pretty fantastic, and though it could use a little polish still, it seems pretty fun.
No I have not gotten into beta yet. ...
now i also wonder lets say i create my hero would i be able to go out and fight lex luthor or the joker and fight along side with superman and or batman or do they get to fight their enemies?
I was thinking Black Adam was other mentor based on the armor it showed in one vid you can get from a mentor..
Dustin
You will fight alongside or against a variety of heroes and villians that make up the DC universe.
The armors are level cap rewards you work towards, and there are more than a few.
The mentors are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and their arch enemies: Joker, Lex Luthor, and Circe respectively.
IGN has some looong, but fantastic beta playthrough videos. They also answer viewer questions, so a lot of info there. Find it on Youtube. It is DC sanctioned.
My biggesrt concern is: I want to play it on PS3, for various reasons, but I fear the console audience might not support a subscription game. And there is NO cross-platform play. Decisions, decisions.
I was having the same dilemma, so when I bought my pre-order on PC, I bought a PS3 style PC controller, problem solved
I have play station to USB adapter, but I was gonna go PS3 version for I wouldn't ever have to worry about system specs..
Dustin
I thought about that, but I was more concerned with subscription rate on PS3 and a bunch of empty servers, so PC won out in my mind. But hopefully it blows up, with a ton of subscribers and no one has anything to worry about.
According to DCUO Source, a site that the developers themselves frequent and engage in the forums, the majority are going the PS3 route. There was a poll in the forum a couple weeks back and I believe it was about 60% PS3, 40% PC. And out of those, it was split pretty evenly between PvE and PvP server (47% I believe) and the rest on RP servers.
Although cross platform servers is the best solution, SOE seems pretty convinced the PC players will have a leg up on the console players for some strange reason.
i preordered the pc version but my friends from work are geting the ps3 version. I wonder if PC and PS3 would be able to play on the same server and or which version is better ps3 or pc?
I recall seeing on face book one of the developers saying that PC and PS3 are not going to be interplayable.
Whether they've changed their mind about this remains to be see.
