Question before buying in...

Before I actually start playing I want to know one thing.

Can you you successfully be a good fighter and not bother with crafting and playing witht he market?  I am a simple man and I want to shoot things. Not collect ore and watch charts and graphs to figure out how to get money.

No one can say how market will look like at given point.

The best advice is to join a corporation, they should supply you with all you need.

    Short answer is yes.

Obviously you have to make money, which I'd assume you'd do by killing stuff and selling the loot.  The kernals (used to research tech to be able to mass produce something) are very small and the most valuable part of the loot, and basically every time you kill something 1 drops.  This would be your main income.

You dont need to do any market play if you dont want to.  Finding the best prices is easy to do and everything is sold on the 3 main islands which are easily traveled between with a teleport connecting each.  You might put some levels into getting more sell orders so you get better prices for your stuff, but selling to orders isnt that bad as long as you avoid the low ball bids.

This game is a highly corp-centric one, though.  I strongly recommend finding a corp to play with, and you can surely do your part in whatever you feel like doing.  They will need kernals to be self sufficient, so you can give them ones you gather in exchange for them building gear for you to pew pew with.

Without a corp you may not find things to do all of the time except just make more money and wait for EP to build.  A corp certainly adds much more to do as well as broadening your view of the game.  Going solo is certainly possible, but you're not getting the full game experience IMHO.

Absolutely.  This kind of game thrives on exactly people like you.  Because there is people who just want to shoot things and then there is people that don't want to shoot things but that need protection or need things to get shot up.  So it makes for great interaction.

You're worried that manufacturing by non-crafters will effect crafters?  I'm not sure I follow.
