Hey forum

Me and my brother are looking for a new game to play together. He and I usually either share and account or play the same game at once, so since we quit WoW we're looking for a new game together.

Features we're looking for are...

-World PvP. Doesn't have to be, like, awesomesauce, as long as it freakin exists.

-Balanced PvP. As long as the classes are balanced. If one faction pwns another we don't really care.

-More than one race. I really don't want to ONLY have the option of Humans.

-Fantasy. I don't have anything against Sci-Fi, but Fantasy's my thing.

-OK graphics. As long as its not 2D and has a frame rate of 1 I don't really care.

-Costs no more than 100 dollars to play. I have around 100 dollars available to start up in a game, no more than that though.

-Raiding's fine too, but not that important.

-Decent population.

So that's about it.

List of games we've already played/checked out.

-WoW

-Warhammer Online (If there's something like this it'd be great. WAR, unfortunately, has a low and dropping population.)

-Global Agenda (Pretty fun, however jumping forward off cliffs every 30 seconds or so got a tad annoying. However the PvP in it was fun.)

-Allods Online

-PWI

I'll add more to the list as I remember and also as I check out games people suggest.

Hope to see some good suggestions!

The answer is 42 you idiot!

Try LOTRO, it recently became F2P, and it got okey graphic and is pretty much like wow

    Mmmmmm, like WoW how?

I'm not big on the whole "Everyone gets to in-game without any skill or intelligence." thing.

If it's like pre-WOTLK or pre-BC though it'd be nice.

I believe the LOTRO PVP (monster play) is subscription only. It's not that good anyways. The actual game fits everything but the PvP bit though...

Darkfall has pretty much everything on your list I think, it's a lot more hardcore than the games you listed as previously played though.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

    1. Did just check out LOTRO. Unfortunately it downloads through Pando so I can't download it (contacted Pando many other times, bastards won't help me -_-)

    2. Darkfall does look pretty awesome, but i've tried to download it before and my PC can't handle it. I take two steps and it crashes. Along with this, like you said, it's pretty hardcore, and i'm not big on "lose everything if you get mixed up". But hey, that's just me.

    3. Something more like RuneScape style would be ok. Meaning that you don't lose EVERYTHING and are able to keep some things. I don't mind losing all of my money, but I go a tad nuts when the chest plate I spent 3 months of time to acquire gets taken from me.

I dont think there is a game out right now that you haven't tried that has what you're looking for population and PVP wise.

When did you play Warhammer? if recently, then I'm not sure what to recommend. If it was before the last servers were merged, you migth do a new trial. It is pretty well populated now. On the other hand, kinda surprised you had trouble running darkfall and not WAR, they seem to suck about the same amount on my computer.

Maybe I will give WAR another peek. I'm downloading Dark Fall at the moment to give it another try and hopefully try to fix the whole graphics thing i'm having.

Also, I ran WAR just fine. Sure, maybe a little lag, but that's about it. I'm not sure why Dark Fall crashes on me.

Hrmmm. Don't know but Darkfall has very elaborate and resource hogging shadows. They look really good granted, but many people have a big performance increase when they turn off the world shadows. Plus, you can hide in them, so people turn them off for PvP anyway.

    Really now?

I read a bit about the game being a bit more realistic for people who, say, wanted to be an assasin (meaning they would have to use cover instead of some magical spell).

What other kind of stuff can you do?

World PvP exists, but it isn't awesomesauce :D

-Balanced PvP. As long as the classes are balanced. If one faction pwns another we don't really care.

Class balancing is alright in EQ2.

-More than one race. I really don't want to ONLY have the option of Humans.

There are 19 races in the game.

-Fantasy. I don't have anything against Sci-Fi, but Fantasy's my thing.

    Check.

-OK graphics. As long as its not 2D and has a frame rate of 1 I don't really care.

The graphics are still really nice to look at.

-Costs no more than 100 dollars to play. I have around 100 dollars available to start up in a game, no more than that though.

You can play for free as long as you want, but you'll have to pay 14 bucks or so, if you really want to enjoy the game.

-Raiding's fine too, but not that important.

There are more than enough raids in EQ2.

    -Decent population.

    Not big, not small.

Everquest 2 has all the features you want. It's "F2P" now, so you can give it a try.

You could also try Vanguard, it's similiar to EQ2 in many ways.

Another idea would be DAoC, if you're really into realm wars.

There's also a lot of F2P games that fit your description, but I wouldn't play any of them.
