If the combat is even half as detailed as EVE's it should be good, at least once the community has begun to grasp it's finer points.

    +1 QFT

And to all of you who are talking about EvE and how dull and slow it is: Its hard to belive u guys have tried it, EvE is maybe the most complex MMO out there, and if u have ever watched an EvE pvp tourny u would have known its pretty fast, require alot of skill and alot of planning.

and another important thing, EvE aint made for solo-pvp even if it is possible compared to other mmo's.

i am not saying EvE is perfect, far from it, but its one of the best if u see it from an objective point of view and ignore personal preferences.

    ps: sorry for bad english.

No eves combat while the calc of damage/hit might be complex, the combat itself is not. Its super simple and deadly boring.

Once i know weapon * range * falloff i know the opt range. All i have to do is click orbit at that range.. Not complex. I might orbit or fly away for 30 + minutes in pve while firing (click 1-6 every so often every minute or less) Wow super not slow and not dull in anyway....

Now in pvp sure. But in all honesty the way REAL PVP WORK IN EVE IS THIS.

You looking for a fight , mining, or rating/missioning. AND BANG THERE ARE 5 reds, ok so what now ? Well if u can run u run and your fine, otherwise you die. Now if its an even fight in numbers , depending on what your flying and what they are flying you already know who wins right when the scrambles land. Sure often the fight will last another 3-10 minutes but until then you just wait for the end to come (unless you got more help , but theyll not make it in time anyway).  Now in most cases where your rating, missioning, plexing, mining, or holing your just dead (unless u runa way right off the bat).

Now in corp vs corp warfare things change. Corp A is lookign for a fight it has 30 ships in a roam, Corp B has 50 , Corp A goes home -- no fight occurs. Corp A has 50 ships and Corp B has 30 so it goes home -- no fight occurs. Corp A has 50 ships, Corp B 30 but corp B keeps away from Corp A until they get 70 ships mobilized and Corp A goes home. Lag occurs and a few members of Corp A or B get picked off. You acctually have a corp fleet fight (not happening), both sides are too weak to continue for it to mean anything.

Thats pvp for 99% of the pvp encounters in eve. Oh, eve used to have people sitting off gates and bamb arti to the face, its hard to do this now.

Regaurdless eve pvp is more flying around randomly , then waiting for the clearly appearnt victory to hurry up and win already, than acctually fighting, skill, or competition.
