I played it for like an hour during CB, very cute and cool but i think id pick Legend of Edda since it feels less grindy. Thats only based on a very quick first impression tho.

Game is incredibly nice, casual player friendly and pretty fresh. You don't really have to grind, GMs are helpful and are keeping their contact with whole community. Many events and others makes this game one of the most interesting this year. Really.
Looks like a Hello Kitty Online (no pun intended) for teens. (10-14?)
Have you played it yourself or just watched the video and stated that the game is "Pretty crap"? Have you reached level higher than 30, which isn't even hard to get, but shows pretty much of the game?
Graphics? Of course you might not like it, since it's directed to Anime/Manga fans.
I was in the closed beta and I didnt think it was anything spesial to be honest, I mean, The theme and graphic was....cute... :P but nothing new, the transform to monsters card system thingie wasnt really as cool as it sounds... but thats just me im sure there are a lot of people who'd liked the game, but for me....meh!
I may check this out since I'm registered with Gpotato anyway. Graphically, it looks kinda like the Dark Cloud series, and I've always had a hardon for those games (completely unrelated, I know).

The game was pretty basic but I enjoyed what I saw of it. Very polished even though its just like a lot of other f2p games with its own skin. I haven't gotten to a high lvl so I don't know if it suffers from lack of quests/heavy xp grind like other f2ps do but I assume it does.
I had to back away....I wouldnt say it sucks, but it's certainly a bit too efeminant for me, from my perspective. I backed away with my front to the screen, not my rear.

Oh god, let me report right now. As in "run away screaming first and then turn back and gaze with both horror and wonder at the balls of the Marketing Dept".
$30 USD (according to guildmates) = 1 full set perm costume in Item Shop. The aforementioned costume has slots for +stat cards. Stat cards range from phys def to int/wis/etc.
aka cash shop is overpowered already and it's still only Open Beta.

There is a grind, unfortunately. I only barely participated in CBT because of severe class discrimination between the rogues and other classes, but now I switched to Priest... well, it's not that bad being a healer (not that great either), with all the common healer/tank fallacies you'll come to expect from F2P. The worst part about the Priest class is the massive skill time countdowns (think 3 minutes for party heal) and linear skill trees. (oh, and lots of skills, enough to fill 3 skill bars. Have they not learnt that it's better specializing the skills given than to add more and more?)
The quests are apparent for the first 23 levels, then you run into a wall where you'll need to grind from lv24~25. There's another grindfest at 28~30. Then another one at 34~35~36~37... well, I'm at level 37, and I'm not even at 20% and the quests have run dry. Monsters that are meant for my level (2 levels higher) give 0.01% each, but they die in 5-6 hits. Given that I'm, well, not designed for mass damage, that's not bad.
I might make a proper review, since the only time I actually commented on this was a full-on rant on my own LiveJournal. I might also quit soon, since I absolutely hate grindfests and there's nothing alluring about this game other than some polished aspects and that I'm still in an active knot of players.
Just lower your expectations (two notches above rock bottom) and you'll do fine in this game.

Hmmm -- that is not good.
Back when it was closed beta there was a 100% increase to the SP and Exp entirely and if you included a few very small grinds to get recipie drops -- there wasnt an actual need to grind for exp all the way up through the mid 30s. However on SEVERAL levels it was close. (IE there was just barely enough quest content to keep you in quests level to level -- only once did I run out and it was at 91% when it happened).
I sent them feedback that if the exp was cut in half (IE the bonus removed) that it would institute grinds on many levels.
I was kind of assured that there would be enough extra quests that we did not see in beta added to the game to have it not happen.
I recommend giving them feedback that they do NOT have enough quests in this event as there should *NOT* be grinds in this game without quests. The reason being exp without quest help is so very slow compared to when questing.

Such a bullshit. I've never seen such bullshit before. I've NEVER grinded even 1% to get my lvl, and I am lvl 35. I didn't even finish repeatable quests more than once. And I am killing monsters 2 levels higher than me in 2-3 hits, which takes about 2 seconds. You're horrible, you're talking shit to players that are looking for the game and what's most horrible, they're believing in it. I would love to know your nickname so I can laugh at you...

Oh hai there Berserker.
I said I was Priest and I was soloing. Read what I wrote before you jump to conclusions. As for your "repeating" whatever, are you on the second server with all the exp bonuses? Or you used exp potions. Simple as that.
I don't lie when I recount my experiences, plain and simple. I have friends and guildmates that can vouch for the grind (and have experienced it themselves), and we've concluded that it's not as bad as some other worse games (like a grind starting from lv15 or etc), but it's still there and you can't just rub it off.
The reviews posted up until now haven't dealt with later-game content, only on the beginning and the beginning is deliberately designed to appeal to all players. After the beginning, you're finding yourself with less and less gaming features to play with and in the end, it's boring. Given that this is OBT already, I'm not impressed.

I am playing on first server, with no bonuses, I didn't use any of my exp potions nor moving scroll. And still, I didn't have to grind even 1% to get my lvl 35. In this game you have to know how to level up to not run "dry". And yes, you're still bullshitting, cause you prolly didn't even buy daily quests from quest merchant, didn't go to battlegrounds to get 10k exp per bg and you just simply nolifed for few days so you left dailys behind. Too bad, this game isn't for nolifes, casual player will reach everything easier than typical nolife. Bear with it.
Game is pretty nice, if you don't need/want to rush to cap level using dailies and Bgs are pretty helpful, also teaming is pretty helpful in getting some extra xp.
Animeish graphics are nice and the gameplay while similar to other f2p games is not bad.
I would like to ask this site Mods to check it, it should have its own forums in this mmorpg.com as other similar f2p games

I didnt' play CB but might check it out for OB. It looks like a pretty fun game and cool community judging by their forums.
I will probably check it out as I've played most of gPotato's games.....Flyff, Allods, Rappelz, etc.
gPotato, there's a sign this game might suck.
I like gpotato's games. They have a nice diverse amount of games
They re-opened the CBT for the next 6 days -- so you still have a chance to try it out.

Out of all the cute anime MMO's out right now, Iris is one of the top since it's new has initeresting taro card system.
Pretty crap tbh, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4ZGqqM5v24

Its odd that mmorpg isnt listing this game.
For everyones information the OBT starts tomorrow and fileplanet has a fast download of the client.
I have finished downloading the game. I saw some video on youtube and the gameplay looks awesome, so does the graphics.

It does not. In cbt many quests got disabled to not reach the cap too quickly, but i needn't to grind anyways. And I was high lvl.
Will be posting a video review soon (Next couple of days).
they just opened a new server and it has
100% bonus exp
100% bonus sxp
30% increase drop rate
30% increase battlefield points.
it will end tomorrow @ 1pm PST though.

Edited to add that there's actually an event going on about "spreading the word" (link here: http://iris-forum.gpotato.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2270&sid=f9b0883168cfd41f6b00ab2747e58717) aka spamming mmo-related sites about this game, so if you come across such spam messages, keep that in mind. It's not necessarily the devs you might auto default the blame onto.
