No key for me, but grats to the new users and 80 alts that are selling the keys on various websites for 50$.

I agree, a lot of the folks posting in the event things have just joined in the last day or so.
Lol@ 80 alts I tried long ago to make a 2nd account with a different email here and it was banned.
It's too bad mmorpg didn't restrict these keys to users who have either been members for X number of months, and/or have Y number of posts to be elligible. That would automatically stop all the JA's who created alternate accounts just to get more than one key.
I hope Trion invalidates any VIP keys they catch people trying to sell. I doubt they will... or if they do I doubt they'll be able to catch very many...

its a friggin closed beta you'd think trion would want dedicated people who are genuinley interested so that they can smash all those bugs before release and get objective feedback on what is fun and what isn't etc,
but they've just turned it into a hype opportunity, save that for open beta seriously

Hmm keys are not needed for open beta's last I looked and the cb key give aways have been happening way before Trion and Rifts.
For quite some time now, AAA games have used beta events more as a marketing tool rather than a final bug test. Trion is not doing anything new that their competition hasn't been doing. Not saying it's the right choice... just saying...
OTOH...these beta events are very short. This first one starting on 12/3 only runs until 12/6. It's entirely possible they plan on doing a more extended CBT after these "marketing events" that will have a smaller number of people involved.

These comments were already addressed and I expect this thread will get locked soon just like the others did. Limiting things based on time joined would get rid of new member interest, and limiting based on posts would be a poor choice as well as there are a high number of people on the net (like myself) who read rather than post, only posting at very specific things. They've kept the same practices through time and it's respectable in my opinion.
EDIT: I see myself coming off as a bit of jerk there, and it was not meant that way just to clarify. Just wanted to point out this has been talked about a number of times today and an official post has been made about it.
I am wondering what time the list opens for asking for one of these keys. It looks like the last one was open between 9:42 - 9:48 A.M. But I cannot be sure what time zone that is in, or if they will open at the same time daily.

They wont, the first day it was at 80:40 PM yesterday it was at 11:40 so I think its just random.
There's no way of knowing for each day. Yesterdays was around 1130am eastern if I remember correctly, and the day before that was around 830pm eastern. MikeB has stated that they'll vary the times, but other than that there is no knowledge of when it'll happen. Good luck to you though, yesterdays were gone in about 4 minutes so you'll have to be REALLY quick.

going off of this, there'es a possible chance that they'll release it around 3-5 today. I believe they are trying to accomodate everyone's work/school schedules.

5 days of keys= 500 keys. they stated this.
and I don't think there's any way they would even allow a person to get more than one.

They're every day this week excluding tomorrow (Thursday) for American Thanksgiving, so the last day will be the coming Monday instead.

I am sorry to say I did not get a key today. I had my email checking every minute, and I was reading on the forums of this website at the time when I heard the sound for new messages and got the email that it had opened, but when I opened the appropriate web page (about 10 seconds later) it was already over. Over 300 people had responded before I knew it was happening. Maybe next time, but since I knew when to be online, was logged on to the right website, was at the keyboard at the time of the event, and still missed the opportunity, I think I am out of luck.
