Well then you havent been looking very hard. Ive seen giant lizards, frogs, fish, imps and wolves and Im only level 22.
I've only found 3 different mobs in my complete playing experience in Ul'dah, grinding.
Dodo's.
Marmots.
Cobblyns.
That's it. Levequests give you Yarzon's, moles, and flies, but those are lame 36hr quests and don't really count.

Wolves are not giant more like a size of a cat neither are those lizards in any size or form. Honestly, wolves look more like Felix the cat. And i really wouldn't call fish, lizards and those tiny imps and frogs intimidating...lol.
But thanks for proving my point at how boring and generic the mobs are in FFXIV.

It's no secret the combat in FF14 is slow and as exciting as re-blacktopping my driveway. It's near the top of a very long list of things critics dislike.
1 on 1 comparisons just make people realize what other options are out there/going to be out there soon.
People can't really cry foul when comparing to games that aren't complete yet can they? Seriously doesn't FF14 fit right into that category?

Think you need to compare Tera Lancer with FFXIV's Gladiator. You also need to show the FFXIV character fighting an Elite mob as well..... We'll let you know when they add them .. >.>

FFXIV Level 20 Lancer fighting Dodo's is right in his level range. They don't have "elite" mobs in the game yet, so really it's a fair comparison.

Im pretty sure you might be able to find a toad to fight that might be in the size range of that mob. But I dont think fighting an Elite/NM can be considered the same thing as fighting a trash mob.

Game which is "a year from release" = Giant elite mobs
Seems more than fair comparison actually. A game which is still in "real" development is already developmentally ahead of a game that has been sitting on shelves for 2 months.

The point of video was to show slow combat of FFXIV and the mobs you fight at lower levels. if you got such badass and cool looking Elite/NM monsters in FFXIV for lvl 20 please go ahead; make a video and post it here. And no i am not talking about some oversized crabs, lizards or scorpions or toads (lol toads wtf?)

You could make the same comparison videos of FFXI and WoW back in the day.
Some people love playing games like Devil May Cry and other's like games like Civilization. Some people prefer puzzle games, and others twitch based first person shooters.
It's a comparison of apples and oranges. FFXIV is designed to be a combination of turn based (active ATB type gauge) and real time action. IT's methodical, JUST LIKE ALL PREVIOUS FFs.
If more people in the MMO community prefer WoW/Tera based gameplay (and it appears they do) then by all means, PLAY THOSE GAMES.
What's wrong with having something different? You guys are nitpicking the combat in FFXIV when we know damn well that that's how FFs are designed. There is a segment of the population who likes gameplay that isn't a copy paste of 99% of mmos on the market.
I have to also say that once I started leveling Thaumaturge/Conjurer along with Puglilist to compliment my Marauder, it just completely picks up. I'll make a video in the next couple of days with me and my LS mates doing some rank 30 leves in the Nanawa Mines. You can decide for yourself.
Edit: Is there a way to have FRAPS record sounds in the game only and not my Vent chatter with LS mates? I run the game in Windowed mode. Would changing it to fullscreen solve that issue?
That's an elite mob. You know, like WoW's elite mob. The monster is of no signficant importance to the game.

I gotta agree with that. The amazing action oriented combat of TERA is wasted on the Holy Trinity paradigm it has, because tanking as a lancer looks boring as hell (like in any other MMO) as opposed to DPSing as a Warrior. Just a shame that no matter a great the combat in TERA will be (compared to FF XIV), you're still stuck in those generic roles (DPS, Tank or Healer).
Which is why the combat in none of these games will be as good as the combat in Guild Wars 2.
Thats because tera is designed with the focus on party play, GW2 is not.

GW2 is also designed with group play in mind (dungeons, scalable dynamic events, etc.); the devs just don't want to force people into a role, which is what every single MMO seems to do. I would rather play GW2 where I can be sword wielding Warrior and just switch to a Rifle, when I want; rather be a Lancer in TERA and be forced to poke my enemies to death, for hundreds of hours.

Is tera out yet? No.. then this whole comparrision is pointless.
Tera is still in devolopment, while we are at it, lets compare FFXIV to Guild wars 2, its a different type of game for different players. when tera comes out in 2 years, im sure ill play it, but for now, i dont really care to watch videos of it.
