burda:ic has announced that closed beta registration has begun for its steam punk MMO, ARGO Online, are now being accepted. ARGO Online puts players into a futuristic world where two factions are trapped in a war for control of the mysterious and powerful resource known as Earthdium.
Developed by MGame, ARGO Online is a futuristic, steampunk-themed MMORPG featuring thousands of exciting quests, epic battles with hundreds of players, and a wide variety of PvP modes. Combining classic MMO features like a pet system, unique professions, and auctions with an engrossing background story and a vividly imagined world, players on both continents are sure to be captivated by ARGO Online when it reaches North America and Europe next spring.

Steampunk is a great direction to take for a game. I still look at my copy of Arcanum and wish it had a better MP, or even an online aspect.

So What Now?
I'm seeing nothing to separate it from every other MMO out there in terms of gameplay, but the graphics look rather pretty for a f2p and the cyber punk think has me curious. Guess I'll sign up and see for myself.

All i have is the tralier and screenshots to go off of, it looks terrible.
Now, I'm not saying this is ONE of them, BUT.....have you noticed that so many of these games that are pumped out like jellly beans on Easter Sunday, just FEEL like they were made with the SOLE intent of making money, not really making a GAME perse?

They should probably update their ToS for registering. It's addressed to the people of Europe, Russia, and Turkey.

The text (whatever it is, I squinted at it and it seemed to yield korean characters), is almost impossible to see on the buttons. And yeah, TOS...

Full of colors in a steampunk world ? wtf ? did they read one time a steampunk book or did they watch one time a movie with this style ?

Besides the Asian MMORPG look it has the gay flowery music to go with it on the front page. Steampunk?! I don't think so. Pass!
You do know that TERA hasn't been released yet either, right? It seems you do, but your logic is kind of making me second-guess it.
In anycase, Planetside and Tabula Rasa, have/had free aiming before TERA was ever even mentioned.

Seems intersting. I like how both factions have their own 8 classes each, for a total of 16. Just hope they're really all diffrent from one another.
Will deffenitly be giving this one a chance. But wont be holding my breath either, since I was just hugely disappointed with RIFT. Not getting any high hopes for any MMO outside of GW2 and Blade & Soul for now.
