So I used to be a hardcore wow player. Two years ago I played 30hrs / week on TWO paying accounts. Now I want to come back to the game, and for some elusive reason I must migrate my account to a new form "Battle net".
First account I go through the process, and I am now not able to log into the game or my account admin.
Second account, I mailed customer support because I cannot remember password OR my secret question. I get a reply that I have to provide information about my BATTLE NET account that I DO NOT CLEARLY HAVE yet because my account is old.
Seriously, worst ever customer support. It's like they are spitting me in the face while laughing: haha, are you really coming back to this crap game?
Well good riddance, because soon we will have 3 more wow clones to subscribe to, and several other promising sandbox games... I guess? Anyone else finding Blizzard support lacking, or am I an unfortunate son?

I suspect your accounts are all compromised as I can still log into my unlinked to battlenet accounts perfectly without any problem I just need to link if I want to play.
Trust me you are not the only to have this problem I recently went back after a 2 year hiatus myself and had the same problem. Even funnier is when I finally got it all worked out and into the game four days later my account was hacked. Then it took them about a week to get it fixed. I decided that WoW wasn't really worth the hassle anymore. One would think with all the money ther making making there customer service response time would be better and they would have better protection against hackers
Ok, so it is not just me. I found it amazing that they even DARE send emails to actual customers having paid hundreds of dollars over the years with information that is NOTHINHG about the actual problem. Oh well.
It sounds to me like you gave it about 20 minutes effort and gave up. Try calling them and speaking with someone and it should get worked out rather quickly. I have had multiple experiences with their customer service and can't say one bad thing about it.
Yeah that is almost correct. Have probably spent about three hours worth on my two accounts. It shouldn't be that hard. Just send me a password recovery link to my email to verify, and the direct transfer to this new amazing account system. I am a former big customer willing to buy more game time, why should it require any more on my part.
All im saying is call them...quit spending the 5 minutes it takes to spout out an email and expect everything to magically work. Call them...yes you will probably have to wait 30 - 40 minutes on the phone but I would be willing to bet that they can get your problem fixed while you're on the phone with them. Make an effort is all im saying. Oh and no i don't have any idea how much effort you have made but from reading your post I deduced that it was around 20 to 30 minutes.
Depends on your experience. One of my friends came back to the game to find all his stuff on his lvl 80's gone. He sent in a request and got all his gear back in 2 hours. Another friend of mine lost his account and got it back easily by providing info about it.
So, I'd say I've never had problems ever with Blizzard support. They're a big company, so I think a lot of it depends on who's assigned to your case.
Somehow I doubt throwing money at 'better protection against hackers' will reduce the hackings that go on.
Unless you know something I don't, WoW security is your standard stuff which is not worth the time to crack.
The players on the other hand....

Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
As for the emails, just read the first couple of sentence they wrote and ignore the rest because that is just some copy paste job they do all the time. It's obvious that if you are trying to revive an account before they used battlenet you wont have battlenet info.
Or..... like some one mentioned already.... call them.
And have all the info you can gather about those accounts, have your game keys as well.
WoW Sidequests
Check out Xsyon. It's a sandbox in beta right now that is admittedly kinda slower in terms of population in between content updates. What's unique is it's a very small dev team which allows them to be extremely in touch with the players on a day to day basis on the forums and in game so they know all the bugs already and have fixed many of the major ones. While it's a beta and there is always bugs, the game is very very promising and very fun to play. PM me if you get interested so I can help you get used to the game since I've been playing almost 2 months now. Its a pay-to-beta but you get 2 months free from the day of launch and also an extra week ahead of the regular release to get cities built up again. At the moment, the game is heavily tribe (guild) dependent. As far as I know, the devs have said solo play (traveling around as a traveling trader pitching up tents along the way) will be possible sometime soon, but getting the final tribe mechanics put in game (rankings within tribes and tribe quest system) is the #1 priority for right now.
