Simple poll. Ill try to give good options so I don't get skewed by people of any particular sway.
My question is about FF14 going buy to pay with no monthly sub untill the game is in release condition in SE's opinion. Will you be interested in purchasing FF14 now and trying it out for as long as its free. Thats what, a 50 dollar investment, for what could be months of casual or hardcore <fun> and <excitement>. So you gonna give'er a go?

Well, at least now I can judge myself when that time comes without having to pay for it.
If they are going to wait and pay/play when its ready, they can choose the option that it makes them consider getting the game, if they dont have it , or consider going back if they do.
Anyways polls are never perfect.
And I must say! I never questioned that you were playing the game, I took it for a certainty. But I guess it only makes sense that the person defending FF14 the most would be a person who hasn't played it. ...

Pointless poll is pointless, SE will never go free to play with any mmo they made/or will make. Time and time again they spoke out to the FFXI population when FFXIV was announced and said as long as FFXI has a population they will continue to support/add content to it. When the population dwindles to a dangerous low they will simply close it. I could be a honor based thing or it just makes sense,to me at least.

The point of my poll is not about the game remaining free to play, its about whether this will bring people in , knowing at some point the game will cost money. Now is a perfect time to try it out, start playing and watch it change, before you are required to pay. Did you not read my title? Or what I wrote? Like, ugh! Pointless and ignorant reply has never been more pointless and ignorant. ugh!

They are confusing your " free to play " with the P2W payment model. I would maybe change your title to no subscription costs or something a bit more accurate.
I am now seriously considering purchasing the game, since there is no subscription costs while they improve the game.
Of course I have played it. Did you mistake me for some fanboy? I don't pick fights I can't win, that is all.
I won't play it in it's current condition and most definitely won't pay either. XI took 1½ years to warm up on me, as well.
the free time is nice, but its still not fun to play at the moment. So, for me, the free time is meaninfless cause i still dont LIKE playing the game as it is.
SE would be better served to shut it down until it is worth releasing. Folks jumping in for the free time will see what a mess it is, quit playing after a week or so, then not come back once it is pay to play again.
Really good point, but I have got nothing but time. So ima level my shit up, with some fellow masochists. Its free and im bored. I downloaded perfect world and vindictus but neither of them kept me playing long so then i decided based on these forums that all f2p games basically arent free and well... I bought ff14 and a pc to play it, so whateves.

I have been playing FFXIV casually but with the new updates in FFXI I’m probably going to be playing FFXIV even more casually, possibly playing twice a week. There is a good chance they won’t start the monthly subscription fee till the PS3 is ready. That may take anywhere from six months to a year but who knows really, part of it depends on how much they plan to overhaul the game before they change it from B2P to P2P.
I agree with what Vkayne said, chances are people who try this game at its current state might just quit and never come back. I don’t think there will be a surge of new incoming and long lasting players till the PS3 launches.
