Too many games. Which game you played the most in 2010? Or which game you LIKED the most? I played LOTRO the most but liked GT5 the most... sooo, I go with LOTRO.

It was between Aion, Perfect World and Runescape for me ..

I voted PW because it's the only MMORPG I've stuck with for a long time and actually enjoyed it.

i been playing GW since its very first beta..and  anyone whom plays it knows no one reallly calls them by chapter names..most of us just say guild wars in referecne to the whole francise.

Game of the Year should have also been a shorter list...I got a headache sorting through all those

WoW will win this and Zorndorf can sleep easy at last.

I voted GW because of the war in kryta content, and hearts of the north content, from this year.  If not for that, I would feel a little silly wanting to vote for a 5 year old game.

I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.

Voted City of Heroes, because it's justa  good game, and the expansion this year was really satisfying. But Shouldn't City of Heroes and City of villains be merged? I know you used to buy them seperatly, as I did, but they have since been merged when Paragon Studios took over, so that you now you can't buy one without getting the other for free.

    ya EVE all the way

I voted WoW because Cataclysm is fun so far and really difficult. Plus it runs smoothly and has smooth controls, but to all their own. No point in voting for the WoW clones.

To those saying WoW is bad. You're right, it must be bad if it's dominating the P2P market, good logic.

City of Heroes and City of Villains needs to be merged, and all of the Guild Wars entries need to merged as well. These aren't separate games.

That being said, I went with the game that I've had the most fun with this year, and that game is...

    City of Heroes

A massive amount of new content, several new game systems to play with, an entirely new faction, a new moral alignment system, new power combinations...the list just keep going on an on. The genre isn't for everyone (I'm not much for the genre myself, actually), but the game is simply fun in ways that no other MMOs are.

Despite a few problems, Eve Online seems to knock the competition out of the water in this one.  It's true that WoW and CoH both put out major expansions, but for many reasons (community, support, fun, mixed activities, etc), I have to go with Eve.

I've gotten disillusioned, disgruntled and other stuff with PWE's games.  I'm having the most fun this year at Aion, so that's the one I'm voting for!

Too bad I blew my only vote on Yohoho puzzle pirates!!!!

    LMAO

And you know what: I did the same. Open grouping, many events, housing, many minigames, and brain required.

    Arrr!

    I vote EVE

    * I read most of what Jon Wood writes
    * He needs more bullet points though

My vote goes for Lotro still best MMO game and even going to be better and better:)

  • AthcearAthcear Member Posts: 420

I have only stuck with one game for more than a month or two in the last two years.  I picked up LotRO when it started F2P, and now I'm happily subbed and enjoying it.  At least, I was until I got to Moria...  But either way, LotRO is the big winner this year.

    Important facts:
    1. Free to Play games are poorly made.
    2. Casuals are not all idiots, but idiots call themselves casuals.
    3. Great solo and group content are not mutually exclusive, but they suffer when one is shoved into the mold of the other. The same is true of PvP and PvE.
    4. Community is more important than you think.

Same for me, i don't play anymore but my vote goes for Eve Online !

  • ircaddictsircaddicts Member UncommonPosts: 218

Reason guild wars is split into 3 is so it can't beat wow. my pick for this year is lotro. Next year how ever it will be Guild Wars 2

worst mmo of the year is as allways wow.

    Top 3 MMO's PRE-CU SWG GW1 GW2

Worst 2 wow and Lotro Under standing stones it went woke

  • dsebutchrdsebutchr Member Posts: 245

    WoW

It's fun.  It doesn't feel like work and it's not horridly monotonous.  EvE is both of these.

Lotro maybe, but it just got boring too quickly.

  • EladiEladi Member UncommonPosts: 1,145

What a shitty list, why the hell would you put any game on the list when you know the player base is less then 1000 not a chance in hell they ever be top voted for.

then the whole expansion list for some games, why are all the everquest expansions not on the list, or the swg expansions while other games have seperated counts for expansions, (GW, CoH)

Only named EQ and swg but there are tons of games on this list that have or had "have to pay" expansions some are free now , some still gota be paid for.

looks like a cheap copy/paste of your list..

Been playing LoTro daily for 3 years now, not seeing an end in sight. I am not interested in any other game, at all. Huge Tolkien fan and quite happy with the world Turbine has brought into my life. No question about it.......

  • spookydomspookydom Member UncommonPosts: 1,782

Got to go for wow agian unfortunatly. It's still the best game out there. Hopefully next year things will be diferent. Roll on 2011:)

  • sugamarisugamari Member UncommonPosts: 16

Is there a game without money? That's why I left Eve and WOW and they got boring. I'm running LOTRO now. I don't mean just real money. I'm looking for a game that is not reinforcing the money paradigm - the exact opposite of Entropia. Second Life could have went that way but some demon decided to turn creativity into profits - one day someone will hear this.

I'm finding the parallels in RL too haha money is not intrinsic to a working social model. The best game of 2011 has to be a paradigm shifting event. No violence or money - but a society of creatives boosting the value of the game. It's there already we just have to enforce it. We are the driving force - remember that. I'm not voting until I see that.

Where are you all living so I can avoid the whole to fall into...There is no way an MMO is going to get Game of the Year, Gears of War; Black Ops...however Red Dead Redemption got it I believe.

I love MMO's but until next year with The Old Republic hitting in spring, we might, might see that MMO get nominated, but honestly VGA even Blizzard only got Starcraft2 into the running, not WoW.

The only genre that has a hope of getting it done is Star Wars and only then by a dev house like Bioware. Hell even ME3 will probably beat ToR for best RPG, and its not out till November next year.

Lotro? Eve? wow you all live in a really dark hole.

And if you think I am harsh, well too bad, someone has to shine a flashlight into yoru little dark corner.

Black Ops? Red Dead Redemption? Really?

Where did you attend school so I make sure my kid doesn't go there? Just tell me where you live, I'll avoid the whole area (see what I did there?). Comprehension fail...(insert sad trumpet "wah wah" here.) Hey check that url one more time, and no, I don't think you are harsh, just not too bright. Maybe try changing the batteries?
