I didn't realize that Turbine stealthed nerfed the weapon speed or you may say hiding the weapon speed.
I got a 2H 2.8 speed before, kinda like it because it's fast. And 2 days ago I bought a v60 second age 2H, since all legendary weapon has removed the weapon speed, so I'd think they probably got all same speed. But I was very wrong about this and I am still suffering the slow 2H pain.
My 2H 2.8 is max so I deconstruct it, if I knew lv60 2H is 3.2 or maybe 3.0 then I wont deconstruct my older sword that I can use it to grind.
From the slowness of a 2H, I guess lv60 2H might be 3.0 or 3.2 weapon speed, I also got a lv65 reforged 2H, now I am worrying if that speed could be 3.4. But man, 2H 3.4 speed is unplayable.
I think 2H max speed should not be over 3.0, because the skill cold down and the attacking duration is not sync each other. It would not be what you see then what you can click.
Over 3.0 speed has a problem, you are not only attacking slower, which is based on how fast you can click on the skill rather than the skill animation. The skill animation doesn't relevent with the weapon speed.
So when you click on a skill, and your skill animation also finished, you have to wait longer to click on the next skill. The problem is that, the skill is avaialble to click on, so you do a click, due to slow weapon speed, so your click became reserved to use that skill. If the game is lagged or if the mob casting -xx% attacking speed, then it is like your mouse click is disabled by the game. You can't fight well at all. Only 2.8 speed works simutaneously and dont looks like the lag or certain steathed debuff affects you.
I quit Lotro because of huge nerf one year ago, even though, I think we still need to know the weapon speed to decide dual weield or even use faster weapon. Since Lotro went F2P but lets hope Turbine could still keep certain gaming quality for their name.

There was no stealth nerf, Larry. Perhaps you just weren't keeping up with the game when it happened. If you'd like to read the developer diary about the changes, here it is.

I think they should make a sticky in general discussion called: "Larrys rant of the day"...
As usual its hard to understand what he is saying and the only thing I found that seemed fit what he is talking about is this:

But seems like it is not an issue.
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
Although the weapon speed has been removed but I wondered it's just remove the text description on the weapon, but the weapon speed still exist. Never mind because it doesnt matter what speed of weapon you have, you still can not kill the Ruingalab.
Ruingalab is an encounter boss in Solo Skirmish, actually a fire mob, it will reflext 50% damage you dealt on it back to you, but it will deal moderate damage on you as well, in addition, you get burn just next to it. I remeber there was certain mob in The Rift, you can't attack him otherwise you get damages back to you, but there has time you can do the attack. The Ruingalab is even more powerful, even you have fire protection to mitigate certain amount of damages but you died with your own attacking because the more damage you done the more faster you died. The damage return is actually over 50% everytime it receiving damage from you.
It doesnt matter how good you are or the best armor in game, you won't be able to kill this mob. Apparently, this a group boss mob appears in Solo enoucnter. The same as weapon speed, they can't make sure every weapon has normalized the speed.
It seems the sword I had earlier was just like this encounter boss, so I will just leave it, Thx.
While all encounters have a chance to show up equally on all group sizes, not all encounters are designed to be as equally challenging for all group sizes. I expect ruingalad is one that is much friendlier on 3, 6, 12 than solo.

Just an interesting thread about Ruingalad since you mentioned it. It seems a minstrel was able to do it solo.

excuse the OT but since the OPs rant/question has already been answered a couple of times.
Ruingalad is killable with a minnie, I have been successful a couple of times on level 1, might be able to do him on level 2 with some luck. I just heal tanked him and let my archer kill him and while he is a challenge he is not impossible. I used every trick I could think of and it took me 4 or 5 tries before I found the right combo. I enjoy a good challenge and hope they do not nerf him down becuase of the complaints from players who think they should be in god mode all the time.
I miss DAoC
There are many quest turn out to be too easy for minstrel since you just need to heal the npc or npc crows, voila. But for a melee class, hunter/captain/guardian/champion/warden. Ruingalab is impossible to kill in Solo mode, there is ZERO chance.
The mob will do incapacite, and returning received damages more than 50% back to you, the fire aura has strong pulse to cause fire damage, 3 fire damages in a row within 1 second, plus dealing damage. There isn't challenge at all, nerf the minstrel.
I also think we should nerf the healer's ability to heal, because one quest type (escort) is a bit easier for them. It's unfair that a mini can do what it was designed to do well enough that it can even solo tough encounters!
/sarcasm
I agree. NERF the Minstrel!! Healing is overrated and needs to be stopped!!
;p
and I am sure there are quests that your hunter can solo that would leave my minnie huddled in the corner crying like a little girl. Like I said the quest was a challenge, not a walk in the park. So far I have about a 33% success rate.
I miss DAoC
My captain has done it. Not with a 100% success rate, though.
That was before they made this boss easier for solo encounters almost a year ago.
My captain would very much prefer slower 2H weapons. The current ones are too fast for captains. As captains is the main 2H-class, they should make twohanders slow again. Even if only the halberd would be truly slow again, it would be great... *grumble*
