1) Update character models and animations. Some of the more recent outfits are less boring and brown than the armor was in the beginning, which is an improvement, but the animations are still very stuff and unimpressive.
2) Update spell effects. I know LoTRO isn't as stylized as many other universes, but look at the movies/animations...there was still plenty there that made you go "WoW" without going overboard.
3) Revamp end-game. Currently playing the game at the end isn't nearly as fun as getting there. The first 30 levels or so are the most fun for me, then it gradually degrades from there until end-game when it feels like a generic, grinding f2p experience. LoTRO has too much lore for that to fly. It can and should be much more interesting.
"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."
Don't know why so many have a problem with f2p "freeloaders". I've played for years and into F2P (which is my preferred play). I've spent far more in the shop for fluff than I spent on all sub months combined. I already purchased all boxes/expansions so only content I paid for was some early level stuff. I love the population it brought to the game and everyone i've spoken with seems very nice ..helpful and mature so far. Not really sure from where the all the "dislike" of f2p players comes.
NOW:
1: Rework all Character/NPC/Mob models and animations
2:Re-work Traits
3: Many times ..when I am still... the surrounding scene can be absolutely stunning. The view while moving is another matter. I wish the rendering could be smoother. I don't know much from the technical end but I hate the warping tree shapes and insta-trees/buildings/rocks/mobs that pop up as you walk through the world. Seems ridiculous , with all the other smooth running mmos, that this would be so rampant in LOTRO. Hell..in Darkfall everything seems to render very well..with no pop up trees as far as I recall. I even stared at a building from far off...proceeded to walk to it's front door..and it rendered and scaled to perspective perfectly with each footstep and still looked great the whole time. Impressive for an independent developer. If the DF crew can do this then there is no excuse why LOTRO or any other game should have this problem.
Despite all this, the game is still one of the best. IMO.
1. Add dungeons: All those larger ruins scattered about should have something underground to play in.
2. Pvp border zones (i.e. North North Downs, South South Bree, heck even the Dwarf Lonelands cavern): redo the Freeps and let them start at mid-tweens (which is what I think those South Bree missions are), expand the zone and have a cross over area. None of the current quests would go into the cross over (Pvp area), but if you wanted to you'd find better resources, drops and more XP quests from the troops guarding the area. Then just like DAoC, once you hit the level limit for that area you can't go into it's Pvp area anymore - you'd have to move on to the next zone. Basically if it's in the game currently as a "war" spot it would get a border zone part.
3. Take a page from DDO and add a difficulty level to each dungeon; Solo (easy), Normal, Hard, Elite or 1 lvl below, at level, above level, WAY above level and tie it in to how large your group is / level of the group.
I love this game. I think its one of the best MMO out there and i have played some mmos. I love the F2p even though i thought it was cheaper to become a V.I.P member. The only things i would change about this game would be
Change the battle system, (I think FFxi has the best battle system of any mmo to date) It gets really hard to target mobs in this game.
Give each class a "Weapon Skill" (again for all you FFx11 players you know what im talking about) Skillchains are fun to pull off and are really cool.
1. Agree about PVP border zones. Something similar to DAoC.
2. Orcs, Goblins and Trolls as playable races with starter zones in Angmar, Misty Mountains and Eregion. Borderlands PVP would be great with playable evil races.
3. Crafted items to be better than anything that drops or is available except maybe Rep items and major raid items.

Keep adding expansions to this game.
Keep up the good work Turbine.
Why is it hard to target mobs? Just press Tab to select nearest or cycle through mobs.
Redo the character models...seriously. The dwarves looke terrible, they are comically misproportioned and hobbits...oh you poor bastards. I have not had one hobbit to look normal and not completely retarded or oddly gay...when I got a purple leather tight ass pants and chest piece on my hunter I almost crapped myself.

I'm hoping this will happen soon. They have already redrawn some of the mobs, the Dourhand Dwarves in Norther Downs for example, so it can be done. The costumes help, but you're 100% it's the one thing letting the game down at the moment, especially for newcomers.
1. Take a leaf out of EQ2's book where player housing is concerned.
2. Never have gone F2P.
3. Scrap the blue colour scheme eg on the character selection screen, it's utterly horrid, and fit all characters on one screen.
I'd prefer UO style player housing, actually built in the wilderness or as part of the cities. Why can't all those locked doors in Bree be player housing instances, or the Elf houses in Rivendell? I've never understood why they didn't do that. It would be easy enough.
Player villages would be very cool. There is a half built village north of Bree, be good if it was finished some day.
Its easier said than done. Especailly when youre fighting multiple mobs. It can be a pain in the ass sometimes to cycle the mob furthest from you. Its nothing really major.
1) Get rid of the damn trait system or streamline it so that the bonus allocations make sense.
2) Upgrade the lousy AH interface.
3) Allow mods!
1. The only thing wrong with the trait system is that it could use some expansion, especially beyond the 10 cap that it has had since the game launched, despite having two level cap increases.
2. The AH could be streamlined some more, but it's not any worse that WoW or Aion's implementation.
3. Good grief no. That nonsense was one of the things that aggravated me most about WoW. There's already some really nice UI themes (I'm looking at you, Durin's Folk). Those are more than enough.
-----------------------------
Here's the three things I would change.
1. Character models and animations.
2. Combat. The speed is fine, but I wish it had more visual/aureal impact. I want baddies flying to the side in a spatter of blood and resounding clash when my dwarf smashes them with his (legendary) axe.
3. Legendary items. The current system is about as unlegendary as you could possible make it. There is nothing legendary about grinding out levels on hundreds of 'legendary' weapons only to break them apart at a specified level so that you can play several different iterations of the random number game.
I would probably change how the game looks like at close (yes, the environment, vistas etc., can be breathtaking when viewed from far). However, the character models and objects can look very ugly when you are close to them. They are blocky with very sharp edges. Also, the details could be added to some of the objects, as they seem to be out of place.
I would make the game a lot softer and pleasant to look at at close range. Reduce the blockiness and sharpness.
I am only at level 45, so I cannot really comment on the end-game.
"The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in."
1- Change details like swim underwater, wich had to provide a more 3D experience, that could in the future let us fly on some eagles anywere we wanted.
2-The quests packs are too expensives, i would put them free
3-the crafting system would have more complicated levels in the end, and actually do somethings cools, pretty much like engineer in WOW.
2) Combat animations. I just find the animations so lame it completely ruins the combat for me. I'm not suggesting WoW or Aion type animations but they are so stiff and ugly.
3) I don't know how to name this one but I always felt like my character was sliding and not really running. Not latency related either.
That's my 1st thing as well. Remodel the monsters back to the pre-solo-change. Right now LotRo feels more like a solo RPG with online capabilities than a real MMORPG to me
2. Remove potions from both item shop and Skirmish barter
3. Remove the whole Skirmishing thing compeltely (worse addition ot LotRo IMO)
Well my list is about the things that bug me, and I doubt there is a sollution that any company can make for some of it.
My mic works, works on TS and Vent. It works in the Mic check feature of the game. It worked for years on many different PC's, and diffrent Operating Systems. But for some reason for a little over a year now, on three different machines with different OS's, and different headsets (THAT WORK), I can get no voice in game. I think this is because I havent found anyone to play with that knows how to set up , or use voice. So that 1
1) make the voice feature work, and be easy for people to set up, it's easy to set up for me, but obviously, not for anyone Ive plated with in over a year. And I do not understand that, so it's a non fixable thing.
I see alot of people rubberbanding, and see alot of server lag in places it shouldnt be, when there is hardly anyone there. I dont see this in WoW or Bad Company2, to the degree I see it in this game. Considering both the games I mention are high pop, constant player movement, and even constant environment movement ( Bad Company 2), I just dont get that.
2) Whatever it takes, smooth out the game.
For my money the last expansion, is an insult, and I feel like a sucker for buying it. 2 weeks to ring it out, and then be on repeatable quests. Not good for me
3) Make the Expansion we payed for, much much beter.
I dont think these things will happen, I have no reason to expect it, for the many reasons that people could list in reponse to this post.
That I can play other games without finding any reason not to, and yet find these things, reason enough to be hindered by this game, may be more about there not being enough interesting game play to offset, what may well be, minor issues. Maybe the game is just dull, and I find the best thing about it, is to socialize and talk with friends, IF I COULD TALK WITH FRIENDS.
In other games Im nore busy, PLAYING THE GAME, and have been for years.

only thing I would change is going to free from decorating like SWG had.
