So, I think my SOE account got hacked...

I checked my email this morning real quick like and found an email sent from SOE saying that my payment had been received(little odd since I havent logged in in probably a year...)  Sooo, I google the SOEs website and log in.  Sure enough, there was a charge under some guys name in Oregon.  Used his credit card, etc.  Well, I guess its no biggie since it wasn't my money but I now find myself wondering how badly my SWG account will be wiped out once I get in.

I figure its one of them thar gold farmers that found my info somewhere and used some guys credit card info.  Really weird that they are still selling gold in this game IMO.  /shrug

Oh well, once I get SWG reinstalled I guess I will see how bad the damage is.  Not that I really care since I never play anymore but I am kind of curious.

Whats really odd is that as this happened this morning the guy who works next me gets an email from his wife that her debit card was on fraud alert and she got a ding for a one dollar charge from SOE. So, her bank cancelled her card and is going to get her a new one.  He said neither he nor his wife have ever had a SOE account.  Very odd coincidence.

Looks like its going to be tomorrow before I can check....lol. Only 12 more hours to go!

I guess once I get in and see what all has happened in there I will call customer support and get accused of buying gold/power leveling/trading accounts etc...lol.

Same thing happened to me, you will probably need to get SOE customer support to reset your password. The temporary password reset never worked, whoever had hacked my account had some kind of password spoofer that caught the temporary password reset and changed it to something new. Once I got sony to change everything it was all fine. Though I found it odd that the person just paid for SWG sub and the expansions I didn't have. Almost like they were planning on playing the account then trying to sell it.

And no they didn't accuse me of anything, they were actually nice. Though I didn't get to keep the expansions the hacker bought, which I felt was oddly wrong. I mean he should be punished for his actions, and it costing him cash would be a nice way to do it.

Actually, I just logged in using my normal password and was able to change it from within the account page of SOE's site.  I went ahead and cancelled the guys sub and all.  Just really weird.  I am extremely careful about my log in info. I wonder how they obtained it...

And... after reinstalling the game!  I'm banned...rofl.  Can't even access my account info at all now.  lol

Same thing happened to me three weeks ago. Checked spam..by chance..and notice a thank you for subscribing to eq2 and 2 pymnts for cash shop coins. i hadn't used the Station since an eq2 trial one and a half years ago and....DCUO beta more recently. I was thinking something in the beta might have been tampered with and my info stolen. i know everyone says this..but I AM really careful with my info. I run numerous spyware programs regularly and manually as well as MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. I deleted all the card info and changed my password.  I was banned from sony account because a stolen card (of course) was used. I had to call them because all other methods require a log on. It was easy enough to resolve however you might want to change your email on file.. Took less than 15 minutes just as long as you call on a tuesday or wednesday . I recommend around 8pm pacific time.

Who would hack SWG? If it's a gold farmer who's he selling to? The ghosts of players past?

OK, uncommon user ID, safe PC, no other problems, no spyware, NOTHING.. Wife logged in today and 306 Million credit gone.  No way they got her user ID or password.  I think SWG has a mole.
