You're totally right. It's a horrible computer. I've been playing the latest and greatest games fully maxed out with it for the past 3 years and going but it's completely horrible in every way, shape and form. troll more

Here are some of my setup, specs in signature, just moved into new place and sorting stuff out/unpacking. Crysis 2 signed artwork on wall and the infamous signed AoC chick too.
and some of the goods with inquisitive cat who likes boxes
I own multiple computers and set them up differently. This current system is a q6600 OCed to 3ghz (sometimes I go up to 3.6ghz). I am on a GTX 480 video card and 8GB of DDR2 RAM set to 4-4-4-12 (sometimes I can go as low as 3-3-3-9).
I run on 2 Raptor Drives, 2 External HDDs and a 7200 RPM HDD internal drive. Sometimes I test SSDs and SLI setups.
Linux is my main operating system with Windows 7 being my secondary OS. Rather than prefering triple monitor gaming, I prefer a large resolution for a single monitor (or a pair of monitors) and run multiple games simultaneously under Wine. Windows 7 is for those new games and Nprotect Games that do not work on Wine. I used to be a pure Windows Gamer and Console gamer, but there was so much I learned about Linux Gaming that a day came I realized that Linux Gaming was the true "enihusiast" way to go in my own eyes.
A lot of young computer users today believe that "enthusiast" means playing the game at the highest resolution. That to me is bloatware and a sign that things are getting bigger, but not better. I've found many practical things as a gamer which only as secondary OS will I boot into Windows 7.
P.S: I like lots of the comps I see here....One does not need the highest end specifications to have a great setup. I particularly liked the super-weak and archaic system that was tuned and optimized to take it as far as it can go.
LG 30" Monitor at 2560 x 1600 Resolution with a 24" at 1920 x 1200 as backup/dual screen
I actually have two 5870s, one of which I won on this very site (Thanks!). This Christmas I'll be getting and building an entirely new setup to Crossfire the two cards.
Not the best machine on here by far, but I am upgrading a few things and getting ready to change out the ram , cpu, and mother board so I can have the am3 ddr3 specs.
No fancy lights or case just a big black case with LOTS of fans, put some sound damping Mats on the inside helps alot with the GPU sound as Chip is liquid cooled, once I get my 3rd card I'll hook them all up to the cooling unit or I was thinking of getting a separate one for the cards alone so they dont have to share the same heat grid as the processor.
It runs anything I throw at it with out blinking need to up grade my screen got a 26inch right now but thinking of just getting a TV/Monitar one of the new sonys *shurgs* I think I like it though on the screen its on, tired gaming on a projector a few times and huge screen dont seem to work as you lose your peripheral sight not good when your in a firefight.
I use a core i7 920 myself oc'd but it depends on how much I need really, usually its running at 3.8ghz but I've tuned it up to 4.6ghz without any problems, with lower voltage than the original to get better stability, it's funny cause you would think you should increase the voltage when overclocking to get stability.
The biggest problem I see with the core i7 is the damn IOH, it gets extremely hot, the original heatsinks on motherboards are a big joke so I modified it myself and installed a new heatsink. Look at this pictures how close it must been that the IOH was destroyed running without any OC for the first 2 weeks. The heatsink I installed lowered the temperature by 40 degrees celcius on the IOH at full load for 2 hours.
Here it is, the badguy, it's the copper heatsink in the middle of the picture. I had to dismount the computer completly to remove it with some force due to melted rubber under it.
And here is how it looked once removed...
It looks worse than it is, but its still not acceptable after only 2 weeks of usage without any OC.
And here is the new heatsink mounted, I skipped adding a fan to it and instead I turned the CPU heatsink 90 degrees so it sucks air through the heatsink on the IOH and than pushes it up and out through the top of the box, it reduced the CPU temperature couple degrees compared to have it blowing the air out of the back. The original heatsink is still on the motherboard the way it looks here except its secured into the Thermaltake IOH heatsink.

Kinda overkill to watercool the southbridge, as it doesnt get hot at all now that most things are moved to the IOH.
