Hello all!
First off, let me say that I know how everyone feels when it comes to finding a good source of online RP. It's not easy, not in the slightest. But, for those of you who are truly interested in Roleplay, I have the place for you.
Remember Neverwinter Nights? (The first one). Well, it's still around. And not only can it be bought online as a digital download with all expansions included for $9.99. It still has a very active RP community.
The server I am going to tell you about is called "Prisoners of the Mist". And it can be found at http://www.nwnravenloft.com
This server has been up and running for the past 5 years, and still recieves regular updates, new content very regularly.
Also, it has a very established community of players, and DM's.
As a roleplayer, I find this Persistant World to be top notch, when it comes to RP, content, and anything else you would expect from a good roleplaying experience.
I won't drag this out any further however, as I feel the point has been made.
If your looking for good online roleplay. I've given you the opportunity to be apart of it. It's up to you now to click the link above, and see just exactly what it is all about.
If you do, and you have any other questions, feel free to sign up for the forums there and post a topic, or, here, and I'll be happy to reply quickly.
Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you soon.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to follow up on this post and see if anyone had checked out the website, or if anyone had any interest or questions.
I am a bit interested, will check it out tomorrow after all my meetings are done.
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
So I have a question. This is a 3D game world in which a large amount of roleplayers congregate in? I am curious and a bit intrigued. I looked over the site a bit, but I don't have much time at the moment. So anymore additional information you could supply would be great until I can get home and explore it further.
Seems interesting tho!
Basically, it's a Persistant World built using the Neverwinter Nights Auroa toolset. Which is quite expansive and in depth as to what you can do, and script. There are a few other servers with good population that are also "roleplay" but I could consider them "roleplay lite" at the very best.
This is a very immersive world. Ravenloft is a Gothic Horror setting created by TSR for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Later, somewhat carried on by S&S, and then Wizards of the Coast.
You really just have to make a character and join in to get the feel for the world. It's a gothic horror setting so therefore there is fear to be played out by certian characters of the night, and things like that. There is also a dedicated DM(GM) team there to run plots and stories.
Ravenloft RP online..? I'm in, checking it later on today! Thanks for the link.
I -DO- say! If anyone from here decides to join up. Or has any questions, go ahead and start a post on the forums over there and introduce yourself and where you came from! (That being here, lol)
When I first found this server, I was simply astounded. I could not believe how in-character everyone was, and how great the world felt. It's pretty big, and it feels even bigger.
It is a harsh world though, being Ravenloft, and all. And should be taken one step at a time.
So has anyone checked this out or joined up?
I checked out the website, but I need to dig my NWN discs out from wherever they went before I can play. I was just talking to a friend of mine the other night about how NWN persistent worlds would be better for roleplaying than an MMO, and he was talking about how much he loved the Ravenloft setting, so finding this thread was rather serendipitous.
I'll probably play. If we can find him a cheap copy of the game I can probably get him to join too.
Sounds good to me. You can actually buy the game with all the expansions as a digital download for $9.99 at Gog.com , So there goes your cheap copy!
And this sever will have both of what your looking for i'm sure. Roleplay, and an amazing adaption of the Ravenloft setting.
It's been awhile since I followed up here, and the server as really seen an influx of new players since I started bringing it up on various forums. Hopefully, some of the people came from here. Either way, as I said before, if there is anyone out there looking for some great RP in an online world format. Your doing yourself an injustice by not giving this a shot for $9.99.
Interesting, i'll check it later, thanks for the info!
So What Now?
Hope that you do! Here is a short promotional intro video for the server.

This sounded interesting so I bought it from gog.com, I havn't been able to connect at all due to my key being in use already
Mailed them for multiplayer keys so will see after the weekend.
Hey there,
I wanted to say thanks for giving the server a look, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I should have mentioned previously that when you buy the game from Gog.com there are instructions to email them for multi-player CD Keys. If you e-mail them during the week, they'll get back to you almost instantly. However, they do not work on the weekend, so they will be sent to you on Monday. I hope to see you drop by on the forums, and introduce yourself and let us know where you came from.
There are a few files you must download to play the server from there, which is fairly simple, and if you have any questions, just ask and someone will promptly aid you.
I wanted to just simply stop in here real quick and go ahead and give this topic a bump. As I've always said, if your looking for a true roleplaying experience, then take the time to stop in at www.nwnravenloft.com
