I've played DDO off and on since it's release. Been subbed to it the entire time even after f2p just so I don't have to fuss about with the shop.
I find the game relatively enjoyable, but I still think multiclassing is a tad broken as well as the game breeds too much metagame min/maxing of characters.
I play on ARgo, which last I knew was known for being the 'hardcore power leveling, and a tad bit blunt to talk to' server. Would have rolled Sarlona if I'd known there was more RP there. >_>
Only really play the game with friends at this point, don't hop on otherwise. Generally the content doesn't change often enough for me to maintain interest, and I still nitpick with my desire for a 'quest toolkit'.

It's been a while since I played DDO...it's been one of my favorite MMOs since I first played it a couple years back, but I got into AoC for about a year so I never came back to DDO until now.
It was between LotRO and DDO (both of which I previously played). I thought I'd go with DDO first and now I've decided to stay with it until something better comes along...and it doesn't seem like something better is coming along any time soon.
PLAYING: NOTHING!!! PLAYED:FFXI, LotRO, AoC, WAR, DDO, Megaten, Wurm, Rohan, Mabinogi, RoM

There's one called linkrealms in the works if this piece of info is any good to you, it sounds interesting but not sure how far off it is though

I am playing DDO just because its a game, but to be honest, its even for killing time, cause im waiting for diablo 3 to come out so me and my friends can play it.
The problem with D&D has always been the endgame, at least for me. Running the same instances over and over, of which none of them feel very epic. The leveling was fun, but the endgame was just poorly planned quests players are forced to repeat an obscene ammount of time.
I got back into ddo few months ago (played a few months at launch but didnt get into it) and I'm loving it enough to p2p. 10 bucks a month opens all content. But it does become very difficult at higher level if you don't know what you're doing (which i don't). It's a very complicated game-needing strategy or change of weapons/gear to face different threats (ex beholder have kill spell, disintigrate, telekenisis, take levels, etc-and thats just one mob). And the class customization takes some research too. I was getting a bit discouraged at around lev 12 ranger, until i found a very active small guild that takes the time to teach the newer players and the game is as much fun as I've had playing any mmo. If you don't find a good group or guild it is rough at higher levs. Many players that have played for years can be snobbish to newer players and hard to get into high level groups if not a vet/TR. But many helpful people too. Find a good guild and you should enjoy the game a lot. Has a lot going for it. And i will be trying swtor, GW2 or secret world when one of them is finally released.
Played for a while and left. Zerg PUGs or solo questing and I got bored. The best part I've seen is the starting island.

Cleric is now 7th level. Woot. Also started 3 other chars. I went P2P, because I was having so much fun. $30 for 3 months isn't bad, considering how much entertainment I'm getting.
I'm not waiting for something better to come out. I'm enjoying DDO for what it is, and also looking forward to their new expansion.
========================== The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

I just started an hour go going to play it until SWTOR comes out. Then play it along that when i need a break from SWTOR.

I recently returned to DDO (after being gone for year)
I like the new additions: guild airships, 2 new races, crafting
I'm still playing EQ2 too but DDO is a fun sidegame
