This GAME IS ROCKIN'

PexezPexez Member Posts: 5

All I gatta say is, whoever is out there thinking twice about purchasing this game is making a hugeeeee mistake. There is nothing to think about, just get it. It's true that it is still missing a few features here and there but there are still plenty of things to do while waiting for the devs to implement them. I started this game a few days ago and honestly, I was completely lost and confused and had no idea what to do. I even thought to myself this game is trash, it doesn't explain anything. Well go figure its a sandbox game, you need to figure out stuff on your own and if you can't the community in the game is EXTREMELY friendly. It's a small community atm but its great since everyone get s a feel for each other, most people know each other.

This game has a HUGE potential still hidden and is in need of people to help it flourish into the potential it has. The little time I have been playing, I can tell that the devs are working as hard as they can to get this game up and running to the best of its capacity. I truely believe they will not let us down, lets have faith and help them out however we can!

I will completely agree. I took a risk buying the game but absolutely love my investment. This project has so much potential both realized and coming that it is mind boggling. It is so ambitious but yet  the developers listen to their players, fantastic.

Its funny how you said this i had the same initial feel walking into the game thinking it was trash but after about 2 minutes of walking around i started to see the potential and was able to figure out how to get fish to keep myself from being hungry and from there i crafted myself a hat with the basketry skill and ill tell you when you craft something in this game you feel a great feeling of acomplishment. The community seems to be small havent ran into many people but then again ive only played a few hours. There is a humungous potential for this game and the devs are working really hard. The graphics arent to bad and after about 10 minutes you adapt to them and i dont beleive they are a problem at all so for people on the fense just go for it you will surely be satisfied

i'm thoroughly enjoying the hell out of this game so far.  i was hesitant at first but i'm glad i made the purchase.

Yeah the crafting is so different, you actually have to gather bits and pieces of things and find people to make the necessary tools or find someone with the tools to make the item you need and just like you said once you finish an item, you get a good air of accomplishment, even if what you made was a crappy ass basket or gloves. Its not like the other crafting games where all they do is mass farm, mass produce the same item and put it in the Auction House, where thousands of other people with the SAME skill did exactly the same thing as you. All the items you need to find are in the touch of one finger and are sat down right next to each other to compare prices and take the cheapest one. While in Xsyon, you actually have to value your price depending on the work that was put into it. Also finding the item needed will not be as easy as going into an AH and buying it.

One thing I would like the to implement is being able to make a brand on your item or atleast have your name on the items you build.

what is the character creation like?

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

Later  on, "masters" in a craft will be able to further improve and modify equipment to suit the needs of the player.  Also, "Grandmasters" will be giving contact information, to contact the developers with their ideas and suggestions to further improve that craft.  There's a lot they want to do with this game, and have a lot of  "lofty" goals, that they truly plan on implementing once the game launches.  The more it succeeds, the more we will see the game come to fruition.  I believe has the potential to be THE sandbox game ever created.

Combat I agree still needs work, but as can be attested by Jordi/"Xsyon's" forum posts, he's currently reviewing Mount and Blade, and wants a similar combat system in place as that.  Course, he can't  "steal" stuff from that game, but wants something similar.  I have much hope for this game, and so far, the developers have not let me down one bit.

Character creating is more customizable than the regular MMO.

Just look at Willboonney's bad ass guide, more than enough to inform you about anything you need to know about character customization and feats.

To be honest i thought character creation was lacking a little bit and i kinda felt like i didnt love my own character as i was creating it. There are plenty enough choices to make a character distinct and there are some cool little features in the character customization that they did a great job with but overall the character creation didnt seem that great until you get into the game. Once you are in the game the character you created really seems to fit in with the enviroment. After about like 10 or 15 minutes you actually start to apreciate the character that was created and after a day of playing i actually love what my character looks like. But thats just my two cents ive ran into some pretty cool looking characters and i was kinda rushing myself so i mighta missed a couple things while going through the character creation process.

With all respect, while you might personally enjoy a fresh start in the overly repeated 2 faction model of pvp with nothing but WoW styled battlegrounds to fill the competitive voice (God I miss Dark Age of Camelot).. you are some 4 posts - since the 2011 year started which is apparently when you signed on to mmorpg.com.  I hate to say it - but I have a feeling you are one of those Rift people that keep trying to promote.  By starting with "All I gatta say is..." really reinforces this.

The folks responsible for advertising for mmorpgs tend to have very little interest in the genre.  Hence, they will start up new accounts at popular forums and try to "fit in" with the lingo as they see it.

All I gatta say is I highly doubt you are reputable.  My apologies if I am wrong and enjoy the game otherwise.  For many of us mmorpg'ers, we are still waiting for something cutting edge and fresh.  I come from an mmorpg that contains 3 factions, where you can level to 50 in each one, learning your 8-10th century cutlure and fully immersing yourself into a sense of "our realm" is better than "your realm" thinking.

    /my 2 cents.

The only thing holding me back is im a solo sort of player and i just cant see this game being solo friendly.  The concepts are great though.  If only darkfal had some of these ideas in the works.

It's can be difficult to start out "solo."  But make some friends, that are in a tribe, and most of them are "willing" to set folks up to help 'em get going.  My Tribe plans on having "friends" of solo players and smaller tribes.  I have even heard that they are working on a way for the "Solo Tribe" to join and be part of a "Town."

So no, this game will try to make it fun to play as a solo person.  Will be more difficult, and you won't have access to all of the Tribal features if you don't grow your tribe to Town status, but it'll still be there.

It'll be harder for solo players. There are no NPC's so you'll have to trade with other players.

Just like Will said talk to some tribes settle near them and you'll have no problems playing solo.

damn its harder and harder to stop myself from buying this game, next you will say theres seasons in this game :)

Heh, well there are seasons and even accumulating snow :P

I just wonder if bears will go to sleep for winter.

  • SinellaSinella Member UncommonPosts: 343

Yup, there are real seasons, daylight time is shorter during winter lol. There is real sun/moon cycle and I saw a tribe who built a working sundial on their territory, I was like wooo :))

  • yooriyoori Member Posts: 95

I think At Hopi we had a sundial made of totem and some logs, haven't check if it was working though.

BTW I saw first signs of winter today.

    Okay, I give.

    Buying this asap.

Can't believe I'm about to spend $40 to live in a virtual tent in post-apocalyptic Utah. I've lived in a real tent in pre-apocalyptic Utah, and believe me the experience was not one I'd want to pay $40 for.

Sounds pretty much like some clone of wurm online, the concept at least. Anyone out there who knows both games and being able to compare?

EDIT: my bad, this was already mentioned some threads before...

I brokedown and went with this game instead of Earthrise. I am downloading now. I've played Wurm before, but is the terraforming faster or slower is Xyson. Please say faster.

I haven't played Wurm, but there is a good amount of ex-Wurm players in Xsyon, and they say its much faster. Terraforming in Xsyon is not slow at all.
