I know why I am here. I know why I wake up every morning with the satisfying feeling that I am a part of a greater glory. I walk this path because it is what I have chosen. I walk this path because any other would not be a viable option for me. I am on this path because tyranny has forced me here.
I take up arms against the demons of chaotic evil to remain true to my own values. I ride the edge of a blade and teeter into the depths of peril because it is who I am. I maintain vigilance as a protector because that is my vocation. I exist to serve as the hammer of justice against the enemies of the just. I exist to act as an instrument of restoration of liberty. I believe in the common spirit that unites those yearning for salvation. I believe in the cause and I believe in me.
I am the liberty that will never be oppressed. I am the cleansing sanitation of the festering contagion. I am the defender of the helpless. I am hope, I am integrity, and I am unyielding in the pursuit of my convictions.
I am the guiding light of truth and I am the retribution of murdered innocence. I am the torch of honor. I am the fiery might of valor and relentless defiance. I am the culmination of a thousand fears of villainy. I am the conqueror of darkness and the defender of the weak. I am the pursuer of freedom and I am the stalwart last stand of an ideal.
I am one of many.
I am a Guardian.
The Guardians are a Multi-Game Community. More than a guild, more than an organization, we are a family. Our many members make up not only our fine divisions, but also our forum community, as well. We look for Mature Gamers looking for more than just a Guild or Clan, but a second home, a place of security from your real life troubles.
The Guardians, formed in 2001, in anticipation of the game Star Wars: Galaxies, has a long and honorable history. From forming the first Rebel Guild Hall on the Starsider Server in SWG to having the player voted best City on the Server in SWG, to the first Guild through Molten Core on Eredar in WoW, to clearing Carn Dum on Elendilmir in LotRO, to our Legendary Siege Battles in Age of Conan, The Guardians hope to continue this accomplished history well into Rift.
The Guardians is a place welcoming all playstyles and all ages. If you are looking for a Mature Gaming Community that will be taking steps forward into Rift, then look no further than The Guardians.
The Guardians will be playing The Guardian faction on Sunrest the RP-PvP server. We are currently located on the Sunrest Server in Beta, so if you wish to play with us, that is where you will find us prior to launch.

Have you read it before? You know what I mean...
"We're family and we ... "
Whatever, right?
Wrong....
2010 was pretty awful for me. I lost my job, lost my house and pretty much had my life thrown into disarray. The beam of light in the dismal darkness of last year was re-connecting with my brothers and sisters in TG.
You know how it goes. Families lose touch for a while. Someone moves away and you promise to keep in touch but letters are never written, calls are never made and you just sort of have this loose awareness that family is out there - somewhere. Then the $*#& hits the fan and you realize what matters. It's not stuff, it's not even games and having 'fun' - it's relationships. So I reconnected with TG after many years apart and it was the best thingto come out of the year for me.
We're family - really family. Many of us have met each other personally. Many of us have been together since 2002/2003 in SWG and have years of affiliation. The stupid amongst us (like me!) wandered away for a while thinking that fun was found in games and not in gamers, and are still welcomed back when, like the Prodigal Son, we realize our folly.
If you want that; belonging, comraderie, belonging to something bigger, better, higher than yourself - come check us out. You don't need to be on some sort of spiritual pilgrimage to fit in, either! We have plenty of crazy relatives just like you - what's one more!
Look us over. Check out the website, drop by the forums. I found somewhere to belong there: I know you can too!
Are you looking at having a presence on the Harrow (RP-PvP) server since that one was added?
I don't think that is currently in the plan, but you could always hit our site and PM Thranx to ask for sure.
At this stage, barring anything drastic, I think we're looking primarily at the Sunrest location. No telling what the future can hold, though!
I will check with my tabletop crew and see what they are doing. Harrow was the one we gravitated towards in beta, I will see if they are attached to it. I will lurk at your site as well, thanks for the response!
Something i learned the hard way, about joining beta/open beta guilds during the Aion launch.....
You choose your server in beta, get a nice guild toghether...then comes launch, you all cant wait to get back in the game together....launch comes, that server, along with others are locked full in minuets, and remain that way for a long time. Half the guild doesnt get into the server, theres no back up play on what to do if this happens, you end up on whatever server will let you in.
As much as i wanted to join some guilds in Rift, doing so would gurantee i preorder, however i dont want to go though the launch madness, knowing that if i cant get into that specific server, ill loose whatever guild i was in.
If i can remember, the Aion servers, at least most of the launch ones, were locked solid for a week, by that time your already too deep in another server.
That being said, Sunrest server was locked for a good portion of the last beta, and will be locked full within minuets of launch.
I hope you guys all have a back up plan for when friends and members get locked out due to work, or worse, the server locks up before you log in, wich might happen with this game.
I have been burned by bad launch experiences as well, Snail. I think there is still some value in pre-launch networking however. Plus, it makes you an active component in the community and some of that shakes out after the first few weeks. There have also been good experiences in doing this, no?
Waiting in a Queue a couple times a week is , in my humble opinion, better than rerolling to a populated server once half hte population leaves and all but the top couple servers are baren.
I'm not knocking the game before anyone jumps on me, I will be playing. But facts and history shows us in a best case scenario, 50% of the initial players won't be there after 3 months.
Conclusion, roll on the server you think will be the most populated. for RP-PVP that will indeed be Sunrest.
On Rifts forums i see about 15 decent sized guilds recruit for there. For Harrow, i have seen a grand total of 1.
(and lets face it, this game will probably only have 1 populated one in the long run)
