I see myself keep playing until Tera - GW2 - SW:TOR launch and I like my first month there. The order I've put those games is deliberate.
Of course, I'm going to switch again when World of Darkness is out.
I'm really eager to see what SWTOR is like - if it's any good then I'll switch to it. Alternatively, if Rift goes from strength to strength then there may be no need to switch MMOs at all.
If SWToR doesn't turn out to be the savior of the MMO genre that everyone thinks it is, I'll be coming right back.
I have to agree World of Darkness looks damned interesting.
.. But in a good way.
Rift is filling an MMO void in my "schedule" left by DCUO and FFXIV. Both of those completely screwed things up as I planned out a minimum of 6 months of play time for each. Rift is a GOOD game with the possibility to be a GREAT game. Only time will tell. Seems too good to be true.
Honestly, it's just like all the other themepark MMO's out there so until I see what their ideas for endgame are, we'll never know (well us non-Alpha testers atleast). WHILE I'm looking at GW2 or ToR as my next most likely MMO's I won't discount that stuff like Earthrise (once they fix issues) or Xyson (I'm watching CLOSELY to make a decision) won't pull me from Rift within the first month or 2.
I really don't know.
Depends on how much I enjoy the game after the 1st month and/or at the level cap.
Probably end up switching to TERA later tho.
I was split between "As long as I'm having fun" and "Till GW2 is released". I'm of course not gonna play until GW2 is released if I'm not having fun, but at the same time I will switch to GW2 when it's released regardless of how much fun I have in Rift at that point in time. I went with "Till GW2 is released" though because I see "As long as I'm having fun" as implied in the "Till GW2 is released" answer option.
I said I do not know. There are currently no other games on the horizon that I am interested in playing. Having dropped EVE out of my group of games and putting WoW on a long hiatus dependent upon them addressing certain things, that just leaves me with RIFT and possibly bouncing over to CoX every now and again.
GW2 holds no interest for me, much in the way GW never did. TOR just feels wrong: it feels single-player. I'm not into single-player RPGs these days because they are too short.
Honestly, I was never looking forward to RIFT in the least. I was just so heavily disappointed by the combination of WoW 4.0 prior to Cata and the actual release of Cata, that I was debating going back to CoX. I decided that I would give the RIFT betas a shot, and I was pleasantly surprised. It grabbed me from the start. To an extent, it felt as if Trion had listened to what I wanted changed in WoW. It felt as if they had heard me when I said certain things were missing from games like LotRO and WAR.
Still, I do not know - something may come along and surprise me - Trion may get bought out by an evil conglomerate and everything go to crap... so I really cannot say. I know that for now and in the forseeable future, RIFT has me...be gentle, baby...be gentle, lol.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?
Explorer: 87%, Killer: 67%, Achiever: 27%, Socializer: 20%
Until I stop having fun. Which from my past MMO history could be anywhere from two months to two years.

As long as I am having fun, I will keep playing, but this does not mean I will not also be following the other upcoming MMO and beta test given the opportunity. Beta testing Rift sold me on the game. If Trion delivers on solid content, improvements, addtions and fixes as it has been doing thus far, the game should do very well in deed.
As long as I am having fun, enjoying the game, and everything else that comes with it. Even if other games catch my eye, I will continue playing as long as I'm enjoying it.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
You should only have mutualy exclusive options if it is a 'select one of....' poll. For me it will be when I start to get bored (no longer having fun) which I can say with some confidence will bw after the first months play two at the outside.
With the very affordable price structure at under $10 a month for 6 months I will be going 6 months at a time and probably will be playing for a long time. There is a good amount of replay in this game similar to EQ 1 and they will only be adding to the experiance after release. Guildwars 2 will grab some of my time but they are not pay to play so that is in a different segment of my time/money thought process.
I will probably be dedicating most of my time to Rift and put in maybe 4 to 6 hours a week on Guildwars 2.
If i do end up purchaseing Rift i hope it'll carry me until atleast SWTOR, but honestly i'd be happy to just hit the lvl cap (1-2months gameplay for me im guessing.)
Currently Playing:
Rift + Starcraft II + Gears Of War 3 Beta
At least till last beta, had much fun in beta 5 and was on the edge of buying it but after beta 6 im not to sure anymore so maybe the last beta can convince me to buy and play Rift
Until I get bored....just like every other game

Personally I can see RIFT being my new comeback to MMO. I may take short breaks but I think I will always end up coming back to it.

Until Rift is no longer entertaining, then I will move on. I can see myself coming back to the game should it prove to provide content updates that are enjoyable. Still kind of hard to tell though, this game is still in beta. NO ONE has seen the release yet.
Not buying it at all - this was my plan 6 months ago.
To be honest I was expecting Trion to rush their first MMO unfinished to release, when I read about the game´s setup. *Two factions? Traditional gameplay? How uncommon!* I played this before - but I am an old fart.
For a newer generation of MMO-fans this game is a Win for sure. Why send them to a 5 year old game full of Elitism and borked Economy, when they can have the same experience we had: as a pioneer in a new polished game?
I am kinda impressed how they show almost the full game to the masses (Beta 6 is capped at level 42?). And hey, after several years a new polished "traditional gameplay"-clone again? Why not?
And Trion is also working on 2 other (quite unique) MMOs.
I chose "I don´t know", but I played mostly different games since several months.
I like that the 2nd highest answer is 'for the long run' this is what I picked, it has all the elements for it to be a game that will last.
Well, of course, as long as I'm having fun! However, unless GW2 turns out to be a complete dud, I'd leave Rift for GW2, even if I was still enjoying Rift at that time.
Of course, with GW2 having no subscription fee, it will be easier to float an additional P2P title, so who knows, maybe I'll play both games?

6 months + another 6 months and so on. Even when GW2 comes out, since it's does have a sub fee, I can have both.
Until I get into the TOR open beta or it releases.

Till SWTOR because I am a huge Bioware fan.
