Greetings
This game has no content. Most people who just got the game are blown away but i have been playing since april last year.
The combat is atrocious and there is no exploration at all, it is exactly the same everywhere.
There is no information on any item or skills or stats. You are left to 'figure out' that there is nothing to figure out.
This game is for tradeskillers only. If you are a killer/explorer you will be left out.
There is no ranged combat. The game also is not pvp oriented and it is NOT an 'open pvp game' because people are safe in the tribe area they have joined.
The game has a lot of exploits. Did i mention there is 4 mobs only ?
The Carebears and botters have already taken over a long time ago.
If you are expecting wurm with good graphics you are gonna be insanely dissapointed.
This game is in a pre-alpha state, they programmers have bailed on the project.
Basically Xsyon is not a game, it's a virtual world around Lake Tahoe and everything has no meaning.
I have a free month but uninstalled a while ago. This project to me was pretty much a scam to get money from pvp oriented players then swing the project around for carebears.
You have been warned. I will not support indie projects anymore.

consdiering you see next to NO combat in the video they have put out im nut suprised by ay of this. Game seems like minecraft with slightly better visuals...
You have 2 free months and they are adding a lot of mobs on release. Also not having points and descriptions of items makes it a lot more interesting to me. . assuming there is actually a difference. The combat is bad. I don't see how they "lured" PvPers. Just because it has PvP all over doesn't mean that it is the focus of the game. . I would suspect you would be bored.
It has as much world content and MO did at launch that is for sure. I could see it getting boring for the same reasons though. For me $40 for 2.5 months is worth it even if I get bored after that time. Not sure why you would create an account just to say this.
Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
Thanks for the heads up
Godspeed my fellow gamer
i've seen a rant like this before.
ah yes, that's the one.

Like anything else, if you don't like the game, you don't like it. However, I wanna disagree on a couple of your points and agree on a couple of points.
The Game has no content... This is relatively true, but its a sandbox that is player based. Thus the content is created by the players. If you are expecting dungeons and quest givers and the like, you probably will have trouble with this game.
Combat atrocious, no place to explore... Combat is bad currently, however there is plenty to explore. In addition, the map is designed such that new territories and areas to explore can easily be added.
There is no info on items, skills, stats... Its true, you do have to figure things out on your items. However there is information in the players manual as well as the official forums. With this, I would say, do some research.
This game is for tradeskillers only. no pvp/exploration minded... Definitely a game that is craft oriented at this point. There is plenty to explore and if you enjoy pvp, there are plenty of ppl to kill. However, will admit that currently the pvp is limited.
Carebears and botters have taken over... Don't really know what you mean. There are evil, good, and neutral tribes (Guilds). I've been ganked by some of the evil ones and even had the clothes off my back stolen. Botters, I can't say, I haven't witnessed it.
Expecting Wurm... Can't comment, never played Wurm
Pre-Alpha/developers have bailed... I disagree with the "pre-Alpha" comment. While all of the content is not yet in the game, its not uncommon for indie games. There is a clear roadmap on what they are adding in the next few months which will continue to improve the game. It is a pretty stable game as far as I can tell. As for the developers "bailing", It is my understanding that they are actually increasing the number of developers. You may have inside information which I don't know about, I can only go on whats on the official forums.
Xyson is not a game and there is no meaning... Sounds simply like a disgruntled player. Its definitely a game. As far as meaning is concerned, there is plenty of meaning in what you do. You practice your skills so that you get better (like other games). You build settlements so that you have a place to call home. If you like, you can gank ppl and take their stuff for the fun of it. There will be even more meaning as they implement tribal warfare and such.
I have a free month... hmmm, you actually have 2 free months if you bought the game already (I believe). Like I stated in the beginning, if you don't like it, you don't like it. However, when warning other ppl away from something, its good to put a little of meat in you comments.
Added/edit: You say you've been playing since April 2010. Since that official release isn't until this friday, you've had alot of free months of play time in beta. So your comment about "i'm not supporting this game anymore" sounds like you've been paying for it since then.
I self identify as a monkey.
Let me translate the OP's post............One less negative, disgruntled person to spoil your fun in Xsyon.
If you like Wurm, A Tale in the Desert, Minecraft or are interested in a newer concept in online gaming, check it out. It's not for everyone and it fits a particular niche of gaming well. Make up your own mind. And yes, it's not a finished state game, so the OP was right about one thing.
If the dev team has bailed as the OP stated, and the game is "pre-alpha" I truely doubt you would see an update like this;
Update February 13
Hello Xsyon Citizens!
First an announcement.
We are in the process of setting up a second Xsyon world on European servers!
Players will be able to connect to both locations if they desire. You won't be forced to play on a particular server, but this will give European players much better connections if they choose to play on the new servers.
We are currently waiting on our host company to set up the new servers. The download server at our US location will also be upgraded and we are preparing an additional Trial server.
We are considering setting up additional servers in both the US and Europe that will be more war oriented where we will remove safe zones and make some adjustments. At the moment this is very likely, but we have no set date for this.
The server and client have been updated and patched out. The main reason for this update is to fix a problem with saving character schemes we discovered yesterday. This was the cause for data rollbacks yesterday and this morning. I will be carefully monitoring the server to make sure this issue is fixed.
We may wipe with the next update to clear out corrupted data to help us test a few final changes that are going in this week.
With this update:
Features and Revisions
- Tools have been revised. This is a step towards crafting revisions in progress that have been a long time coming and will be finished with the next update.
- Other crafting revisions are in progress. These will become more visible (with tooltips over icons) with the next update.
- Containers can be placed inside buildings. This will provide protection from decay. We are working to fix a few issues with placing containers through walls at the moment.
- Support for low net book resolutions.
Fixes
- Quest goal input has been revised to ignore spaces and punctuation when searching for a matching valid name. Apostrophes can be entered but are not required to find a valid name.
- A major problem with saving character schemes was discovered and fixed.
What's going in before the final wipe?
As much as possible! At the moment we are focused on:
- Crafting revisions.
- Tribe placement corrections.
- Differences between Tribes and Homesteads (single player totems).
- Revised and safe starting locations.
- Unstuck command.
- Terraforming exploit fixes.
Before the launch we will continue with:
- Combat corrections. I started looking into this, but I switched to other more crucial changes
- Minor tribe improvements.
- Death adjustments.
At launch we will turn on:
- Many more creatures.
- New architecture parts.
For the first few days after the final wipe, only Tribes of 10 members will be able to place totems. I may lower this number, based on current tribe sizes after I examine the database.
After a few days, solo players will be able to claim Homesteads.
The European servers should be available before the end of the month.
What I am hoping to do with this is to stagger the launch so that you all don't feel rushed to play at once and that players can settle in nicely on the two servers without too much chaos!
We will then continue with improvements, additions and evolutions!
That's all for now. I apologize that I haven't been able to handle the FAQ questions recently. I will do so as soon as possible. With the new servers getting set up and plans to expand the team in March, there are many things taking priority right now.
Enjoy!
lol I wonder who that could be....
No but seriously, this game is not for everyone, I think that has been said a thousand times. Some people love it, some don't. I am personally enjoying it so far and I am looking forward to the game has in store for me.
Tool tips were inplimented today
Hey Rev, what's up?
Wow, Revkha is so pissed that he posts his rant even here. I've been playing the beta since April as well, and its a great game. Actually I'm very happy Revkha uninstalled it that helps the community big way.
Did he seriously put all indie devs on notice? Heh. What a card!
"If you are expecting wurm with good graphics you are gonna be insanely dissapointed."
I am not exactly sure how. It is exactly like Wurm back when I played it several years ago and building towns and creating civilizations was a blast. Combat was worse in Wurm, PvP was rare if happened at all, graphics were terrible, there was no information on anything, getting lost was easy, being a solo player was purely impossible without leveling up and getting set up with a town first in order to survive. Guess what, a fair number of people loved the game.
If you jump into an inde game, it is fair that you have to expect the worst. These games are not being funded by multinational corporations, there aren't hundreds of programmers using top level software to create these games. These are the kinds of games you have to love for what they are trying to do, and forgive what they cannot to enjoy.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
lol, now maybe if this person used propper sentence structures then that wouldn't have been so easy.
Look, if this OP isnt clue enough for you really. This dude, along with a couple other dudes are pissed off because they cant have open world FFA PvP without safe zones. Thats all this is. They want to kill you any place they see you, anytime they want to, without limitations. They dont want to craft or build or anything for themselves. They want you to spend the time collecting the mats and training your skills, make the items, and then they can just gank you and steal it all. Thats all this is.
Really, he's just lazy, he wants everything for nothing, and wants you do give it to him without any options on your side. My opinion, tell him to F off and go play something else. And yeah really, he has been bitching like this on the Xsyon forums for like the past 6 months, I doubt he has even played in that time too. And the carebear comments, look here is what I call a carebear, someone who whines and whines because they dont get their way...which makes this guy king carebear number one in my book.
(DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.)
First good comments I listened about Xsyon were from that Revka player,he said thiswas a gem,a true sandox,he really was active ingame at the beguinning ,even helping ,but suddenly it seems he turned mad or something and start complaining for all.
This is really sad,I'm sure he's a good guy but it's something wrong lately to him.
Good luck Syd
haha!
nice link. disgruntled I guess.
Rev? You mean Revelation? Where? If that is who you are referring to... Hello Revelation from me as well. Hope your Island home and it's projects are going well. You helped me in Wurm when I needed it most. Thanks
As for Xsyon. It is still in development and as such there will be "issues". Enough said. You either are attracted to this game and will love it or you won't be, just like Wurm. It is a Sandbox, you need to use your own gray matter and figure out what you want to do and then DO IT. No one is going to hold your hand.
As for it being a carebear game... WRONG answer. I left Xsyon LAST APRIL due to the community on the forums there.... I came very close to purchasing and supporting the game last year and left because the community IS a pvp one (or was then at least). No true carebear like myself will survive in Xsyon either on it's forums or ingame. Just because all the PvP mechanics are not implemented yet does not mean it's a carebear game or caters to them... it doesn't trust me.
Xsyon is one of the most promising MMOs to be released in a long time. It is an Indy project yes, and it will be a bumpy ride, but I am confident that it will be a good ride all the same. I support Xsyon from a far as a fan and maybe I will even purchase and subscribe as well to add some cash to the project, but I already know I will never play and enjoy Xsyon like most here.... for it is made you.

Would like to see more oldies' comments on the game since all these "FIRST DAY OMG I LOVE IT" threads don't tell squat about long term depth. What's there to do after you've crafted a hut and some armor on you? Run around in circles? Not trolling, just concerned.
lol. it's a terrible indy project. the only good game that has come from an indy company is EVE. rest are atrocious.
I am not an oldie, but i might be able to comment on the long term depth, sorta.
That is, we don't know, i don't think anyone does. Its a game like EvE, their long term depth is, politics, "zone control", monetary power, alliances, etc.... things that arent laid out in front of you.
This isn't the type of game where you get the latest epic armor, from the next epic dungeon, and then go show it off at the bank. Not being a smartass, but their is no laid out plan, or progression.
As cliche' and unhelpful as it sounds, its up to the players. Yes, the developement team needs to add more "tools" which are coming, such as tribal warfare.
Its sort of a chance you take with a game like this, does it evolve? if you're not willing to take the chance, check back in a few months, and see how its progressing.
Hope this is slightly helpful
In short, OP does have a point there - BUT, I'm pretty sure that with a little time this game is really going to be awesome. Even I can admit that, me, the guy who's always been about graphics! I can lower my standards for once if rest of the game outshines it.
lol. it's a terrible indy project. the only good game that has come from an indy company is EVE. rest are atrocious.
That is your opinion and I can respect that, I just disagree.
What a player's opinion is about any MMO is partially based on what that Player thinks a MMO should be and what features they think should be in a MMO. This being the case I have an "idea" of how MMOs should be designed and what features they should have, what is necessary and what is fluff, and that being said I think there have been some very good Indy projects.
Everyone's mileage may vary of course.
