We as a community must stand strong and defend the game! The Darkfall fanboys are seeping in, no telling what can happen!!! We must protect this game from getting infected with frothy-mouthed 12 year olds!! We must defend against the vitriolic hate, and the utter internet tough-guy vitriol and nastiness. (Unless it's directed twords one of the Darkfall fanboys)
I fear...it may already be to late.
if they take over the game it will be madness, MADNESS! Absolute bedlam I tell you!
If they overrun the forums we are doomed...........DOOOOOOOOOOOMMMEEEED!!!

it's not the "fanboys" you need to worry about. It's clans like Murder Herd, Seal Cub Clubbing Club, Goons, and such.
Pretty sure a good portion of the population is coming from Darkfall players.

The way they talk on the Darkfall forums, its the greatest game ever. I guess hearing theyre headed to other games says differently.

I assume you've never been to the Darkfall forums then? Because it's literally nothing but suggestions/rants over Darkfall, very little actually praising it.

Goons (as in Goonswarm?) are in Darkfall/Xsyon? Ugh, I hope not...in either game. I'm a Darkfall player and I'm also a (or going to be once final wipe has hit) a Xsyon player. Both are great games. Xsyon has a huge upside.
I'm sure the servers @ Xsyon can handle the influx of DFers. I mean come on, it's not like they had a shit ton over there to begin with.

Its not the people who actually play darkfall you want to worry about its the noes on the Darkfall forums that dont actually play the game and constantly moan about everything and anyone...
I play Darkfall myself and love the game but i know other games are in development that also look really good this being one of then and its somthing i must check out..
You probably mistaken the actual Darkfall players with those who have created their own game in their phantasy. Those have plaqued Darkfall in the past too, they hunting for their ideal version of a MMORPG and troll and hate everything any developer puts up for them that don't fit it. They not to please with everything, good luck with those you will need it.
I am a Darkfall player myself and have no intention to hate or wish Xsyon any bad, on the contrary i very like original sandbox concepts and tries from indipendent companies. MMORPGS should be developed by developers and not salesmen. The enemy is $OE and sorta.

I see a large amount of reference to "Darkfall Players" here and on the Xsyon forums, 1/3 of you people have never played Darkfall, and your simply doing nothing but labeling.
The PvP mechanics in Xsyon and Darkall are COMEPLETELY different.
They are not coming to play this game. Trust me. They would laugh at it.
You have nothing to worry about. The 2 are completely different mmorpgs.

Guilds like Goonswarm will eventually overrun these games, the reason they havent done it in DFO is cause the game sucked, if this game is any good and it is sandbox expect the same fate as EVE, a couple of elitist guilds will be running the show and pretty much controlling everything, specially when you can physically control land by putting down totems.
Well, that wont be possible for at least 6-9 months, maybe even after that (we dont know what happens after 6-9 months, nothing is decided by devs yet)

Xsyon is struggling for subs? The game was just delayed so they could buy extra server infrastructure to support the massive amount of people who preordered in the couple of days leading up to head start.

You are saying that Goonswarm couldnt just micro manage hundreds of tribes and put down totems effectively putting a strangle on the land control to begin with?
I think otherwise, this is possible from the very start, any truely competitive guild will do this to ensure maximum accumulation of land and resources, and this is not your ordinary joe and his friends playing together, just look at their corporation structure in EVE, and like them there are a lot out there which pursue these games for exactly this purpose dominate the server they are on. I dont expect Xsyon to be different, I am sure there will be lots of fun to be had to begin with, at which point these sort of guilds will start taking over.
There is nothing wrong with competition, it is everywhere and guilds/clans/groups of people with elitist views flock to these every day, but when your game is essentially built around a competitive resource and land claiming system you can expect this is what they are going to be doing, saying it will be all teddy bears and hugs its like saying you can just get high rated arenas on WoW if you play with your mom as a partner, and WoW is the very definition of casual MMO, it just doesnt happen, its competitive environment with very competitive people.
Arenas are however just one element of WoW gameplay, while Xsyon presents itself as the full game wrapped around this system.

You remind me of Tasos with the constant bullshit.
In Haven&Hearth, a couple've Goons were playing that. You had square by square "totem poles" that allowed you to claim a zone. They expanded their influence across the map, effectively dividing it in half.
I miss Tasos.....what ever happened to that guy?

he is still there and the game is still on and very good pvp clans play Darkfall.
I like Xyson I really do but I also like Darkfall and trying to compare the pvp skills required in Darkfall to what is needed for pvp in Xsyon atm is hysterical. People who are trying to be bad ass in Xyson are just making a fool of themselves, the skill requirments between the two games are radically different.
