I am 11 hours into the que after doing what you did on Whitefall PvP EU, currently 3.1k been in the que since 6. Why on earth did they do just 2 PvP English servers in Europe?
it may get better tonight when more players move to next zone. I think they locked max players number atm and will release more later. it is hottest MMO launch we have seen in mmo history.
On massively it says that Rift has 1mln registerd players, if that means registerd for the head start no wonder they are having problems. Also ladies and gentleman I think we can assume that Rift will do fine in the future=)
As people move out of the starting zone(s) and into the actual world the shard allows more people on. This helps to prevent the starting zone from getting crushed, so you're queue time should hopefully drop. At least that's what we were told during the first couple of beta's and that the same functionality would migrate to launch. Further, once people move deeper and spread out the shard starts to let in even more people.

I am sure they are allowing drips and drops of players into the new areas. Having 500 people killing the 12 ghosts in the Guardian starter areas would bottleneck everyone worse than a managed slow queue. Once the starting areas (1-6) are 'full' the queue will probably slow more until more folks move to the 10-20 areas.

I was waiting in queue after trying to get on to a PvP server and after a while sitting in queue, even though the numbers were going down the queue time was going up.
so, I just quit out. figured right now isnt the best time to go through newbie zones anyway

Rolling on Keenblade US PVE server, 30 minute wait and going up and down lol. Picked the server since the Keenblade forums were not that busy figuring that would mean less pop. Guess that didn't work lol.
well, i got in , got my characters made with all the names i wanted and logged out. Im in no hurry. Id rather wait a few hours let the initial rush gt by then start leveling myself.

The estimated time varies a lot, I don't think it is correct ... I hope it isn't because 5 mins ago it said ... 19 houts

I've gone from queue #1500ish to 900ish, but my waiting time got from 1hr to 5... WTFrog...

2hrs for Sunrest...at least it drops from 2-3 every so often.
