for me that would be FlyFF, I freaking loved that game, before it went bad with each new update, removing good stuff, replacing with not so good stuff. eventually it stopped being funny and just being a grindfest... I somewhat still go back and play for a few hours every few months when I get nostalgic but it clearly isn't what it used to be... then I played PWi for a while, I liked it but it was mostly a rebound relationship... I still like it and would play it now and then but it didn't get me like FlyFF did... now however I'm playing my second real love, Guild Wars, I gotta admit that I started playing it just for the stuff for GW2, a game that hyped me like crazy, and to learn a bit of lore, and yeah I had heard of it before but wasn't interested till GW2 was shown, but... after trying it... I fell in love... its not the same as my first MMO love, nothing is ever like the first one, but I love this game and I doubt I'll stop playing after GW2 is released, and since is kind of the same game I hope they don't mind me having 2 loves... if GW2 is everything that it says it will be.
Star Wars Galaxies was mine. I seen players riding vehicles and then ventured out of town and realized the cities were created by actual players as were the vendors and the items on them and I was hooked. I had just made the leap from console to PC and wasn't used to games you could basically live in. I think it's fairly obvious why i left . @!#$%$^ing NGE!!!
By definition of original post, definitively Wow. In all expansions. Period. All rest were used only as filer when needed break. Love pizza, but can not eat pizza 5 times per day for years and years. But after short break I always return to wow ... pardon, pizza. :-)) THE game. Only one that was fun to level all classes to max. In no other game had wish to continue to develop single one to max. However, I'm not sure if even Blizzard would be able to repeat this success at any time. However I'm hearing that for change from experience of last long years ... Rift is doing good .. but have not tried yet. For now I'm still enjoying my everyday pizza. :-))
the first mmo i really really got into and im still playing is GunZ the Duel. have been playing that game for 8-9 Years that was one of the first MMO iv ever played and got really into. and after that i guess it was Maplestory, Flyff and World of Warcraft and etc etc saga continues haha
Carpe Diem was my all time favorite before it failed when they tried to make it P2P. :'( I still miss that game and I'm soo mad that they had to get greedy.
Now however, 9 Dragons is definitely my favorite out of the 112 MMO's that I've played through to at least level 50. It's the only MMO that I've truly spent time grinding on and althought I've quit playing like 3 times, I've played since it was in its open beta stages and I've come back to it and am currently close to level 90.
Does anyone remember British Legends on Compuserve? Though I didn't get to play it much, I recently remembered that it was my very first online game experience back in 88 or '89. It was based on the very first ever Multi User Dungeon: MUD1. I only got to play it a few times on my dad's Compuserve account, which I think cost about $12/hour at the time.

While not my first MMO by far, Pre-NGE/CU SWG was by far my first real MMO love.
