The following is a list of all of the Single Player RPGs that I have completed.
Single Player RPGs (Arranged in Cronological order based on date of completion)
Legend of Zelda
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
Legend of Zelda: A link to the Past
Secret of Mana
Soul Blazer
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Skies of Arcadia: Legends (Gamecube port of the Dreamcast game)
Knights of the Old Republic 1
Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords
Jade Empire
Shenmue 2 (Xbox Version)
Shenmue 1 (Dreancast)
Mass Effect 1
Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess
Dragon Age Orgins
Mass Effect 2
I'm sure there are plenty of people who would say that many of these titles are not RPGs, especially the Zelda and Shenmue series, but I will respectfully disagree. All of these games have left an indelible mark on my gaming tastes, and thus have heavily influenced the types of MMORPGs that I play.
From playing games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and the Knights of the Old Republix series I developed a greater appreciation for RPGs that are more cinimatic in the telling of their naratives, but I can also see how these same games have shaped my positive views of strictly defined classes in future games. From playing games like Secret of Mana, Skies of Arcadia, and all of the Zelda games I developed an appreciation for games that encouraged exploration, but at the same time never allowed the player to get lost or loose focus on the main goal. From playing mini games and completing non combat quests in the Zelda, KOTOR and Shenmue series, I learned how non combat activities can add incredible layers of enrichment to the game.
Finally, by recognizing that most of these games are not hard core sandbox games, I now understand why I struggled with games like Starwars Galaxies PRE-NGE (love NGE SWG), and continue to struggle with game like Morrowind and Oblivion.
Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Final Fantasy III are probably my all time favorites. Why do people keep listing Zelda games as RPGs, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was the only game in the series that resembles a RPG whereas the rest were more action/adventure.that really have no real elements of how we define what a RPGs are except the increasing of hearts for health..
i dont know if castlevania 2 from NES is considered rpg. but i really like that game too. it's much like an rpg if you try playing it because you have to travel to many places and buy equipments to help you progress through the game. it depends on your liking anyways, for me i like hack and slash games with a touch of rpg. most castlevania are like that that's why i like all the castlevania siries.
Many of the above, but also one I didn't see on a quick scan through:
Star Control 2 / The Ur-Quan Masters
One of the few games I have actually wanted to replay a few times, and the story and gameplay still hold up surprisingly well even now (and it's freeware now too- http://sc2.sourceforge.net/).
1. Lunar Silver Star/ Lunar Silver Star Story Complete, Lunar Legend and Lunar Silver Star Harmony - I have played every version from Sega CD/PS1/GBA/PSP, which is about 19 years of my life enjoying this game and still do to this day.
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past - Super Nes / GameBoy Advance, I would have to say I play this game at least once a year, my favorite in the series.
3. Skies of Arcadia - This game is the only reason I still have my Dreamcast to this day, it's just a great adventure and I always wanted it ported to the Xbox360 or PS3.
4. Elder Scroll IV " Oblivion " - As a fan of the series, this is by far the best in the series, I am still wow'ed by this game to this day.
5. Mass Effect 2 - I would say I enjoyed the first one of the series, but this was really impressive with the second installment in the series... Bioware I would have to say made a perfect RPG, there is nothing I can pick at this game that I did not enjoy.
Runner ups POPFUL Mail Sega CD, Diablo 2 and Fallout 2.
Top 3 Favorite MMO's:
1. World of Warcraft - The series at the beginning didn't really shine for me, not until late after Burning Crusade was released. Every big patch or Expansion since has kept me reeled in. Blizzard has always brought me back into there world and I'm glad I stayed.
2. EVE Online - Massive open world, epic ships and pvp battles, this game took a lot of your time to upgrade your ships and do things in the game...but if you could wait it out, it was worth your time.
3. Guild Wars - I was a late starter playing the game, I didn't start playing the game till 2010. ArenaNet has done great with this series and I am ready to jump to Guild Wars 2 when it launches.
Runner ups : Age of Conan, EverQuest 2 and Lord of the Rings Online.
Wildstar (2013) & Elder Scroll Online (2013)
Playing: Diablo 3, WOW, Far Cry 3 & X-Com.
Enjoyed: WOW 5 1/2 yrs, LOTRO 3yrs, GW 1/2yr, DFO 1yr, EVE Online 3yrs, and Huxley (Beta).
Failed to impress: GW2 3months, Tera Online 6 months (best combat system in any MMO I've played) STO 1/4yr, Aion 1/2yr, AoC 1yr, CO, Fallen Earth, DDO, EQ2 1/2yr, WAR 1/2yr, Lineage 2 and FF XI 1/2yr, FF XIV.
There are many more which did not quite feel like RPGs, but more like hybrids with some RPG elements, like Jagged Alliance 2 etc.
Bard's Tale was my first RPG I played on my dad's Commordore Amiga.
Wildstar (2013) & Elder Scroll Online (2013)

For me ive played Renaissance Kingdoms, Rubies of Eventide, Pardus, Kingdom of Loathing, Neverwinter Nights. Mass Effect, Fallout and Elder scrolls. and my favorite? got to be Diablo 1 and 2.
There were a few more good on Amiga which names eludes my now, in the best of them did you play 3 brothers in 3rd person....
I'm guessing you're talking about Fairy Tale Adventure?
First RPG I ever beat.
... sometimes I feel like I'm the only non-European in the world who owned an Amiga.
I own a Amiga 500 and 1000, they were my DAD's of course, but I still own them and kept them to this day. That was my PC growing up. My Dad worked for Commordore, I'm guessing that's why I also had the consoles as well.
Wildstar (2013) & Elder Scroll Online (2013)

Bard's Tale was my first RPG I played on my dad's Commordore Amiga.
That's funny, Bard's Tale was the first RPG I ever played on my dad's Amiga too! So weird.
Plus you liked Lunar, so you must be a likable person, haha.
Interesting story... i got Bard's Tale 2 for free when I visited EA and told them I liked the first game. Man, back in the day they were this nice little tiny company and I got to go on a tour and get free games and everything. What happened to them?

I now use a Amiga Emulator program that plays any game which is nice, saves me from hooking up the old machine when I want to go down memory lane.
LOL @Lunar- Its the story that always kept me playing this game. " Boy looks up to Dragon Master, goes on adventure to be just like him , sets on adventure with friends and BLAM!, ...the fun begins. When I pre- ordered Silver Star Story Complete on the PS1, I also recieved a Ghaleon 12" Punching Puppet. Ghaleon to this day is my favorite video game villian.
Companies change and sometimes just not for the good, just to make money and stay in business. I had a higher appreciation for EA as a kid and teen, but after awhile they changed and not the way I like it. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy what EA brings sometimes, but it's just not the same.
My parents worked for Commordore and Atari, so I was lucky to get a lot of consoles and games for free, I can't say I ever visited either company when I was younger, but if I did, i'm sure it would of been amazing.

The lack of people listing Final Fantasy Tactics makes me a sad panda. Best. Game. Ever.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
how can a true rpg fan not love secret of mana 2.. this game is an EPIC. it's on the top along with FF6.
edit: Seiken Densetsu 3/Secret of Mana 2, they are the same game.
Diablo is my all time favorite for it was my first RPG to play on my dirty old mac which is 15 years old now. ( 2k bug prone) lol.
OT i played the Fallout series which i like and fable to. lastly the morrowind series.
Either ocarina of time or chrono trigger.
Omikron : Nomad soul
is the best RPG made ever i think if anything comes after it , it would be Revenant and Duse EX
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Longest played and favorites.
World of Warcraft (i knows)
Rift
Sage of Ryzom was awesome
Favorite RPGs of all time? I'd have to go with these:
Chivalry and Sorcery (any edition, but started with the Red Book) - preferred it to AD&D (any edition)
Harnmaster
Champions (the Hero system is AWESOME for supers, less so for other genres)
In Nomine
Paranoia (just for sheer hilarity)
Call of Cthulhu
Aftermath
Played a ton of others, enjoyed many. Yes, the above are paper and pencil - pound for pound my best RPG experiences ever.
Single-Player Computer RPGs - the usual suspects: the Baldur's Gates, Elder Scrolls, Fallouts.
MMORPGs? I'd go with:
Mortal Online
Ultima Online
EvE
EQ1
WAR
WoW
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Damn. Image didn't work. I would say my best RPG of all time is NWN with all the expansions added to it.
