Rather than "make profits through trade", i would rather advise them to scam in Jita... Absolutely no others risk than buying a PLEX for 35.55 ISKs... >_<'

Unless someone just want to go for a trading carrer, he should not try to mess with the market...

I'm french, that's why I sometimes mis-use or mis-spell some words... Please don't blame me.

I'd start doing missions, just for learning how to play.

Then I'd read up online and decide what I want to do (combat (solo or corp), mining, manufacturing, exploring, playing the market) and find a guide to tell me what skills to train for it. Then get EvEMon and put those skills in a plan and then play.

Also Massively.com (another MMO blog) has started a corp for new players, giving support and help. I'd join that too.

I would avoid missions for exactly the same reason. They dont teach you how to play anything except missions.

They will familiarize you with the ui, and the basics of fitting and flying a ship.
