created account, used beta key given, received an error and removed the game. system requirements not posted anywhere, perhaps that was the problem, i don't know. however i have no patience even for betas that won't play. so i guess i'm gonna stick with forsaken world for now,at least it plays.

No offense but with that attitude of you towards beta tests I do agree that it is better to stick with an already released game. Guess that's the kind of beta tester you get via such promotions that clearly rather serve the purpose to get some people hooked for release while on the side stresstesting the servers. Sorry it didn't work for you.
Not tried this yet but it's a beta these things happen they are for testing and u are basically a guinnea pig testing server loads and client compatibility, they may have patched the game and u may be testing/playing said game maybe not now but some time.
I had the same issues with Eve in the good old days of ATI cards not working and haveing anti aliasing issues, was months before i could actually play and look how that turned out played for 3 years ran 2 corps so pretty much worth it.If everybody does this FE,Mortal Online,Xsyon etc would never make it past Alpha !!
this
Currently playing : Darkfall
Character name : Aeola Anara
Played: Almost every P2P MMO you can get your hands on, notably:
Daoc, SWG, LOTRO, WAR, AoC + Dozens more
Forsaken World is not released. it is beta. open beta begins wednesday. now you have your facts straight. it plays, case closed.
The point of a beta is so that you can help devs fix games that won't play, not cry about them and e-thug on a forum.
You don't deserve to play beta with that kind of talk. You are in acceptance of the terms as a beta tester to help the company fix bugs/problems, etc. If you are unwilling to accept that fact before you download the game then you are only wasting your time. Beta is not a free ride to play the game before it gets released. Unfortunately thats what the majority of your kind of people think Beta is. Get real, grow up and quit the selfish attitude. Someone needs to kick you in the ass in all seriousness.
On the other hand I installed this game with no problem, so maybe with as neglecting you are to give an attempt to resolve the issue or figure out what the problem is, maybe it is your system causing the issue and not the game.
if a game doesn't post requirements or doesn't play for any reason, beta or no beta, i no longer have the patience for it. i'm sorry. this is 2011 and i expect more from these game companies. this is not my first game test, i'm not new to this. i'm just giving an opinion thats mine alone. i refuse to test product that took hours to download, only to not be able to play for any reason.
That's fine, it's just that's it's the other posters' opinions that some kinds of people should never be involved in beta, on this occassion they feel you are one of them.
Did you report this issue you were having to them on the boards or anywhere, afterall that is kind of the point of the beta in the first place.

The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species.
Again your negligence preceeds you. If you took the time to do a search for the system requirements you would of came up with this. Took me 10 seconds to find.
We will announce our minimum and recommended system requirements closer to the launch date, but the following is a good estimate:
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
Processor: 1GHz or faster
RAM: 512
Video Card: DX9 compatible (pixil shader and vertex shader compatible) hardware 64MB of texture memory
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible audio hardware.
Again, you do not deserve to be a part of a beta you have no serious interest in to help the devs make it better. If you lack the patience and the only thing that turns you away is the game not installing then you got issues. You willingly set yourself up for this. Then instead of blowing it off in your own silence you come on here and post to make a blantant attack at the developers, condensending them for lack of making a proper installer. Well I assure you its more than likely your system if the installer failed installing the game on your system.

Well instead of bashing the developers, DID YOU? I bet you didn't because you don't know what it means to be a beta tester, again you just wanted a free ride.
i confess to being a selfish old man with no patience. however if those were the system reqs. the problem was not my system.
if the posters have a poor opinion of me, so be it. everyone is entitled to an opinion. i stand by my opinion.
Op,Just curious here you say you have tested other beta's so which other beta's have u actually tested, and which ones cause i can only honestly say Rift was the best beta i have been in regardless that the game was not for me and i have done quite a few.
Have you participated in Dark and Light,Irth Online,Aerrevan ? ,because these really did have something to complain about.
Greetings, Silkraven.
Sorry to hear you're having issues. You do have a good point about updated system specs. I wanted to let you know that we'll be featuring system specs & technical challenges in our next Dev Blog Q&A session for this Friday.
Also, if you would be so kind to submit to our Support Team the issue you're having and any errors you've received, it will help us greatly in resolving your issue (and similar issues from others).
You can reach our support team at support@godsandheroes.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

thank you for the reply Danicia, but i have moved on. nothing personal, i'm done. as for all the negative opinions, they are entitled and so am i.
I saw this before and didnt reply cuz i thought it was silly. ;p
I understand the frustration but just because your system didnt run the game doesnt mean the actual game itself is bad.

monstermmo, what you said is 100% true. i just never went that far to find out.
Silkraven,
Sorry it didn't work out. Give us a try a little later in the beta and let us know what you think then. There's plenty of work to do on our side, no doubt about that!

Just reiterating what othes have said. Betas, AKA Beta Tests, are expected to have errors. It's supposed to be your responsibility to report them when you encounter them. To be fair, many betas in recent years have been run as if they were just advanced previews of a soon to be released title, so it's not unexpected for people to treat them as such. Which may go towards explaining why released games over the last while have been such buggy pieces of junk. If the developers don't care, why should their "testers"?
Still, you're not really in a position to complain about bugs. If it was a released game then, by all means, let loose with both barrels.
Thank you, we appreciate that! We've got a very passionate and dedicated team. We really DO love this game and our community. We know the game won't be for everyone and that's okay. Even if if it is not, we're still happy that you enjoy the reach out and communication we are doing.
If you ever need to give feedback directly or comment to the team, you can email us directly at community@godsandheroes.com
