After attending last week's PAX East convention, the MMORPG.com team has compiled each member's 'best in show' for The List today. Check out what Jon Wood, Garrett Fuller and Bill Murphy thought were the very best things seen at PAX East 2011.
This week, in place of the normal “All Bill All the Time” List, we thought we’d put together a tally of what Garrett, Jon, and Mr. Murphy all found to be the most engaging sights to see at PAX East 2011. They wrote each of their answers separate from one another and we crammed them all together for your reading enjoyment in today’s List: The Best of PAX East 2011.

In fact you switched DDO and LotRO. DDO came out 2006 and LotRO came out 2007 which makes them 5 and 4 years old, not 6.
But I play LotRO since prerelease and I still wouldn't change it for any other game. They DEFINITELY made something right.
The main issue with LOTRO is its getting dumber. F2p, solofication, magic classes. Once you play through the content there isnt much fun to be had (for me). Obviously others will feel different. So Im not sure what there is to be excited about. More reptittive dungeons?
Having turbine at the booths means one thing they want more folks to pay them attention. Once inaccuracy ddo was first then lotro.
I'm patiently waiting swtor.
The other games do not appeal to me, I already have a fantasy mmo, and im not about to leave it for new ones.
World of Warcraft is not THAT amazing...
I am glad Turbine was there and wants to be noticed. Lotro is a very nice game. They have done a good job. I haven't played it from the beginning although I have tried it along with the trials. I was playing others that I lost interest in after 5 years. I really don't see that happening this time.
I began Lotro with the F2P Beta and have two F2P accounts to keep up with how it goes and such. I have one VIP account which of course I play more. Yes there are some things about F2P that if you stay with it can be costly and are frustrating but overall it is not too bad. I have played others that I lost interest in even though I had full access to most content , but just couldn't keep my interest and grew dull.
Everyone looks for different things in a game whether it is F2P or P2P. Some look for the PvP content and if it is not good enough they don't like it no matter how much they like other things. I am not a PvP fan so naturally that part does not interest me. However, if PvP is the dominant of a game I want no part of it. Lotro has PvP but I am not sure it is what a big PvP fan would like so they would not stay with it because of that.
As for end game content: many games grow weak in the end game. To please one gamer another is going to be unhappy. That is just the way it is. I like end game but not as much as some will. Truth is end game in most games is boring and repetitive. If you are leveling alts it is the same, but most get to end game then begin another toon so they can push through and take it through to end game then rinse and repeat till there is no more slots available to do so.
Gikku
Lol if you would bother to look at my profile you would see that your wrong. I don't play wow, have not played it in over 4 years. I play eq2. It does everything I need it too.
Turbine needs to quit screwing around with DDO and LotRO, and make a true updated version of Asheron's Call.
so true, make asherons call with todays graphics, id be there in a heartbeat.
I LOL'd at Jon being the "kind and attractive editor" -- it really snuck up on me.
I can't wait to see Kingdom of Amalur.
I think someone doesn't know how to do math. Its 2011, not 2012. LOTRO is five years old (and not quite that, its only March), and DDO is 4 years old.
Yup, had my moron hat on when I wrote this. There's really no excuse. i'll have myself flogged promptly

Amen to that!

if urgent do it yourself
if you have time-delegate it
if you have forever-form a committee
I've gotta say, the dynamic gameplay and watching how the gameplay was on some of the videos I've seen for Guild Wars 2, I cannot wait for future beta testing for it and actual release. I mean it's totally going to be #1 for a long time.
I agree!
But im affraid these days this only counts $$$.
And for of this article rest of games showed here is no surprise to me this site always promotes same games over and over again there so unbelievable mainstream bah:(
Dare to be different i say and not be so predictable hehe.
DDO 28-feb-2006 released so 5years old
Lotr 24-april-2007 released so almost 4years old but not yet.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
Nice summary and interesting highlight
Agreed about Asheron's Call, I'd love to see a remake of that.
The good old days of Asheron's Call. That game was the absolute best. Man, do I miss it!
Games Played: World of Warcraft, Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call, Asheron's Call 2 and Star Wars Galaxies.
I think its great to see all of these prospective games, but, they've been in development for years! I can't help but wonder when and if they will ever be ready for prime time play!
nice spam above wow = addictive, other mmorpgs= addictive, lotro = not addictive but simply THE BEST.
