I have been keeping an eye on this game and I keep reading that people are moving dur to lag and lack of resources or that people have chopped most of the wood and now have nothing left to do as far as crafting goes. Is this the case? Are things past where a new person can come in and work on crafting without walking the entire map looking for that last tree?

Most are whining that they have to go a lil way to get trees, but they want a world simulator and they got it. if you cut them down you will have to travel to get more. trees are the only thing you have to search to get and it not hard to find them. So no you are not behind at all.
How many delicate flowers have you met in Counterstrike?
I got a case of beer and a chainsaw waiting for me at home after work.
There are a lot of resources, and trees grow back, but there are still trees everywhere.
there are still a lot of resources. a lot. you might have to make a bit of a trip, depending where you decided to call home, to get trees. But it's not a huge deal honestly.
That's not the case at all. Resources are everywhere, and most of them replenish i believe. Trees grow back after a while if you don't destroy the stump, and near rivers and the lake people have over cut and overhunted the animals... but this is not really a problem if you play it smart.
Around the river i live, people have pretty much eradicated the trees for their inital tribal buildings, but maybe a minute walk away is a forrest sitting their untouched. Also, it's winter time right now which covers up a lot of the resources, so maybe people are missing them? Idk, i don't see where the complaints are coming from and my zone is pretty populated.
Bottom line, this is not a thing to worry about, resources are replenishable for the most part, and the devs are already planning to expand the map, there is plenty of space. Once tribes need less wood , there will be even more trees.
pfft. people are lazy. theirs thousands of trees ingame still and a MASSIVE amount of res. Go look in the mountains :-)
