And yet, another lost soul in MMO. Been away from MMORPG"s for three months now doing Warband, saw Xsyon and I am interested. The chance to get the game has come and here I am...debating on it. Left DF due to hacks, macs and cracks...MO problems staff interference problems etc. and unable to force myself to play games on the auto-target thing. I will make this short, I do not mind growing with an indy game with a few issues but, the same issues with DF and MO will surely do me in and cost your hard earned tax dollar (retired military). So shipmates, here are my questions.
Can I solo an survive
Where can I find a manual for this complex game
Is download instal a pain
Is cancelling a chore
Can I expect mac, hack galores
I have never been so frazled about a game in my life, just do not want to lose money with this one. I know this is not the recruiting fourm but, I would be interested in a group with mature adults, Ok, mature as in no hack macs cracks. I can TS vent or work most voice programs and can play 6-10 hrs a day if the need is there (hot wife with good job and a pention).

Hello Seabeast,
I'll start off from saying, if you really want a sandbox game that is unlike any other out there, then this is the one for you.
Its unique, it has alot of ambitious plans for the future, and as far as sandbox type mmo's go, this is already a much better designed game than most sandbox's out there.
I would go as far to say that this is going to be one of the games that other mmo's need to keep a close eye on.
This isn't to say its not without bugs and issues, sure it has some problems and a few bugs here and there, but what I like about this game, is that the developers seem to always keep constant communication between them and the community.
The developers also seem to be the kind that will work endless hours and through all days of the week to get things corrected and fixed. I would say 'yeah yeah... how long is that type of relentless attitude going remain' But honestly this game has been in development for years now, and the small development team seem to keep on going.
Like a Energizer Bunny!
As for your questions...
Can I solo an survive - Yes ofcourse, It is hard however but it is very doable. Watch my ' A Day in the Life of Saintbob'.
Where can I find a manual for this complex game - http://www.xsyon.com/install/Xsyon_Manual.pdf - I think its going through some changes at the moment, I remember someone official making a post about it.
Is download instal a pain - Nope not at all, just create an account follow the instructions on how to download the installer, once installed, patch. and then Done.
Is cancelling a chore - Nope, not that I know of, although i have not used this feature yet, but I beleive its as easy as pressing a button.
Can I expect mac, hack galores - Not as much as some of the Trolls seem to give the impression of... Sure there are people out there that do macro / bot, but the GuideTeam have made a few posts in the past to reassure the community that all players suspected and reported are investigated and dealt with. This may not be everyones experience with the Guide Team in regards to this issue, but how many games do you know of that will actively keep you up to date with the progress of a complaint of this nature?
Final words - I think personally this game is too much of a good thing to not give a go... Its very much worth the $40 (£30 give or take) even if you only play it for 6months. (side note: I just spent £40 on Dragon Age Origins, for it to only last me 6 hours of gameplay), you will deffinetly get alot more than 6 hours of gameplay with this game!
As for recruiting or joining a tribe, goto the official xsyon forums and goto the Tribe recruitment thread, im sure you might be able to find something to your liking there.
Hope I have helped?
Thanks ST.B, I broke down, payed up and watching video's. Still playing with the ability to get the game screen bigger and shifting to its own window. I'll keep you informed.
Great to hear it, let me know how your journey enfolds.
