MMO's used to be created in an attempt to give people the experience of other worlds or ancient egypt or whatever their "theme" was. Now they are "themed" casinos or 'themed" amusment parks. If you can't see the difference in "themed" diku and a virtual experience with a theme then I dont know what to tell you. Go to any casino, no matter what the "theme", it's still the same experience minus the sideshows.
That's fine if thats what they're advertising, but I wouldnt call it an MMORPG. You're gonna make people mad doing that. people will expect an experience dictated by the theme. Not the same experience in a different theme.
There's nothing wrong with anyone. We are all wonderful people.
See you in the dream.. The Fires from heaven, now as cold as ice. A rapid ascension tolls a heavy price.
There is a frightening trend amongst gamers and the world as a whole lately. To make matters worse it seems to be ramping up to a frenzied pace. Everything has become disposable to us. We power through content and then complain that it wasn't enough or we can't power through fast enough and claim it's a grind. We hate on everything that is placed before us shouting that it is stale or that it doesn't even have what old games had.
We have become a disposable world, bent on hating everything and anything. I pity game developers. We hate everything they give us, even when it's what we were clamoring for. We need to stop thinking of ourselves as critics and find joy in being gamers again. Do you remember the joy you used to have at trying a new game and exploring everything it had to offer without spoiling it by reading all of these self important amateur reviews? If not I pity you.
I truly hope we can recapture the joy in content.
I think you're confusing the "world" with the U.S. Right now I'm stationed overseas in Germany and I can tell you that he way of life over here is nothing like what it is back in the States.
As for gamers, well, I think you're right on that end at least. Gamers dont know what they want any more than geme developers know what we/they want. Vicious circle...
Wrong the horde were communist , the alliance were a dictatorship....
Now both side are ruled by a aristocrate/tyrant with no clue ....
Uh.. Lil' Beck. Communism is socialism in practice.
But at least you didn't try and correct it with Nazi.
Socialism is a society without dependence and exploitation.
Communism is a society without poor or rich people.
I fail to see how "communism is socialism in practice" would apply. Unless you talk about the sovjet union and its allies, which was neither a socialism nor a communism.
When I first started to play MMO's it was a different generation to the current one. When someone was generally out of order, they were made aware that their actions would not be tolerated. But as a whole, everyone got along and it was great.
That is NOT what i remember.
People were intentionally causing trains back in EQ to grief others. People were kill stealing. Lots of bad things happen. People are people. They are no better or worse 20 years ago than today.

That statement is true.
On the other hand, the feeling that "things got worse" is a normal one. Things changed when some greedy MMO developers decided to implement single player elements into MMO's, to accomodate a huge chunk of the market, the single players. Soon, those single player things (which werent that bad at first) became the main course in modern MMO's. In the new games, almost everyone soloes to cap level. Not only that, people expect to be able to solo to max.
Even the game mechanics, heavily quest based, promote solo play and selfishness as the most efficient method of progression (i quest when i want, where i want, i get all the loot, i do not have to wait for anyone). The players, who spent all their ingame time from lvl1 to max lvl playing alone, should now become what, a happy helpful community of nice non-selfish people, who group for fun, share life stories, like to play together? Can we actually expect that? Isnt the current pattern of using groups as means to an end, the normal one to derive from those game mechanics?

People are spoiled.

Life of an MMORPG "addict"
For 7 years, proving that if you quote "fuck" you won't get banned.

Gee lets go trough half the topics here , we all know what is wrong .
Too many captains without a ship on definetly on shore ... the few that do have a ship are being yelled at for doing it wrong .
The number of captains on shore increases , they all yell we want that kind of ship.
But reason they don´t understand they didn´t have a ship , is cause they were bad captains not able to lead a crew .
But still they are captains . thus blaiming others cruiseship for being the fault .
Enough metafor , truth is the new generation are just bunch of sheeps .
That need more discipline , but older generation can´t guide them cause the newer generation are more lazy and smart.
So end deal they will be fine , they will be lead by the biggest baddest tyrant online .
And suddenly realise there disconnect .
But truth is the world outside is doing fine , the world online is showing a lot of disconnect .
So that wonderfull hippie picture will in 2025 replaced by a bunch of people playing LAN .
They will call that the MMORPG generation .
people just forget that its all just a game......just some bits on screen.
nothing more.......relax and game on
But the Horde are clearly socialists!
Wrong the horde were communist , the alliance were a dictatorship....

Wrong again shows you that you don´t have a clue , socialist is a state where the ruling party takes care of social status .
Communist is a ideal , that never passes the dictator ship .
Nazi is called fascime , where they believe in purity of certain ideology .
Since when did republicans become so dumb , that they forget there own terminology ... doesn´t bode well for republicans >.<
They were a master at terminology , and knew when to play that game when not .
You high?
Care to explain ?
Ok let me guess the next couple of quote and reply will be about , high fives and who has the biggest meter.
Totally derailing the topic , ending into spam report ....
Cause simply put cannot stand being wrong!! boring , have the last word .

I think your hands would rot before you could even cover 1% of what's wrong with the world.
